We have received word from
Transfans.net about an interview with former Transformers artist Staz Johnson. Here is what they passed along to us:
"Stewart "Staz" Johnson was a late addition to the legendary Transformers UK art team. Joining not longer after the controversial switch to black and white strips, his debut was in issue 236's Matrix Quest prequel 'Deathbringer Part 2'. Staz went on to be one of the comic's most prolific interior artists, his work extending to a string of memorable covers that did much to forge the visual identity of Transformers UK in its latter years. Afterwards he had much success with The Big Two, drawing some of the most recognised comic characters in the world, but he's still found time to reminisce with us about his days with the robots in disguise..."

Our guru of
People involved with Transformers, Simon Furman has been interviewed by the UK brand of the
Sci Fi Channel. The
interview takes us back to the rich history the writer of much of the Transformers Mythos has brought to paper in the various
Transformers Comics. And follows the evolution of Transformers over the years, to Furman's present day involvement with the Transformers.
"
Well, the new comics are set very much in the movie continuity. The first six issues, it's pretty much a character per story that we focus on. And also we try and highlight some of the ones who weren't necessarily given a lot to do in the movie, so we kind of cover characters like Ratchet and Ironhide, and Devastator, but there's also this larger story that unfolds over the whole six issues".
The
article ends with a short interview with Chief Editor of
Titan's UK Transformers Comics, Steve White.
"
Aside from Simon (obviously) and Geoff Senior, Andy Wildman and Nick Roche will be doing art for the following two issues. I'd like to see if I can get some of the other 'classic' artists interested but I don't want this to be a complete nostalgia-fest. We have to bear in mind we'll be picking up a whole new generation of fans who only know it from the film, so we can't afford to alienate them, especially as there'll probably be a lot more of them!".

GVK: Final question, have you heard anything about a sequel or been asked to be a part of future films?
MR: (Chuckles), funny you should say that so I will tell you what I can. I recently recorded more material for the DVD release of the film. It has to do with the Prequel that will set up the second film.
