We have news that the first wave of the new Transformers RED Series figures has been found at US retail. Matty found them at a Walmart in Arizona, these will only be found at Walmart. These are around the $20 price point. The initial wave has Soundwave, Optimus Prime and Megatron. They are all 6 inches.
If you have found them elsewhere in the US, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

I hope most stores avoid these figures. Otherwise, they will eat up shelf space and prevent ACTUAL Transformers from being stocked. I can see RED figures clogging up shelves for months....

True. I think the more important thing to note is what's BEHIND those red figures in that picture...I do believe that's an Overload...

They are walmart exclusive so you won't see them elsewhere

This is Walmart we're talking about, they don't have a clue how to manage the Transformers section. They could be selling WfC Battlemasters, but instead they're selling those same Guardian figures they've been selling off and on for nearly 10 years and a whole column of pegs worth at that! I hope the RED line is replacing those and not another Transformers line.

Besides, you know there's inevitably going to be some sort of exclusive that will be extremely limited, and cost a ton of money, that wont be obtainable for completists like myself. So just sparing myself some anxiety in advance.

so we dont have to spend 30 dollars per figure

That would make sense since the RED figures are basically just more expensive guardian toys in a package

Not really sure she could be considered the most screen accurate ever if the one on screen could transform into a car while this one woldn't.
Anyways, here are the reveals. That Cheetor feels BEYOND useless.

Uhm... o dear. They must have based him off of an incorrect color chart, namely that of the Telemocha release:

Transformers Beast Wars Telemocha Series Cheetor (Cheetas) (Reissue) Gallery
The brown itself is more than likely from the forearms of the original toy:

Arcee is a total slam dunk. I will get her!

This is what Chuck has to say about these:
chuckdawg1999 wrote:If the RED Series was made by any other company it would be a fantastic line of articulated robot figures. The problem is the RED Series is made by Hasbro, the company that set the standard of what articulated 6" scale figures should be. In that case, the first three RED Series figures fall short of what they should be. Yes, they're fun, but they're just not what I was expecting and probably not what you were.
We also have another review from Toy Shiz showing that these are their own new scale.
What do you think of his review? Do you own these figures? Do you agree? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!
Posted by -Kanrabat- on September 28th, 2020 @ 5:21pm CDT
Thanks Chuck. Now I know and I can finally say that's what I expected.
Posted by o.supreme on September 28th, 2020 @ 6:10pm CDT
Chuck- was there any indication of slipperyness or a "film" on the plastic of these figures? Also be fortunate your Prime had straight antenna, I've seen some bent in package.

-Kanrabat- wrote:"Soft rubberry plastics".
Thanks Chuck. Now I know and I can finally say that's what I expected.
To be fair, don't all of Hasbro's 6" figures have that plastic?
So far nothing in the RED line looks as good as Prime Arcee, hope they don't screw her up too much for the final figure.
Cheetor, colors aside, that face sculpt is kinda awful with those long slit eyes. Really should have opened them more. Hopefully when they repaint it into Tigatron they do some new sculpting. But how will Kingdom Cheetor look with this gun?
Really bummed out that the line has no sense of scale when all of the other 6" lines do. No scale, no BAF, no license fees, same price and a really half hearted attempt with this line. I'll probably just get Optimus and Megatron and call it good.

None whatsoever. The plastic felt good, just not Hasbro 6" figure good. I think there might be some confusion. The plastic used for the RED figures is NOT soft and rubbery. It's firm, just not the quality we should expect.

Aside from a few characters that may pop up, I’ll be steering clear of this line.

That $40 is going to be nice to have for either SS86 figures, or maybe even the new MP Starscream.

I would say that's a good idea. If you're still curious about them you can always double back later and get them at a sale price.

Yeah I have a feeling that they won't be that difficult to find once available.
And I'd feel a lot better if I could get each for somewhere around $12-$15.
Preorder has been canceled!

All of the netflix figures were spotted at stores long before pre-orders were filled (and there are still outstanding wave 1 preorders). And people who pre-ordered the Wave 2 Earthrise figures are receiving beauty products and other things like that instead of the actual toys
I've had a theory that I just can't shake, Walmart, Target, etc. will always make sure their brick and mortar stores are stocked before their online sites because they live off that foot traffic.

The more I've thought about it, the more I'm okay with what some consider a lack of articulation;
I don't play with my figures... Especially in this case, it is 150% a display piece.
I don't need them positioned with one leg kicked forward, or doing the splits, or doing some sort of yoga/gymnastics pose... They'll be standing, and yeah, maybe in a semi-dynamic stance, but nothing crazy.
I'll still wait until they go on sale, but I have a feeling I'll end up with both Soundwave and Megatron.

Yeah, but even on sale, we'll see... Looking at all of the MP SS photos has me thinking that funds will need to be funneled toward that guy!
