We have some surprising news regarding Hasbro's Titans Return Chromedome. Jedi Kermit from the TFW boards found two sealed Chromedomes in Walmart with the Takara face.

Fellow Seibertronian Sabreblade breaks this down for us:

Jedi Kermit found, at his local Walmart, two Hasbro Chromedomes... with the TAKARA face mold! Not a joke. Not a toy-swapped return. Two actual, MOSC Hasbro Chromedomes that have the Takara facesculpt.

He picked one up and took pics of it still in its package:

Take note of the stamped code in this third pic. 63161. It might be key here since the one in the Seibertron gallery has no stamped code:

Well, keep in mind that his name was only on one of the many, many rumour lists that were floating around a few months or so ago. Since this rumour list didn't come from a particularly trusted source, it's to be treated with a grain of salt and a lot of what's on there might not come true at all.

All Hasbro toys have a Hasbro Canada stamp on the back, its because that is where the packaging is printed.

I'm just realising now how much more bizarre this makes the toy.

This is an original toy-based body with MTMTE Chromedome's colours and JG1 Headmasters Chromedome's face.

I'm really hoping for Hardhead since the character's consistently had a mouth in all Hasbro fiction and the brown on Takara's just looks bad. I'd love Takara's head with Hasbro Hardhead's grey

Shameless plug for my thread over in the customs section, but repainting Skullcruncher made me realize how much sculpted detail is actually on these things, and what a disservice the stock paintjobs are doing them.

Huh...if this is legit, I think I'll buy one to go with the other Headmasters, and to keep the IDW one with Rewind.

I suggest that if you come across one with the Takara Head that has been opened don't buy it. Someone probably bought it. Swapped the bodies of the Titan Masters to get the painted one and returned it.
