In Australia, There is a radio station that goes by the name of Triple J. On tuesday afternoons they have a guy come in and talk about all of our favourite tv shows from the 80´s, and this week it was transformers. On Wednesday, they were contacted by a gent from the UK who, with a lot of help from some friends and a large bank loan, built a working transformer out of two APC´s. It was, of course, Optimus Prime, and apparently, they could get him to transform and stand up. The guys said that as soon as Hasbro got word of this unbelievable creation, they threatened to sue the pants off the creators if they ever used him. So Optimus Prime is apparently sitting in a garage somewhere in the UK, gathering dust.
Could this be true? Does a real-life Optimus Prime (or Convoy to our Japanese readers) exist in a garage in the UK? Some of you may recall a similar rumor floating around a couple of years back (before yours truly was around to help keep track of such things). Such a think would definately be possible, especially considering Optimus Prime´s fairly simple Transformation, but it would take a pretty good chunk of change to make it a reality. Then there´s the problem of getting it to stand up. As with many rumors, this is "Definately possible, highly unlikely!"
