Hahahahah.
I mean: according to the excellent and sophisticated Spotlight: Arcee, Cybertronian do not have a gender and their bodies cannot understand gender differences.
Jhiaxus experimented on helpless guinea pigs (with actions that sounds a lot like metaphor of physical abuse) in order to see what would happen if they were programmed as if they had a gender.
This conflict of impulses that could not find a vent in her body turned Arcee into a psycho killer.

And also inconsistent with the other comics; Arcee claims that, aside from her, gender doesn't exist on Cybertron, yet four female transformers appear in Megatron's Origin comic (albeit, one isn't visually identifiable as female).

I am pretty sure they were asked about this, and the answer was, the artists are allowed the freedom to choose characters to put into their backgrounds, as long as they are not on 'the list' that will be used elsewhere.
So basically, it's another TF continuity mistake because Mr. Milne was not in the know about the plans for Arcee (or dialogue for said issue), even though he also did the art for that comic as well?

I didn't see anything inconsistant at all, orther than her not knowing about the other genders, and if the mixture is off, then I see no reaosn why she couldn't have sximply missed them. I don't see why it isn't possible that Haux didn't refine his experimenting or create smethign that could spread, aince we don't know how long they could come and go from the Dead Universe.
I agree it's odd, but it was a unique choice for her being the outcast. For me though, I see the TF gender as something that was just a label picked up from the observations of othewr species in the universe. The stronger bots became "male" since most species that we "see" (all played on TV by humans, but...) mtend for the male to be the bulkier half, and the sprightlier bots became female.

At least you got the right reference for the title.
And one day I will wtite a BSG/Tf crossover. I already have the idea

Probably the only Mosaic I didn't really like, mostly because I hate one character turning into someone totally different with no memory of the previous at all.
And why is Arcee evil? Did I miss something?

Actually, Arcee remembers being Arc, and that's what drives her crazy, literally... she wants to goback toher normal self, but she cannot. Jhiaxus' reprogramming overwhelms her with inputs and feelings that her body cannot understand.

"Spotlight: Arcee" provides the details: she's more driven than evil (and she's attacking a 'Con, anyway!).

Oh sorry, I don't know much about the spotlights and whatnot, relatively new to anything not movie.

Welcome on the comics side and thanks for reading, then!
By the way, there is an official comic explaining how Movie Arcee from TFTM07 (toy line) became the group of three bots seen in RotF.
She was forced to undergo a disturbing Decepticon experiment, like the Twins.

Didn't really know about the Twins' experiment, I need to research it more often.

As for origins of Megatron having females in back ground, who's to say the process wasn't refined and completed Arcee went crazy cause she was the test dummy. Oh and for all the people moaning about a fictional transformer character changing genders, albeit by force. they should look to nature, in our own planet. There are many animals like fish ( sheephead, and certain frogs) that if a certain sex is low in a population will actually change sex to keep species going!

Perhaps more of a reference/tip of the hat to "Simon" Furman?
Posted by M3Gr1ml0ck on July 8th, 2010 @ 12:54am CDT
But I should add that the planet and moon names were created by me. You know, Simon (Reeves) did the original "Spotlight Flywheels" story and left the celestial bodies unnamed. I developed the script for the Mosaic, using all his concepts and adding something of mine.
If you want to find a reference to Simon Reeves, go for the "Veeres" planet

Posted by kriksix on July 8th, 2010 @ 7:33am CDT

and oh yeah Veeres.. that;'s the kinda fing
