Nice review, thanks! Its a shame but the legs look so thin now, and the way that they splay out at the bottom is really irritating. I wonder if this could be solved by shaving off some plastic from inside the 'calf' area?

Looks awesome. Kind of sucks he'll look so weird with his buddy Octane.

Well its worth 22 bucks. But not something to go crazy over. Im confident that Fansroject will give us a proper G1 Sandstorm. Until then Im just gonna use an extra Springer sword for copter mode. Screw that VTOL mode…

I admit, I wasn't planning on getting Sandstorm. Dammit Hasbro, you know I'm a sucker for Classics-themed toys.
It appears he isn't top heavy, that's relieving. The dune buggy looks appealing, and the military nut that is me can't resist that VTOL mode.

I don't think I'm ever going to stop being impressed by the extensiveness of the retooling on this figure. Sandstorm was one of my favourite figures as a kid, and like peaugh I do have a soft-spot for orange.
The back wheels in buggy mode are very big as I've said a few times before, but I'm trying to picture it in all-black in the hopes that a rough similarity to the Tumbler will make me more accepting. Sticking with movie vehicles, the VTOL mode reminds me of the SHIELD VTOLs from The Avengers.
I completely love this figure and can't wait to own it.

I love this mold and am definitely getting the toy. The only thing I don't like is the silver round things above his feet. I am wondering if you can replicate the G1 toy and put the fin above his head.

On the Youtube page there are a few comments asking this and Peaugh has stated that you can do this if you want

This is a nice update to Standstorm! dont care for his buggy mode cause of the HUGE wheels, but I like the update to the VTOL instead of the heli-mode! otherwise it would Springer and Standstorm with two heli-modes and now the VTOL mode that Sandstorm has makes him more distinguished.

Springer kills Sandstorm IMO. I love both their car modes. Looking like some 70s muscle cars prep'd for some dirt track racing.
But Sandstorms VTOL mode.. I find lack luster.
I now long for a sandstorm with Springer legs and the straight up helicopter rotors.
