Unlike what was falsely reported on other Transformers fan sites, the Earthspark line is still alive and well in Japan. We even have some brand new reveals to share with you with Takara revealing the upcoming deluxe Aftermath and Jawbreaker toys. While we should get these toys in the west, their decos may be different.

They also revealed their version of warrior Elita One, whose head can now swivel, and Hashtag.

The changes to Elita are nice (head swivel, no gimmicky arm), but I al wish they'd do a Deluxe Class version of her. The others look pretty nice, though I have zero clue who Aftermath is.

New character coming in Season 2.

Aftermath and Hashtag look amazing and are musts for me just looking at them, new Elita I will probably get too. I've been passing on most of the EarthSpark figures so far but if they improve the figures to be cooler looking in a way closer to Animated (like Aftermath is looking) or even the level of RID2015 figures from what has been on shelves so far I'll def get more EarthSpark stuff.

Slowly catching up on the show, just watched the episode where Hashtag is trying to make a documentary to help Jawbreaker find his alt mode, taking it very slow but enjoying anyway... just wish the figures they have been releasing looked as good as these newer deluxes, I've only picked up a medium size Twitch and Thrash so far from the entire EarthSpark set, hope they update a cooler Megatron too, not sure how good his current figure is tbh though.

May have to pick that Elita because I do really like her Earthsparke look and that version looks great.

Aftermath and Hashtag look surprisingly good.

Haven't really cared much for Earthspark, but may just have to get that Aftermath.

Are we sure that's not the Deluxe Elita-1? That looks like an entirely new figure, if not it should be with all the changes.

It's the Warrior class mold with her right arm retooled to remove its gimmick, a new swivel for her head, new gun accessories, and (like all of the other Japanese EarthSpark toys) loads of extra paint.

More than likely not since Hasbro already released their Warrior class version. This is just Takara's version of same figure, modified to better suit the Japanese market.

It's like how Takara made those unique Targetmaster molds for the Legends releases of the Titans Return Misfire, Triggerhappy, Slugslinger, Hot Rod, Kup, and Doublecross, or like how Takara made those two giant-sized Optimus Prime figures in the Japanese Robots in Disguise 2015 toyline that Hasbro never released.

Though it is odd that Takara seemingly did not give their version of Elita better knees.

Nope, that is Japan exclusive. I will write an article about it now since a lot of people are confused by these new reveals (understandably so)

Transformers fans have been taken for a loop lately since information and misinformation is coming from every direction for the Earthspark line.

Rumours Regarding the Show Itself

When it comes to the show, there were rumours that another show was under development. While that is yet to be proven true or false, it brought upon a ton of theories regarding the current show, Earthspark. As of now, all we know is that Paramount ordered two seasons and we are getting two seasons. We do not know if a third season will be coming or how many seasons were planned. A new show is probably in development but that does not mean that it is in response to Earthspark's performance. It may be that the new show is made ot be more in line with the next phase of the TF franchise, now that Transformers One moves it into a new era.

The Mistranslation that Created Misinformation

Now adding to this was a mistranslation of a Japanese site summarizing what they read in a magazine (so already there we have 2 levels of being stray from the actual source). While some fans interpreted the quote to say that the Earthspark line in Japan was cancelled, the actual quote from the magazine said that the deluxe Prowl figure was cancelled. The line itself is not over in Japan, and instead we are getting something that fans have asked for a very long time: Takara exclusive toys.

Which of the New Toys Revealed Today are Exclusives?

Remember the Transformers Go line, where Takara retooled Hasbro toys exclusive to their market? Well those days are back. DX Elita-1 is not really a deluxe Elita 1 figure. It is instead the warrior class toy we got in the first wave from Hasbro but retooled so that the weapon gimmick is removed and so that her head can swivel. She also gets a great deco treatment. So Takara basically turned a warrior class into a deluxe figure. They are doing the same with Hashtag, which as you can see below has been retooled to remove the combining gimmick of the warrior class figure we are about to get from Hasbro.

Image

Those two toys will not be released in the US or other Hasbro markets, they are exclusive to Japan. And since collector sites are not importing this line, anyone who wants these exclusives have to buy them from a Japanese outlet like Amazon Japan (links below). The two other toys shown today, Aftermath and Jawbreaker, are actual deluxe class toys we will be getting from Hasbro. We have their listings, they are coming out later this year. However, their deco will not be as detailed as the Takara versions. So if you want this exact deco, then once again you must order from Amazon japan or another Japanese online retailer.

Transformers Earthspark ESD-12 DX Terran Jawbreaker https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cg?tag=seibertron00-22& ... sform0c-22
Transformers Earthspark ESD-13 DX Terran Hashtag https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cf?tag=seibertron00-22& ... sform0c-22
Transformers Earthspark ESD-14 DX Elita-1 https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cd?tag=seibertron00-22& ... sform0c-22
Transformers Earthspark ESD-15 DX Aftermath https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cd?tag=seibertron00-22& ... sform0c-22

Hopefully this helped a bit, if ever there are questions not addressed, feel free to join us in the message boards.

TL DR

- There is still an entire season of Earthspark to watch for anyone interested, we do not know if there will be a third season, or if one was even planned.

- The only thing cancelled, either by Hasbro or Takara is the deluxe Prowl toy, which was a redeco of the previously released Cyberverse deluxe Prowl. The Earthspark line is not cancelled anywhere.

- DX Elita 1 and DX Hashtag are Takara exclusive retools and redecos of warrior figures we either already got or will be getting from Hasbro

- DX Aftermath and DX Jawbreaker are molds that Hasbro will also be releasing but their decos will be slightly different

I pre-ordered all four. If I have to I can cancel the non exclusives, but there's always a chance these show up before Hasbro's.

Since Prowl was cancelled despite the line continuing I have to wonder if that means they weren't satisfied with it and are making a new one that’s so different they couldn't justify calling it the same order.

Rumour has it there was an issue with the molding and it couldn't be produced/distributed in its state.

I wonder if there's any validity to that? Considering the extensive mold work they just demonstrated with this new batch of Elita 1, Jawbreaker and Hashtag I can't imagine there's anything too wrong with the mold they couldn't have fixed.

Interestingly, that Cyberverse Deluxe Prowl mold is one of the few Cyberverse Deluxe molds that was only released once and never again. :-?

In the meantime, the Warrior class Jawbreaker toy that's currently on store shelves is a pretty neat figure, too, complete with articulation roughly on par with most Deluxes. I got him back when he first came out as I figured the Warrior would be the only toy he'd get.

So far, I only bought 2 ES figures because I don't want to support "woke" shows with my money.

But these last 3 Takara reveals will make me break my rule for sure. The two deluxes are fantastic and ORIGINAL. Plus double-dipping on that Elita-1 Warrior may be worth it.

If anyone is still looking to get Hasbro's Prowl, he's currently available on Amazon with a 15% off coupon, effectively knocking $3 off his price.

I ended up preordering all 4 of the Takara reveals. Jawbreaker is my favorite character in the show, so despite his warrior being a great toy, I will get toy of his to come out. Hashtag is finally full sized and her Takara paintwork and gimmick removal makes her look so much nicer. Aftermath is fantastic looking. And i like elita, so getting a better tooled version of the character and mold will be great

Ditto, the novelty of old skool Takara along with my belief that there will be demand for these down the line made them a must purchase.

Apparently Takara Tomy's Elita 1 has an issue where people are reporting the neck shearing right off. Supposedly a pin that allows it to turn is weakening the plastic causing it to pop off when people turn it.

BTW, the new figures have been periodically showing up on Amazon Japan again and sometimes on sale.

Not shocked, it's uncomfortably tight. Glad they did that change but sucks that the other hardware didn't help it out more. I'm sure they only have a particular set of fasteners to choose from that the factory keeps on-hand.

The head is separated from the back, removed the weapon gimmick, way better paint, storage for the guns on the roof.

Depending of the overall price, it may be worth it after all. I don't care for the different weaponry, but the better paint job fix her #1 flaw.

I'll hopefully share my pics soon, but I got the 4 deluxes.

Elita is definitely worth it, so much nicer, they did a lot to improve her. I love this retool.

Hashtag is a good figure, worth the wait to finally get a good figure of her. The Terran siblings are finally properly complete!

Aftermath is pretty dang neat, though his shoulders are limited, which is a shame because he is quite cool.

Jawbreaker is disappointing, feels like a step down from his warrior. He feels like he lacks refinement, though he is a nice size. Posing is difficult and awkward, and even getting a neutral pose is awkward.

Fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg did us all a favor and imported the 4 new deluxes from Takara's version of the Earthspark line. Now you'll notice both the words Deluxe and Exclusive were in quotes in the title and that's because while these versions are exclusive to the Japanese market, they are all toys that we either got or will get from Hasbro. For Aftermath and Jawbreaker, we will get those same toys in slightly worse decos and the Elita 1 and Hashtag toys are warrior class figures which Takara retooled to provide more articulation, turning them into a deluxe figure.

Here are the reviews:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:While I appreciate the work that went into retooling the figure from a Warrior to Deluxe Class, I think this one can be skipped or wait for a sale.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:This is a great-looking figure. While I miss the forearm blaster I think this is a great update.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:A surprisingly fun figure to transform with a great deco!

Messing with them more, my original opinions have not changed much, though I like Aftermath more and feel more disappointed in Jawbreaker.

Also, have a nice pic of the idealized Terran siblings, minus one.

This line and all the figures are a huge pile of wasted plastic, plastic that could have been used for better figures. But from the pile of this plastic mountain comes a decent looking figure and that is Aftermath. A really impressive figure that should have been a voyager class but still awesome!

The only thing that could have been made better is the firing weapon, it's just too small IMO.

The fact the Takara figure looks worth my dollar takes me back when fans had that same option, to choose the :HASBRO: version or the often superior :TAKARATOMY: version. :VEHI:

The Transformers Earthspark line isn't fully dead yet. We got a whole new batch of episodes last month or so and now we have word that there will be even more toys coming out in 2025. And better yet, these will be deluxes and one of them is Hashtag which means Hasbro will end up giving us deluxe figures of all Terrans. The other deluxes are Spitfire (redeco of Twitch), Cyber Glow Megatron (another redeco), Soundwave and Cosmos. Those last two are especially interesting, as Soundwave has quite the cool design on the show. Cosmos had some really odd proportions so we will see how that is rendered in toy form.

This news comes to us from JTPrime17.

Cosmos is an interesting choice. I haven't watched much of this season of Earthspark, but isn't he only in a few episodes, and mostly as a peripheral character?

Excellent! More Earhtrise deluxes that may (most likely not) randomly show up at Australian retail.

Last new Deluxe ES figure I saw at retail was Starscream last year, last Warrior was Shockwave, last year... Only new ES figures I've seen at retail this year was the Cyber Combiners and the Nerf gun. Good thing Amazon carries them somewhat reliably.

I have ZERO interests in Earthspark.

But that Cosmos...

I hope his toy will be good and will look exactly like that screenshot. If yes on both accounts, it will be an instant buy.

The Cyber-Sleeve Battle Blaster. It uses NERF darts:
