TakaraTomy Transformers UW-08 Computron Comparison With Hasbro Combiner Wars Computron

Happy Saturday morning Seibertron, what better way to enjoy your coffee with than your old friends: the Computron brothers! Thanks to TFND we have some side by side comparisons of Hasbro's Combiner Wars Computron Collection Pack and TakaraTomy's United Warriors UW-08 Computron. Strangely enough however, TFND decided to pull the 'ol switcharoo on their respective hands and feet, so UW is sporting the newly molded CW hands and feet, while CW utilizes the standard hand/feet molds from the UW set. The timing of this comes as no surprise as UW-08 is slated for release this month, and Hasbro's version has hit shelves and online stores recently as well. Which Computron tickles your fancy? Let us know, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

CW Computron also looks to be wearing a 3rd party head.

Swapped hands and feet aside, this is basically Takara going "Hey guys look how much better our version is"

And yeah, that head on Hasbro is quite the anomaly... :-?

When is the UW Computron coming out? (I know it's supposed to be this month, but it's already the 20th)

The thing is, the Hasbro Technobots set would probably be better off with the standard combiner hands/feet since those figures need some guns.

....hopefully there will still be enough interest in the hasbro one, that the will continue with the sixth figure in the set,

( actually what I reeaaaallyy want now is a remade 'gobots' set using the modern molds)

As combiners? I'd buy that. The combined heads can be based on the Courageous and Grungy Power Suit heads.

Here's what I'm thinking (and I don't care if it's already been sort of done)

Guardians: Leader-1 (Skydive), Turbo (Wheeljack), Rest-Q (First Aid), Spay-C (UW Blast Off), Roadranger (Onslaught), Scooter (CW Groove)

Renegades: Cy-kill (UW Groove), Crasher (Dust Up), Cop-Tur (Alpha Bravo), Fitor (CW Strafe), Snoop (Silverbolt), Bad Boy (Powerglide)

So why did they switch the hands and feet again? Kind of a false comparison this way...

My guess is just to see what it would look like.

The four pics above aren't the extent of the comparison, they're just sample images. The full comparison is beyond the link in his post.

For fun. Bloggers tend to do "Extra Stuff" that don't necessarily make sense, just 'cause. Besides, the most important comparisons are for the figures themselves, anyway.

Fellow Seibertronian Blacklai has taken some very nice shots of the new Takara Unite Warriors Computron figure, including the bonus Takara exclusive art in the instructions as well as comparison shots between the Hasbro counterparts to each component. There are also comparison shots for the new tooling, exclusive to Takara, on Nosecone Strafe which show them next to the original molds. There are also up close images of the new head sculpts, three of which are exclusive to Takara. We can see that some of the visors and eyes have a black outline, probably due to shadow, which was not clear on previous images. You can click here for even more images.
