TFC has posted a couple new images of the prototype of Hercules member Dr. Crank.
If you are familiar with Transformers Generations 1 Constructicons, Dr. Crank looks similar to Constructicons Surgical Engineer - Hook.

The new images showcased Dr. Crank in both robot and vehicle mode. Dr. Crank is also to form the chest part of the almighty Hercules.

I really hope that these colors on Dr. Hook have nothing to do with the final colors. Makes me worried that we have not seen either of the 2 finish Hercules guys in anything like this.

 That is an awfull pink how is that going to fit in with the colour scheme.

lets hope it has nothing to do with the final design.

It's a prototype, dude, people would have TFC's "head" if any of those colors are on the final version, not to mention, there are already some green protoype pics of him.

Im liking the new Hook so far. I hope they dont use that purple on the prototype though. Too light.

I suppose there's a "G2 colors" joke in this somewhere... (And for the record, I'm well aware that the prototype above is not the final color scheme.)

Really, guys? You really think they're going to f*** up a $600 figure by using those colors? 8-} The color scheme has already been shown with the release of Exgraver. The only real question left regarding color is what color will Mixmaster's barrel be? That and maybe which parts might be purple as opposed to green?

Naw man, he's fighting breast cancer. :grin: He is a 'Doctor' after all. 8-}

Looks cool, I think I like his design the most so far, especially the head mold. Ah, if only I could afford/display these...

Astronopolis wrote:looking good, im just curious about that little door on the toe, any idea what thats for?

It has a tab on it, I'm guessing it has something to do with the combination.

Um, very interesting prototype colors. :P Otherwise, very nice looking. But I might end up getting Mixmaster first, Scrapper, then this guy, Scavenger, Long Haul, then finally Bonecrusher since he's the lamest looking robot mode. :P

If you actually wait to buy them in that order you might be paying a shitton of cash on the secondary market... Unless they ultimately do a box set and you buy them all in one shot.

^^ i agree.. that's why i bought into Herc now. for one, i don't know how long the production run will be. if i wait for things to be completed, there could one or two of them that's always out of stock.

and two, resellers might put a premium on them...

i don't want to repeat what happened to me with FP Bruticus... :BANG_HEAD:

That's the one thing that's keeping me away from these guys. Might get my first job soon (funnily enough, Toys "R" Us), so that will get me up to speed. ;)

Still on the fence about getting these guys, mainly because I think Herc is looking a tad bit flat at the back of his head, considering that they had to incorporate it in the alt mode. :-?

People will find any reason to complain. The whole point of these guys is all the pieces are stored, even the hands/head.
Please don't get it. That will leave more for me. I see its value.

Who poses a figure showing the back of the head?

And people will find any reason to get hostile just because I'm stating my uncertainties. Seriously man, you call THAT complaining? Really? I actually find them to be quite the work of geniuses, but with Maketoys teasing their version of Devy, I can't really decide yet.

I just need to see some side view of it, that's all.

So far, it seems, my only real complaint about any of the figures is that Dr. Crank's crank is a little bit massive. I do, however, appreciate the accuracy to the real vehicle. Also, the Hercules head being incorporated into Alt Mode is a very appealing feature to me (one of the reasons Hot Spot was my favorite Gestalt leader.)

Personally i like the pink, darker pink, and blue together. But i like crazy colours on TF's.
I desperately want this prototype in my collection.

I see one potential "devastating" problem. The connections for the two shoulder members on Dr. Crank's may not be strong enough. The plastic housing the metal pins is too thin.

From the wiebo page of jeffyzhong we have an image of all six members of TFC Toys Hercules team lined up side by side. We see completed versions of Heavylabor and Exgraver along with prototype and test shot versions of Neck Breaker, Dr. Crank, Mad Blender, and Structor. While we've seen all of these guys before, this image let's us see how all the team member measure up to one another in their individual robot modes. Image mirrored below.

Additionally, site sponsor Robotkingdom have updated their release date for the next Hercules member, Heavylabor, to around mid-October. He was previously scheduled to release mid-September.

they all look pretty good and detailed. all pretty much the same height, just like in the cartoon. hopefully they come without any defects since they are 100 bucks a pop. quality should NOT be an issue.

I keep going back and forth on whether or not to invest in these guys.

Pros
It's a huge Devastator.
They're green.
TFC did replace Scavanger's shovel for free.

Cons
The price.
Not in scale with Classics
No cartoon homage except for Scrapper.

And the big question - How will Devastator hold together once he is assembled?

They seem to be the same wings as on Devestator's chest shield, so they're probably removable.

With you all the way on this. I'd add as a con that the combined Devsatator looks very Soul of Chogokin-not a good match for Classics figures, especially since the separate figures look very G1.

And based on how long my TFC GoW2 gun welds held together, I'm still afraid of their long term durability (mainly the connection points).

I think these are a great match for the classics line. I mean each one is almost the same size as Prime. I mean in real life these things would be larger than a Tractor Trailer Truck. Also The comined form is going to be huge. Sure the actual scale should be a little larger if you want it in scale. But look at G1, the original devestator was tiny. Also the actual classics devestator is crap.

I think this guy will suffice as a classics Devy but I think the individual bots are a little blocky to match the Classics aesthetics.

Nothing's blockier than Universe Inferno / Grapple. Not really Classics per-say, but Label Soundwave is also blocky. And let's not forget the blocky glory of City Commander.

I don't plan on putting them with the Classics guys, anyways. This is just a super nice Devastator. Which should say a lot since I am almost exclusively a Classics collector. I'd rather just get another FP upgrade for the REAL Classics Devastator, because personally I liked it already, but elbows would be nice... Like Superion. God, if any set needed an upgrade it was that one.

When I get my house back in shape, I will be trying to put some of these individually on the shelf as Classics. I think they can fit, but 'my classics' may not look like 'your classics'. I have pieces from ROTF in it, as well as UNIVERSE, CLASSICSs, UNITED, HENKEI. But I may not be as particular as some folks. I mean if you have an Animated Arcee in there, or an Armada Tidalwave, you can stick this in there.
