Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath we have a picture of Transformers Combiner Wars Deluxe Groove in package. This image comes from weibo user TFCLUB. Don't get too excited, because this could just be an image related to yesterday's Toys'R'Us Taiwan Groove promo. What's interesting here is that the package is using the Combiner Wars logo and is multilingual.

How Defensor got his Groove back.

Also, I agree with the wide-release sentiment.

The real shock would be if it didnt. This is clearly a Hasbro product and designed for release in northamerica, hence why they EVEN INCLUDE FRENCH ON THE BOX!

I hope this will at least be released in canada this time though, since they actually made that extra effort. If not, I hope I can rely on you Cobo to help me out ;)

Now I am really not sure of getting Takara's Bruticus. I could ust get the Hasbro with the limbs on sale and wait for them to release shuttle blastoff (which is what i did with Groove here and it seems like it will pay off).

Sorry, quoting myself from a different thread.

Poor Groove, that is a very uncomfortable splits position to be packaged in.

That seems different. Since those are convention exclusives, of course their going to design a box to make them look attractive.

P.S. i guess the Hasbro website showing a deluxe groove is starting to make sense.

Now we wait for Bruticus to show up on the website to see what they show.

I think I'll be getting 4 deluxe Groove, a 2nd legends Groove, and a 2nd Hotspot just so I can make a groovy Defensor. Rook is my 2nd favorite mold of CW after Swindle.

It's neat that groove is getting a Hasbro release for those who want him but I think Computron has got me covered on that mold.
On second thought he'd probably be better than streetwise. :-?

I'm quite the opposite. I never bothered buying Rook and use AB as one of Defensor's arm's. But best believe that I'm not buying anymore fake team members in the future.

So if Hasbro tries to get cute again and release Predaking with a Moose limb (Bull Wink-scream) instead of Tantrum or Headstrong then all bets are off!

I just don't get how anyone can dislike that Rook mold, Hulk hands and all. You can even use two of them as rollerskates for a combiner, which I plan on doing with my son's and mine after I get deluxe Groove.

Yes how dare Hasbro try something new >:oP everything should stay exactly the same as it was 30 years ago. I for one love the extra team members and fail to see why Hasbro shouldn't be allowed to make more. It's not like these new members prevented you from getting the original team as they were released anyway.

That's not U.S. packaging. That's international packaging.

U.S. packaging for CW Deluxes is monolingual and includes a comic book.

This is more than likely the Taiwan TRU exclusive.

In the interest of not sounding like a spoiled American who thinks we should get EVERYTHING and whines about unfairness the 1% of the time we don't get something that some other territory gets

I think all territories should have equal access to this figure.

Yes, but I would say there are a lot of differences between the remoldings that make them very different toys.

If I get four of them, I will post a picture with that Defensor having Rook feet as well.

Good News folks! After much speculations coming from the in-package photo we saw yesterday (here), it looks like Hasbro is indeed releasing the Deluxe Class Protectobot Groove individually! And it looks like you can already order yours today through a few of our site sponsors such as Robot Kingdom and Premium Collectables. Deluxe is due to be released in May, 2016. Will you be pre-ordering this for your collection? Let us know in the Seibertron.com Forums here, and remember keep your optics tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest in news and updates!

Its still tricky because thats the only one where Hasbro has no interest in bringing the mold over to complete a G2 set. They really beleive their Blast Off to be as good a Blast Off as your gonna get:

I dont think Blast Off being a jet is bad at all, especially when combienr wars is a G1 redux. But the G2 sets are clearly about using the molds which best represent the G2 toys so having Blastoff be a jet there just makes him a redeco of the normal retail G1 redux version, which is different from every other G2 set. So it kind of breaks the theme.

And no I didnt do a top combiner list yet, thanks for the interest :D . I do have a top 5 best G1 combiners in the pipeline, which talks about both Hasbro and Takara. I dont know if I should doanother list as top 5 combiner wars combiners or simply best combiners post G1. Its a bit tough. All of these combiner Wars combiners beat FOC Bruticus (right?), do they beat every other combiner too? Like Landfall? Would BW Tripedicus be the only non CW/UW combiner on this post G1 list? The fact that CW/UW isnt over makes it hard for me to figure it out.

Hence why I found it easier to stick to G1 for this first combiner list.

PS: My questions arent rhetorical, if anyone wants to answer them, please do :)

I think a best re-shell list would be interesting, but good combiners have been hard to come by. Would you include Unicron trilogy combiners in that list if they ranked high enough?

An obvious thought, I know, but perhaps a list of worst/least liked combiners might work as a nice juxtaposition. Or even just combiner methods that while admirable didn't hold up (PCC, powerlinxing, FOC plug ports, etc.)?

The only one I remember from RID that wasn't a G1 redeco was OP and UM (which I loved when I had it before I sold him over 10 years ago). Beast wars was pretty much Tripedicus and the maximal one, right? I never got the animated one because I wasn't collecting at the time, but I've not heard great things about it. Which always begs the question, do you include just two robots in a combiner or do you need more of a team?

Oh there's plenty of good combiners that are not G1. The original RID had some good ones, beast wars, even animated has a decent one(whatever that jetfire/jet storm dudes name was)

RID also had Team Bullet Train forming Rail Racer, similar to Magnaboss and Tripredacus from BW.

If we include 2 member combiners, then technically all of the Energon Autobots apply (though they weren't very good at it).

Rid (or car robots) actually had more combiners than you're remembering in the form of the train team that formed rail racer (three man team full parts integration) and the land fill team (four members, full parts integration. ..I think)

Oh and will, in animated, the combiner was called Safe Guard who only a few liked (like me who digged his symmetrical docking like combination) he wasn't perfect, but I had fun with him.
