I managed not to reveal the subject of the second (or three) Spotlights I’m currently writing for IDW, but did let slip that (within the covers of that same un-named Spotlight) a certain Fortress Maximus makes his full IDW debut (albeit in a supporting role).

I'm very interested in who everyone thinks that this Spotlight will be on... could it be Scorponok? Could it be another Autobot Headmaster (who is not yet a Headmaster)???

You reckon Furman is throwing us a screwball by saying that Fort is only a backing player?

I'm just a hoper who doesn't wanna see him get smacked around like Omega did!
Both Max and Omega are some of my favorite bots(I have a thing for the bases), and Furman has a thing for downgrading them.
I figured if Max got his own spot, he'd just be more likely to get the respect he deserves.
I could see it, Fort Max dusts off Omega, and calls for Metroplex as to help raise his spirits. They all head towards Furman's house, step on it and play catch using him for the ball!
That would be a great issue

That an excellent point, Hardhead did kinda come out of nowhere to just arrive on Earth...

Can't wait to see what they do with the big guy

I dunno, Metroplex kicked a fair amount of buttock in that UK story where the Quintessons used Arcee as a trap to get the matrix out of Rodimus Prime. Hot Rod activated Metroplex and the quint invasion was wiped out very smartly.

apologise. the one consist thing in the spotlight issuse's i've read, is that there are going to be some of the bots scrapping, so i woulda thought that it'd be with scorpanok!

At this point we have 3 headmasters in the universe...Scorponok, Nightbeat, and Hardhead.
Curiously enough, none if them appear to be headed to become the 'first' headmaster. That honor seems to be headed in the direction of Sunstreaker, but we don't know that yet.

You have forgotten about Skullcruncher, who was in Stormbringer.
According to the VSD, Apeface is in Megatron: Origin as well, though I missed him.

True, I suppose, I was thinking of folks with major parts.
I'm kind of hoping if it is not a Fort Max Spotlight that it is Chromedome, or Highbrow. They were always my favorites, although if you throw junior HMs in there, I would like Siren, or Minerva to be it.

What exactly has Hardhead done that's considered "major"?

His name has been written in bold text?

"Pornmasters"? They probably will but I don't see it happening for a while. I think they'd rather explore characters that exist on the periphery of the main book.
Like Optimus Prime.

Well, he was featured on a cover for one thing. Been a part of battles, etc., etc.

So? Lots of characters have appeared on covers, some of them not actually ending up as part of the story. As for "been a part of battles", all he's really done of note was slag Astrotrain (and who hasn't done that), and get his skid plate handed to him by Megs.

So you are telling me hasn't been more mainstream than someone who's been in the background of an issue?

was fortmax comparable size to... Scorpinok?Orin_Thomas wrote:and Furman has a thing for downgrading them

Considering there toys matched up and Magnus is only a head shorter than Scorpinok in comic, the only foe I could see him go up against is a renamed...
