Yes, you read that right folks. Despite performing the worst of the 5 live action films and despite a general "meh" feeling about the whole film, it did not win a single Razzie.
We can thank 50 Shades Darker and The Emoji Movie for sparing The Last Knight, as they nearly won every single category. And while The Last Knight may have deserved one of the rewards, we are grateful that it did not win one. For those who are not aware, the Razzies are rewards given to the worst of the worst every year, even though they are more for fun and not really a major competition like the Golden Globes.
Check out the embedded video below, showing the winners, and you can read the list of winners below!
Worst Picture: The Emoji Movie (Columbia) – Michelle Raimo Kouyate
Worst Director: Tony Leondis – The Emoji Movie
Worst Actor: Tom Cruise – The Mummy as Nick Morton
Worst Actress: Tyler Perry – Boo 2! A Madea Halloween as Mabel “Madea” Simmons
Worst Supporting Actor: Mel Gibson – Daddy’s Home 2 as Kurt Mayron
Worst Supporting Actress: Kim Basinger – Fifty Shades Darker as Elena Lincoln
Worst Screen Combo: Any two obnoxious emojis – The Emoji Movie
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel: Fifty Shades Darker (Universal/Focus Features)
Worst Screenplay: The Emoji Movie – Tony Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White; based on the trend of emojis

TLK was such a dead-felt movie, yes, but those other movies up there that won all those Razzies are very deserving of winning them for the garbage flicks that they are.

Emjoi movie? Yeah, lets make a movie about little pictures that are already dumbing down society. How can that NOT succeed?

So I checked that out on google and she was very amused. I think she enjoyed the movie for that and the scenery - I don't thinks he really understands the story (I told her she is not alone in that.)
Yes, it's the butler from Downton. There are other cameos, too. The main woman's mother was the nurse robot from "Humans".
Anyway, the other joke concerning Cogman is that he's both a British Headmaster AND a TF Headmaster (both meanings). Anyone else get that Easter egg?

More like that was an artifact left over from an earlier version of the script where Cogman was likely supposed to have transformed into a head and taken control of the decapitated body of Nitro Zeus during the final battle scene with Cybertron at Stonehenge, but since that didn't make it into the final cut, the bit where Sir Edmund Burton calls Cogman a Headmaster makes little sense in the finalized version, as it referred to his being "a very rare breed" of Cybertronian. Nothing was said of him being an educator, but a lot was said of him being a butler, "for 700 years" no less.primalxconvoy wrote:Anyway, the other joke concerning Cogman is that he's both a British Headmaster AND a TF Headmaster (both meanings). Yes, that's what I said. He was meant to be a Headmaster. However, the Easter egg/in-joke was that his demeanor and nationality (thus use of vocabulary) pointed that he was also a British Headmaster-esque character, too.

I... think that's called stereotyping, dude. Not cool.primalxconvoy wrote:Sabrblade wrote:More like that was an artifact left over from an earlier version of the script where Cogman was likely supposed to have transformed into a head and taken control of the decapitated body of Nitro Zeus during the final battle scene with Cybertron at Stonehenge, but since that didn't make it into the final cut, the bit where Sir Edmund Burton calls Cogman a Headmaster makes little sense in the finalized version, as it referred to his being "a very rare breed" of Cybertronian. Not true. Cogman's behavior is synonymous with traditional British Headmasters:

Besides, even if that were not so, stereotyping him as a butler is just as "bad" in your book, surely?

Eh, maybe there would be some edits to change the black bar inconsistencies and putting in the "missing" scenes, but I'm probably a bit too optimistic for a more "complete" edit of TLK.
As the article states, its not about having a free TF film, its about having a free recent film.

Actually a few reasons, The Last Knight, younger audience is more familiar with TLK, unlike other movies, the fifth one actually have some story, The First movie gets away with a lot only because of nostalgia and first impression, and Dark of the Moon is like the worst movie ever.I don't hate The Last Knight as much as a lot of other people do, but why choose that when the first movie, Dark of the Moon, and honestly even Age of Extinction would be better choices?

I thought I was one of the only ones to think the third film was terrible. It bored me.

The third film is an abhoration. It is also a snooze fest and the worst film in both Francis Mcdormand and John Malkovich's careers.

ALL of the sequels are lousy films.william-james88 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:TurboMMaster wrote:Actually a few reasons, The Last Knight, younger audience is more familiar with TLK, unlike other movies, the fifth one actually have some story, The First movie gets away with a lot only because of nostalgia and first impression, and Dark of the Moon is like the worst movie ever.I don't hate The Last Knight as much as a lot of other people do, but why choose that when the first movie, Dark of the Moon, and honestly even Age of Extinction would be better choices?

Also the introduction with the knights is a crime.

I'm halfway through and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. The animation is terrible, the writing is atrocious, the acting and especially the voice acting feels so forced, there is absolutely no plot whatsoever and the characters are so forgettable. Squeaks is pointless, Daytrader (so far) seems like he was put in only for a terrible joke, they gave the deceptions introductions for what reason? They didn't do anything other than die in 30 seconds. The way Hotrod gets his alt mode is such bullsh*t! That was the laziest thing I've ever seen. I honestly don't understand how anyone can honestly say that this is a good movie. Like I said I'm only halfway through but I can't see how this can even be remotely redeemed.

Dude, I agree. Its no exageration when i say its the worst film i watched last year and the worst TF film so far.

I think the only positives I can pull from this are the baby dinobots were adorable and the lead actress is gorgeous (and I'm fairly certain that's the only reason she's in this).
