James Avery, known best for his role as "Uncle Phil" on the show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was interview by Unscripted, where it was revealed that he will be playing a character known as Silverbolt.

I agree. Beast Wars Silverbolt is the best incarnation of the character. I certainly hope for this too.

Silverbolt was the Japanese name for Armada Blurr... so technically.. Blurr is in TF3.

silverbolt will probably be a decepticon west highland terrier with streaky fur that wants to hump mikealas leg knowing him.
its catchphrase will then be "look at my GIANT balls !"
im hoping like the rest of you that he's taking on board some of the criticism of ROTF but seeing as it made near a billion i wont hold my breath.
on the OP.
I like the guy. i think he's got a great voice and he can do gravitas well so if they DO go with the aerialbot leader he's a good choice.

Very true. But let's hope this Silverbolt has his Beast Machines form, which is clearly the penultimate form of Silverbolt.
Good voice, by the way. I think he's got a neat voice and ought to work out well for TF3.

Didn't he voice a BW charcater? I could've sworn that he sounded like the Optimus Primal or whatever that guys name was.

Though i`m no long-time fan, and don`t really have any idea of what the Aerialbots are, i think his voice sounds good. Let`s now see if Will Smith gets the role as Grimlock...

Now the question is like many have asked, will it be the Aerialbot or the BW version?
I don't think Bay will throw in a Beast alt mode again (Ravage was awesome!).
If he does go the Aerialbot road, will he STILL be a Concord jet? That would make Silverbolt huge and if they do combine into Superion....my God he would be ginourmous and dwarf everything.....

Well, seeing as a cassette player has become a mutant satellite-hacker, Starscream has become a dorito-body chicken leg wimp to Megatron, who is a flying tank and a wimp to the fallen, Devastator has balls and a snake-head, Skids and Mudflap became abominations, Jetfire became an old hag Decepticon-turned Autobot, The Matrix turned into a spike key to destroy suns...I wouldn't count on Silverbolt to resemble his past carnations at all. Not that I didn't love ROTF, or think the new designs, voices, and some personalities were great, I'm just sayin'. Besides, whatever character they decide to base him on, unless he's a major character, it's not like you're gonna see it very much.

You know, it would be cool if they COMBINED the features of the two major Silverbolts: A campy noble knight with acrophobia. THAT would be an awesome character, and Uncle Phil's voice would be PERFECT for that.
Sadly, we'll probably get something lamer than even Energon Superion Maximus.

I'd find this news mildly interesting if he was going to have more than 2-3 total lines and appear for something more than 20 seconds. Bay will probably ask him to do his part with a stupid accent to boot.

This is a great casting for a TF character. Shedder as a TF? Fricken awesome. Raphael was a TF as well (and a Aerialbot to boot

Not a bad choice. Hopefully there will be a personality developed to match the voice. But what am i talking about, this is Bay. Silverbolt will probably get blown away in a big battle without much screen time. And I think he will be a jet, Concorde or not, because I remember a shot in RoTF that lingered on an "Air France" Concorde in the museim where Jetfire was. And the alt. modes of the other Aerialbots were there as well. And Bay is not beyond slaughtering a gestalt.

Though I'd loved if Scotty McNeil had the role of Silverbolt.(Charles Adler who played G1 Silverbolt is oddly Starscream in the movies already.)We'll see what happens. Silverbolt was always one of my favorite characters, both versions of him. It be nice seem them borrow aspects of both of them. Even if Silverbolt is the only member of the aerial bots we get, I can live with that. I'm just glad see the Autobots gets their resident air commander, and possibly cool fight between him and screamer hehe.
I thought be cool if they brought in Depth Charge too, then they can have a air and naval battle.(he already has a movie verse toy.)
