It looks as good as can be, but even if it takes 5 years for Takara to make one, I'd wait. Why can't they just say "yeah it's in the works" or something to that effect?
Should I put full faith in Takara, what with the rumors of the next MP's all being Autobots with no Megs V2 in sight? Oh first world problems.....

I basically had the same thoughts. Now I'm scrambling to find a Quakewave to go with this awesome Apollyon (when he arrives)! Soundwave, Laserbeak, Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp are waiting

Apollyon is one I'll definitely be going for. I actually just purchased both Thundercracker & Skywarp this week and got Starscream a week or two ago so my 3 MP-11 mold seekers are already covered. Just need this baby, Soundwave and a Shockwave and I'll be happy!

Remember years ago when Walmart stores carried MP Starscream and MP Skywarp.
Think walmart in America sold MP Starscream for $39.99.
Could be wrong, But I think Walmart in America first sold MP Skywarp for $49.99. Then during the Christmas season the toy kept getting reduced. Months later Walmart sold MP Skywarp for $15. Remember buying one for $15 at a nearby Walmart store.
Then when TRU stores in America starting selling the MP Seeker toys. They wanted around $60 or $70.

Genuinely curious here, why would you not want to support 3rd party transformers? I've run across this mindset a couple of times and feel like I missed a party?

I picked up both Starscream and Skywarp at Walmart, I know they were both under $50 before tax. Reaaaaaaally wouldn't mind MP-11 versions like my TRU Thundercracker. the mold is just so much better!! And they can stand properly!! What's up with all the pre MP-08 masterpieces having issues with standing upright?!

Well, I suppose it's not really about *NOT* supporting 3P MP's, and more about if I'm adding to my MP collection I want it to be official merchandise. And if Takara needs support (and encouragement to continue) anywhere, it's the MP line.Ironhidensh wrote:Genuinely curious here, why would you not want to support 3rd party transformers? Exactly - it's not about *NOT* supporting 3rd Parties, but rather ensuring that any such support doesn't come at the expense of supporting official product. Especially for something as precious as the MP line.

I'm all for supporting HasTak, only if they release the bigger MP TF toys at a faster release pace. I've waited Thirty years, I'm not going to wait another Thirty. I need to enjoy these Bigger MP TF toys while i'm still young and healthy to do so.
If HasTak wants to wait another Five or Ten or Twenty or Thirty years to release. MP TF G1 Galvatron, MP Cyclonus, MP Scourge, MP Sixshot, MP Triple changers, Japanese chareacters. Then I can't wait that long. Rather buy these from Third party companies right now instead of waiting years for them.

The one that boggles my mind is that 3P MP Sunstreaker coming out. It doesn't have the same aesthetics as official MP's, and why not just wait? TT has the Lambo license, it's just a matter of time.

Why wait, When some 3rd parties are charging the same or less for similar Takara MP TF scaled toys.
What if I wait and the Takara V2 is worse or similar to MP-05?
At least right now, I can see X-T Megatron is a great toy.
Don't think Takara has any immediate plans to make a V2 G1 MP Megatron. Think doing a G1 MP Galvatron will be Takara's V2 Megatron as it's always been the characters upgraded toy.
Two years later, Quakewave is selling for almost $1,000. Not willing to wait years for X-T Megatron to also sell for $1,000.

Right...by buying "high quality KOs" of readily available MPs

Yeah I dont get why people would buy that figure, I'd also say the same for the 3rd Party Hounds, these are figures that I am fairly confident Takara will get around to doing.

This is the key, I can't see Takara making a revised G1 Megs, or a MP Shockwave which is why I have Quakwave and have pre-ordered Apollyon, I may also order Fans Toys Spotter as I cant see Takara doing an official Reflector any time soon.

It cost me roughly €390 for both, shipped. But neither were MISB. Both were second hand and displayed although not transformed more than once.
I'd been looking for Cracker for a loooong time but didn't bite the bullet till now. But I figured now that I had a chance to get Skywarp at a good price I should just go for it.
Cracker still came out around €195 due to eBay adding their import charges. Found Skywarp in Belgium from a fellow collector who needed money to buy FT Soar.
Anyway €390 is like $425...
Starscream a couple of weeks ago cost me €150 shipped but no box or corronation gear. (Whicj I don't care about anyway since he was just for my display)
I actually need a mint second hand Soundwave now. Though I may also buy a MISB down the road to have two since he's my favourite decepticon. (As a child I just loved how badass he and Optimus looked with their mouth piece)

I guess I'm not a loyalist. My money goes to the company making the product I want. Also, whenever Takara does do a MP Sunstreaker, I'd be willing to bet it is simply a Siseswipe repaint with a new head. I have zero faith in either Has to or Takara making an original Sunstreaker toy.
Besides, if an official figure does ever come out. I'll still probally pick it up. I'm just not going to pass up a figure that I like, to sit and wait to see if something else will come out from the official line.

Yeah, I just did a quickie eBay search and Apollyon preorders are already going for 200+ bucks. That settled it. BBTS preorder has been made.

Yeah, I just did a quickie eBay search and Apollyon preorders are already going for 200+ bucks. That settled it. BBTS preorder has been made.
Wow that's crazy! Reminds me of the Majora's Mask NN3DSXL pre-orders..
I'm glad you pre-ordered it! As has been mentioned in the topic before, I think the only thing a Takara release would have going for it is that it is a Takara product. And maybe they fix the feet

Spotter looks awesome. I should probably get on that. And the Dinobots. Which I'm behind on. *sigh*

That's a pretty silly thing to say.
How do you figure? When was the last time we had an original Sunstreaker?
