Robot Battlers Starscream and Alpha Trion Among Plethora of Transformers One Toys Found in Canada

I hate that he doesn't have knees, definitely had the room to have them in there

So I found the deluxe-ish Optimus this week, leaving only Bumblebee for me to find.

I adore this figure. The SS figure is technically a better figure, but damn if this thing isn't much more fun. I love messing with this guy. And my now one-year-old daughter loves him too. We spent time playing with him with her little peoples house even










Also, Sentinel and Alpha Trion went nicely into the SS shelf. Now how to figure out how to get the SS Optimus in here

Sentinel Prime is an amazing toy, really surprised by it. I like it more than any 2024 deluxe figure released in more « collector friendly » lines, and it happens to be cheaper too.

He is really cool, it's amazing how cool these prime changers are

My thoughts on what I got so far:



D. Sentinel Prime:
An EXCELLENT figure. I love the throwback to DOTM with his shield. The bot mode is solid and the jet mode is flawless, even from underneath. It was not that easy to figure out his transformation because everything was so TIGHT, but otherwise, it may be the best deluxe in the mainline so far.

D. Alpha Trion:
Look great in both modes, but the transformation is way too simplistic and unsatisfying. Still, a nice nod to Titan Returns Alpha Trion. Also, I find hilarious that the beast mode is horny, and the bot mode is wielding a sword and a dildo as his weapons.

D. Optimus Prime / Orion Pax:
Much better looking than the SS deluxe in both modes, but he's so tiny. He's barely a scout. Why so smol? Plus his transformation is a bit annoying with his arms popping off due to the overtight transformation joints. Plus in bot mode, his wrists would have benefitted from a pin joint because removing the axe from his fist take the whole hand off. This may cause a break if the axe is used too often. This Optimus is the worst deluxe of the 4, but it's not bad enough to be returned to the store.

D. Bumblebee:
Look good in both modes, except for the overlarge feet that leave a big gap in both mode and a huge tail in vehicle mode. His transformation was not too easy to figure out because the arms had to be transformed in a specific order. Appart the small flaws, this Bee is very, very good. The second best deluxe of the four.

1step Airachnid:
Amazing beast/drone mode, but the bot is a bit sad. She have NO LEGS, her dorso resting on a stool. That is my impression. The transformation is simple, obviously, but satisfying.

The overall quality of all these figures are very solid. good paint, tights joints, great look, and they feel premium in hand, compared to the Cyberverse/Earthspark deluxes. My wallet is crying over these purchases, but my heart don't regret it one bit.

I remember sitting with you in 2014 when you told me your idea of what to you qualifies as a perfect transformers toy. And i was thinking of your words while handling Sentinel prime. Nice clean bot mode and alt mode with an elegant transformation to go between them.

But yeah, for me, a PERFECT Transformers is one that not only look good in both modes, but also have a nice, clean, and satisfying transformation.

There are many of them on my list.
And speaking of lists, maybe they could make a comeback?

In the case of my Walmarts, they're evidently waiting for all the unsold stock of ROTB mainline toys still sitting on the pegs and shelves to first be all bought up, when nobody wants any of it.

While the Transformers One line has been trickling in at Target, Walmarts in the US have been slower. Their exclusives have been found though, including the Quintesson toy and this Optimus desk toy which does not transform but goes from Orion Pax to Optimus Prime by changing its head and chest. The toy has been found in the US and Canada for weeks now but if you've been avoiding it and are still curious about what exactly it is, Chuck made a review of the toy which we posted below.

With toy swapping being a common practice, it’s more probable its a swap than a packing mistake

While Target had most of the Transformers One toys earlier than other retailers, Walmart is rolling out display areas for the Toyline. They have toys we’ve already covered, like the well received Prime Changers, but also the second set of Cog Changers (One Steps) along with the cube battle toys.

The images below are from Daimo, and show a Walmart in Virginia.

With toy swapping being a common practice, it’s more probable its a swap than a packing mistake

Thank you for responding The only reason I ask is that the box does not look like it was tampered with at all. The box is clean with no signs of being opened and the tape seal looks like it has never been removed. It's clean and identical in placement to the other figures I bought.
If it is a swap, oh well, still a really cool figure!! Thanks again!

And, in a few months, all this garbage will be available at Ollie's, Big Lots or Dollar General.

Only thing I've seen at my local Walmart is the big $15 Bumblebee. At least they finally moved all of the ROTB stuff to clearance and updated the pegs for the fall reset.

Everything is normal, even in my profile. I just never get emails from that thread. I wonder if I clicked something wrong and there's no going back?

Man, Transformers day was a bust. It's hosted on Walmart.com which is really strange, it's just a QVC style show with them trying to sell stuff on the store. Started most with Three Zero stuff which is fine (it's hosted by their US president so that's no surprise) and a few One figures from them and Hasbro that are already in stores, but then randomly started talking about ROTB and Earthspark stuff that's long since been on clearance. The "big reveal" they teased through the show is a Bumblebee movie DLX Optimus Prime which I guess is going to be available for only a week on Walmart.com and then sold at other events later on.

So yeah, no new reveals, not worth watching. If you wonder the reason why today is Transformers day it's because Walmart apparently said so.

So, I have a bunch of new stuff TFOne toyline related, get ready.

first up, I got Alpha Trion and the Quintesson. Quintesson is alright, and B is fantastic. I wish his ankle tilts actually worked and that area was cleaned up some, but he is really nice. I think B may be my favorite of the 5 Prime Changers








I also got the big energon glow Optimus. And I have to say, he is really really fun. I love the translucent parts, and he is basically fully posable, which is impressive. He is just really fun, I would recommend trying him out








My daughter also loves him



Alpha Trion is also a really fun toy






And finally, I got the takara leader figure. He is pretty nice, though there are a couple things that bug me with him. The face sculpt feels off somehow, and I don't like how small the feet are and how limited the ankles are. Other than that, he is pretty nice, especially the truck mode.

Do you think we'll get the Wave 02 Prime Changers? I thought Starscream was going to be part of the wave.

Yeah, and literally just those four, the Quintesson High Commander is a "Warrior class" figures because I guess only Autobots can be Prime Changers, which would possibly have disqualified Starscream anyway. Gotta love manufactured hair splitting.

Yes they were

But not everywhere, it was sort of a tossup if a store got both or just one. My local Target only got wave 1, my local Walmart only got Bumblebee as part of the big aisle display (with Optimus, AT and the Quint), I've yet to see a Sentinel at retail, got mine from Amazon.

Been messing around with the Takara Prime some more, and it really is a bummer the shoulders suck and his ankles didn't move more, otherwise he would really be nigh perfect
