Grimlock looks to be improved by adding shiny metalic to his midsection & the claws on his feet.

Other than that.....yawn.

While the decos are a bit different, I don't know if they are much "better". I put some side-by-side pictures together for comparison.

Looks like Skywarp-2 got his wish on Prime.

BB looks allright, but I actually like the version I already have better. The white lines help the overall look for me.

Grimlock is sorta tempting tho. Even though there doesn't look to be signifigant paint differences the shoulder clips might be assembled correctly this time.

Not bad, it almost looks like prime has a resculped head. Idk maybe it's just me :-?

The Prime is different enough for me to get him.

Not impressed with BB at all and I'm not as wild about Grimmy as others seem to be, so I'll pass on both of those.

I just pre-ordered Prime, Mirage, Megs, and Screamer from CapturedPrey.com. I'm curious to see what the others look like.

Here's hoping that Megatron will get his classic color treatment. That would be worth buying. Also, without the weird goth "eyebrows."

Wow, is that chrome paint on them? Oh well the only figures I’m looking forward to is Megatron and Starscream. The rest aren’t enough change to be worth a rebuy.

Meh, not really any major changes. Not worth a second purchase. Especially Bumblebee, he's just too plain. The only I'll probably get is Megatron if he's in his G1 silver, black, and red color scheme. Would be interesting if Takara releases a character repaint Hasbro has not, like Sunstorm or Nemesis Prime. Probably the later, since we all know how much the Japanese love their Black Convoys.

BB looks better but Prime and Grimmy look the same. I wont be going out of my way to buy BB.

For once I'm actually gald I got the Hasbro version, still I'm interested in what Megatron and the other Decepticons will look like...

Megatron is probably the only one I'd get, with the possible exception being if they release a Thundercracker.

I'll wait untill they release pictures of megatron to get intrested although grimlock does look somewhat better.

Well, it's good to know that I'll be saving money on these. I actually like the decos on the Hasbro Classics much better. At this point, the only TakaraTomy Classics TF that I think could prove to be a must-buy for me is Megatron, and that will hinge entirely on whether he features a color scheme more like his G1 counterpart.

Yeah, I'm kinda hoping for T-cracker myself.

& before anybody says anything about the legal problems with Botcon Thundercracker....all I have to say is Cybertron Excellion(for those of you that don't know, Takara made an exclusive variation of Galaxy Force Excellion aka Cybertron Hot Shot that was repainted to look like G1 Hot Rod. Since Hasbro couldn't legally release it to drooling fans in the western world, they made one with a varied paint job that still gave fans what they wanted. It would seem possible that if Tomy/Tak wanted to, they could do the same.)

I'm curious about the Takara Megatron, heck, even the Chinese knockoff guys did a better job making Classic Megatron look like G1 Megatron:

What we really need is a "Premium" series Classic Megatron in metallic silver finish.

Call me blind, but as far as these three are concerned, I don't really see a HUGE improvement.

Truth be told, I think a lot of people are forgetting the fact that these aren’t meant to be big improvements,
they are meant to make it easy for Japanese people to get the figures.

Grimlock is nice, but none are so different or better as to warrant a purchase, which can only be a good thing at this time of year!

The Prime looks good. Seems like his front bumper and grill is chrome and I like how his silver detailing wraps around the front of the cab. Also the weather vane looks better more red than
50/50 red and silver.Personal opinion.
His import price is more than I am willing to pay for this considering I paid 11 dollars +shipping for the Hasbro version.
I look forward to seeing Megatron as well.
As for the people that speculate that all the Classics
won't be released(minus Botcon). HAHA.. When these were first released these are the ones that Hasbro put out first. I have
nothing but faith that tells me Takara won't miss the boat when it comes to releasing molds I'm sure they can have easy enough access to.

*Get them* as in physically bring it to them, overcoming legal problems & such, putting them in stores, or *Get them* as in understand them, as in, "Oh, I get it, they're remakes of G1 figures"???

Get them as in little Japanese guy goes to his local Lawson for a beer looks and “oh wow, those are those robots I bought when I was a kid.” goes home and enjoys a cold one while reliving the most precious moments of his childhood with Grimlock.

Alot of people are asking for a Siver Megatron, Me I hope for a pewter/gun metal gray and black figure.

When I look at this figure, I just think semi sheer gray.

Nah, I'm just used to Takara's releases, overall, having better paint apps, far better, than the domestic release versions. However, I'm surprised to say that, with regards to what we've seen so far, Hasbro's versions were pretty excellent and the Japanese detailing upgrades aren't as massively more impressive as, say, GF Vector Prime vs. Cyb Vector Prime.

I never expect Takara to outright, purposely "try" to improve a figure, they just end up doing it with their higher amount of paint applications etc.

I do, however, Expect Megatron to be in more G1 reminiscent colours, due to safety regulations being drastically different between Japan and, well, almost everywhere else.

Ok, so the second. At that I have to ask.....what's not to get about the classics & their slightly different colorschemes? Just about every one I saw was immediately recognisable as the intended updated character...(I say just about because I always have trouble keeping the coneheads' names straight)
