Thanks to Toywiz we get to see larger and higher quality shots of the first wave of Transformers Robots In Disguise 2016 Wave 1 Legion Class figures. We get to see robot mode, alt mode and in-package images of Drift, Clampdown, Thunderhoof and Windblade. Clampdown and Windblade (RID version) are seeing toys for the first time.

LOL! And here's me feeling a little bad for having bought a legends-sized Windblade off a third party... If this is the best Hasbro can do I'll happily give Iron Factory the money instead.

I also would have thought that Clampdown would have been Warrior class instead of Quillfire. Don't get me wrong, Quill's great and I'll still get him, but a bigger Clampdown or Underbite would complete the Steeljaw Pack.

To go with the recetly published news of new images for the Transformers Robots in Disguise Legion class figures, we have a brand new toy and characer revealed: Overload and Backtrack. This set was revealed as part of Big Bad Toy Store's big list of 37 new preorders.

Overload is a brand new Deployer mold and Backtrack is a new minicon. The listings also reveal a new Blizard strike deco for Deployer Drift and Minicon Jetstorm.Let us know what you think of this new toy!

Last I checked they were on Amazon but only as add-ons

Overload screams Megatronus to me. Possible repaint down the line? I like how they show Windblade with swords but no weapons are included. FYI peeps, don't believe BBTS when they say November for these figures. I'd lean more towards December for them to come in.

Are the deployers cross compatible despite the radically different shapes of the minicons? because that minicon shape doesn't look compatible with drift at all, and I'm wondering what the hell marketing was thinking if they're making the minicons all deployer specific.

all i know is that they're gonna be using the FOC Grimlock mold for a new redeco of RID Grimlock! they seem to redeco other Grimlocks into the RID one of late

Takara is retooling foc grimlock, not Hasbro. They are both handling this line completely differently. Hasbro is releasinf no voyagers.

Definitely isn't. First and foremost he's a decepticon, pair that with the fact that micronus looks nothing like this guy besides their base shape pretty much eliminates any possibility of it being the same character.

Overload appears to be based on the cartoon model of the illusionary Decepticon that Micronus used to train Optimus in the Realm of the Primes back in "Out of Focus", but given a proper head.

This isn't to say that that illusionary Decepticon was Overload, or that Overload might appear in season 2 using this cartoon model. Rather, it's just to show where the design for Overload's toy comes from.

Likewise, Backtrack is based on the spherical Mini-Cons this illusionary Decepticon was equipped with.

I'm feeling the way Overload's launcher gimmick appears to disappear in bot mode. I'm assuming its chilling backpack style? That roly poly minicon looks like a lot of fun and it would be cool to make a little army of those guys.

Do we know if there will be any others that share the same gimmick as Backtrack? I see there is four new minicons with no pics (Hammer, Kickback, Swelter and Slipstream (redeco?)) and then there are the other two that become weapons (Windstrike & Blu?). I'm super curious to see what Kickback looks like.

RID seems to have a fever and the only prescription is... more minicons! :MINI:

Windstrike and Bludgeon aren't part of the Deployers assortment. They're a different assortment.

Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm on mobile (obviously) so limited resorces. I cropped it and cleaned it up, but that version didn't work. This was the only one that did.

I personally am a fan of them doing minicons that become weapons. I will buy both since they make nice weapons
