The "theme/gimmick" for this line should've focused more on the Quintesson's IMO. But if "Bridges" where their focus then it should've been Space Bridges.
If 5-10 of those Microbots had a 3rd mode that combined to make a Space Bridge with Deluxe figures like Ironworks and Air Razor playing a part in it, then I'm sure they'd be flying off of shelves.
Quintesson's ranged from Human to Scout size in Season 3 not Voyager class... Allicon's should be Voyager, Gnaw/Sharticon's should be Deluxe while Quintesson's should've been Micro Masters or Legends class with a Scraplet alt-mode. And every last one of them would've sold like hotcakes.
True or not..?

Why should the Allicon be a Voyager? They were roughly the same size as Kup and Hot Rod in the movie - and much smaller than Ultra Magnus on the show.

Also when you say micro bots, are you on about the Micromasters or battle masters like Sound Barrier? I'd think it'd be pretty silly for the Micromasters to turn into that my self. After all, they're needed to man the bases.

I enjoy the little base building aspect of the Modulators because they're neat little $20 bases, designed to be bases, as opposed to the $50 scrapheaps from Titans Return. Plus, not every kid is going to the $150 Titan class figures for the Micromasters and Battlemasters to operate, so these are a good alternative.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like that we're getting a cheaper way of city building as opposed to using the (mostly) forced base modes from Titans Return, and trying to figure out how to force the Titans to work together for a city. Plus, I can't wait to have a little display with Omega, Sky Lynx, and the Astro-Squad all getting ready to launch. I would include Astrotrain, but I kinda prefer his Train mode.

The same reason Springer is a Voyager. I can post about 5 pictures from Season 3 where Springer, Kup and Blur are the same height. Plus Voyager class Allicon's IMO would be bigger threats and better quality.sol magnus wrote:YoungPrime wrote:Not a fan of the Air Razor figure at all.

There's also the possibility that by making it a deluxe, they're thinking of the fans who will be troop building.

Who said they still can't if it was a Voyager..? 7 Different SIEGE Seekers flew off shelves last year. Plus an 8th one (Hot Link) doing well to. All of which are the same mold for $30 a piece.ZeroWolf wrote:It could be argued that Springer isn't just a voyager because of height but for parts count to help with the triple forming aspect, there's always more to it then height.

But I'd be okay with this current Allicon if the alt-mode didn't looks like this:

Hopefully it's just not proper transformed because the initial plan to buy 4 of these is plummeting to 0. But feel free to buy as many of them as you like.

ZeroWolf wrote:People bought those seekers because they were different characters of a type that has 17(!) variations. It's harder to get people to troop build at a voyager level because of price and space. Plus I think there's little hope of a mis-transformation there but who knows till it shows up in stores. I'll be getting mine online, little hope of UK bricks and mortar getting it in.
The price of them is still relative.
$30 a pop!
So I believe the same people who spent $210+ on 7 Voyagers class Seekers of the same mold last year (4 of them for the sake of troop building since rainmakers only had one feature while Red Wing wasn't on Sunbow at all) wouldn't mind buying 2 or more Voyager class Allicon's if they had made them that way instead of Quintessons.

No it's only the judge and Alicon we've seen so far but there is a listing for a deluxe quint in the Netflix subline and the rumours of the deluxe quintessa (thinking about it, its entirely possible that quintessa and the Netflix one are in fact two different decos of the same toy)

The "DELUXE QUINTESSA" listings already turned out to mean "DELUXE QUINTESS. A.", as in "Deluxe Quintesson Alicon". The specific listings that were "DELUXE QUINTESSA" were revealed to be the Deluxe Alicon. Many are assuming the Deluxe "Quintesson" for the Netflix line will also be the Alicon.

I think what you're saying is "I wish it was like this, not that," but I think it's worth noting that the underlying plan is backwards. The theme for this year is a way to combine the Battle Masters and Micromaster bases into a unifying theme, with bridges/ramps as the core gimmick. For better or for worse, Generations has since 2014 incorporated a "current year minus 30" update to vintage figures. Micromaster bases were in 1989 and 1990, with Action Master partners in 1990. Since Quintessons don't traditionally transform, they fit it in with this cycle's play feature.
I point this out because one of the things I like most about the Generations line, especially in the time since Combiner Wars, is that they incorporate historic play features, new related gimmicks, and unrelated fan wants in a comprehensive way so there's something for everyone.*
(With the caveat that G1 is always better represented than other franchises and brands.)

I would have thought Springer was a voyager because he's a triple changer. Inconsistencies aside, all the 86 cars were generally larger than most of their 84-85 brethren, minus Grapple, Inferno, Ironhide and Ratchet.
As far as the Allicon, and this is just my opinion, they got it right. There's not much to them, really - just another type of Sharkticon. MAybe slightly smarter.

They could be big deluxes, like Ironhide, Impactor or Hoist. Why would they need to be Voyagers?

YoungPrime stated that Alicon should be voyager because it was the same height in the movie as Blurr and Kup, who were the same size as Springer in some season 3 episodes and Springer got a voyager figure. I was just responding to that. And I agree, at least Kup should be the same size as Ironhide. Blurr can be smaller, as I suspect if we do get Blurr in WFC, he'll be a retool of Arcee.sol magnus wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:So should we be expecting voyager figures for Kup and Blurr as well, since they were the same height in those shots?

He did. I said Allicon makes more sense as a Deluxe.
I can't disagree in some episodes Springer was the same size as the rest of the main 86 cast, since they sort of made them all larger for whatever reason, but there are definitely on screen moments where he's bigger than them, but smaller than Magnus. Particularly the movie end scene for one.
I pretty much think HasTak got the size on Springer right. I think they got the size of Allicon right. Switching over to Masterpiece, Hot Rod is (correctly) taller than the 'average' car, but still shorter than Ironhide. Springer would probably be around the same height as Inferno/Grapple, but that's speculation and opinion on my part - to be fair, the toy of Springer was SMALLER than all the 1986 cars, so there's room for argument.
I'm sure somebody will run in with a chair shot to say "scale don't matter" or something.
Posted by LinaNui on May 27th, 2020 @ 3:04pm CDT
Also, can we please stop arguing about the size of the Alicon? Hasbro is making him as a deluxe. If you don't like it get a 3rd party or hope for an upscaled KO figure of the ER one.
Now for a different subject, when do you think there will be more reveals? There are still plenty of exclusives and wave 4 that need to be shown. I personally can not wait to see what other base-formers and obscure characters are coming.

You don't have to do elaborate math and speculation. Hasbro has done product reveals on each of the last three Fridays, for Marvel Legends, Power Rangers Lightning Collection, and Star Wars Black Series and Vintage Collection. Transformers is the only one of their core collector brands that hasn't gotten the treatment yet. I can't promise that it will be Generations versus Studio Series, or mainline versus retailer exclusives, but we will get our reveals anyday now.
Based on the latest MPM news, I would bet money it's going to happen this week.

This possible biggest-ever Decepticon figure deserves some good packaging, and that's what he gets! These shots show off the front and side of the packaging, as well as a shot of the figure standing next to his box. The impressive box art shows the gargantuan Decepticon with Optimus Prime clutched in his claw, with the Ark in the background.

Also, if you missed out on preordering him via Pulse, he's back up for preorder there again. Just click on any of the pictures above to be taken to his Pulse listing.
Does this make the anticipation harder to bear? Tell us what you think below, and se what your optics can spy in the artwork.

It's definitely top tier. Speaking of which...I know there are books which collect original TF Box Art.... Has anyone suggested to Hasbro to TT to publish a book for more modern Toybox art? I'd love to have a coffee table type book that had all the art from Unite Warriors, the Titans, even most of Hasbro's standard releases going back from CW to current are pretty neat.
