Real Devastator has found some information on Asian fansite HK-TF.com alerting collectors of an apparent KO of the Takara Mickey Mouse Transformer. As with many other knock-offs, this one is oversized at 16cm tall. From the image, it also appears that there will probably be some changes to the paint application, potential issues with paint quality, and major differences in packaging. No word yet on when it will be hitting the streets or where it will turn up.

This looks a lot better than the acurately sized KO that's already been seen. Colours look good, Mickey is there (so presumably in both modes?) and the stated size I prefer to the tiny original. I bought an official one as a birthday present for a mate who's Disney mad but the price tag has meant not grabbing one for myself as it's just too much for a niche item that doesn't really fit with my overall collection, but if the price is right on this bigger version I'll consider grabbing one.

Seems pretty risky for the producers of this knock-off: not only infringing the rights of Takara, but especially on the copyrights of Disney and the usage of Mickey Mouse. The size-difference might take care of some legal smallprint as far as Takara's rights are concerned, but (ab)using Mickey Mouse's image should certainly focus some legal interest on this knock off (especally when combined with the additional new interest in TF's due to RotF).

It's toys like this and the 250.00, comic-colored Grimlock that make me think that Takara is coming close to jumping the sharkticon.

I guess you've never been to China
Me and my fellow KOllectors have been posting our KOllections over on the
KO Thread, I need to do a count on how many KO's I have, but I have over
2000 pics of KO's on my site

There were ROTF KO's before the movie came out
I'm hoping they make an oversize
Xi Yang Yang Sheep Cartoon version of this next lol
Even awesomer would be if they put a
Thomas The Train head on it, or a
Yao Ming head

Is anyone else amused that this Knock off is "Mickey Mouse". A term commonly used to describe something that is cheap and badly made.

Where do you find something like that? How much would it cost?
