Good casting. This movie is looking better recently. Awesome posters (featuing the best part of the movie so far..Optimus Prime's head), Hugo Weaving and Keith David.

Next their going to tell me they redesigned Starscream! Please!!!:)

I liked Keith David in Halo 2. He should be a good fit.

Keith David is an awesome VA and i cant wait to hear him voice Barricade

He should have done Brawl. I cant see Spawns voice comeing out of Barricade.

This I am actually psyched for. I am a big fan of his work on Gargoyles and Justice League. I think he will do a great service to this movie.

With his manhood hanging out he said to Jennifer Connelly " I know it's pretty,but I didn't take it out for air baby. " He needs to say it in Transformers!!

I am really happy with this. I can imagine his voice for that role quite easily based on his past work.

Cool, sounds good. I could picture the guy who did Atlas in Teen Titans as doing Barricade.

I hope he ties two autobots together in a doggystyle pose to a merry-go-round. That would look pretty damn sweet to me.

Yeah, this guy is good. His voice for Goliath on Gargoyles was really fantastic. If James Earl Jones dies tomorrow, this guy would probably be the voice of Darth Vader wherever needed. As for Barricade, I don't even know how many lines the guy has. I have to admit I was getting the impression most of these robots weren't going to talk much in the film. To me, there's nothing worse than a silent robot. I need to hear classic lines like "Back away! I will deal with this Jedi slime... MYSELF!" or something of the sort. Guys like ... wait, what are the Decepticons' names again? Oh yeah. Brawl, Blackout and Bonecrusher (what idiot decided to have all their names start with "B?" Is it "B" for "Bay?" Ugh)... I haven't read any scripts, but I'm afraid their lines are going to be as bad as Bane's (there's that "B" again) in Batman & Robin. Examples include "Bomb" and... wait, were there any others?

There were some rough scenes shown way back, that showed Shia cringing away from a crane of sorts (which would later have a Decepticon CGI'ed on top of it), and Shia was whimpering about "Not knowing anything about any artifacts". Since it seemed like the perfect time for Barricade to be tormenting the little fleshling, I could imagine the kinds of things Barricade might be saying. Now, picture that evil police car snarling at the human before him, and Keith David's voice growling something along the lines of,

"Tell me, you pathetic sack of meat, *where* is the artifact?!?"

For me, the most noteable presence of Ol Keith were the two Johnny Carp's movies They Live and The Thing. But I am glad to see they had put some thought into the voice casting.

I just saw a Steven Siegal movie from the 90's that had Keith David in it. Ah such memories...

I'm glad they added him to the line up for the TF movie. He has a great voice.

That's great! I love his VA work, not so much live. Except in Crash, that was a good movie and probably why they chose him to play Barricade. B/c he was bad cop in Crash, now he's a bad cop car in Transformers.

I like the Barricade design and he seems to be an appropriate voice actor.

The film seems to grow increasingly solid.

It still remains, though, IMO, that his voice would have been better for a larger Decepticon such as Brawl as other posters have already stated. The booming and deep command that his voice sways might seem weird from a small car TF.

Got a bit of a theory on the VA selections thus far.

It seems so far that they're choosing 'strong' voices.

Peter Cullen = Strong Voice
Hugo Weaving = Strong Voice
Keith David = Strong Voice

Frank Welker = Soft Voice

Frank Welker, despite his enormous talents, is a cartoon voice. Unless he dredges up skills we haven't seen yet, he couldn't carry a main character in this film.

Cullen, Weaving and David have very strong voices. They can project 'through' the figures seen on the screen. The movie 'formers aren't very humanoid, facially, at all. The normal visual cues aren't there so it's not enough to just take something non-human-looking and make it talk - like many films do with an animal or latex alien or regular humanized 3D figure.

In order to carry proper weight on the screen, the voice has to pull the viewer in, to make them accept the entity on the screen as real in its own right and not just pay attention to it because it's talking. A soft voice is going to have a lot of trouble with that.

That's a choice I am ok with. He's a good voice actor...pretty good as the Arbiter. Dosen't he also do some commercial narrating for cartoon network? I was thinking that yesterday when I was watching Riddick, which is kinda funny considering that I just watched that & now see he's going to be in the TF movie. Weird.....

So I take it they decided to give the Decepticons some dialogue then? Excellent. This movie has just gone up in my expectations.

There's a rumor floating around that Will Smith will be Jazz.

It's just a rumor, though, so take it with a grain of salt or two.

Good to see that they got a actor with class for this role. The guy has a cool voice.
