Many people are bitching about the money and initially I thought it was expensive too until I started THINKING about it. Hasbro's reissue Prime in 02 cost $40. Since this one is in some people's opinion no-better-to-worse the same price could be applied. The DVD is probably worth $15-$20. I remember buying a copy of Season 1 Vol 1 several years ago for about $20. The comic book is probably worth $5. That's a total of at most $65 and then theirs the voice box. So $70 doesn't seem that bad when you factor all that in.
Now to the DVD issue. I played my DVD today and in the what used to be the 3rd part (they've combined the episodes) there was some weird sound effects in the background. I don't know if they were trying to add new sound effects to the show or it this is just a defective DVD but either way it sucks. Add that to the list of complaints about this product.

That's not actually Hasbro's fault on the DVD. It was taken directly from the Rhino ..."masters". They added sound effects to the episodes. iirc.

There is no excuse that is acceptable when it comes to a sad reissue. No wonder Hasbro is going after all the knock-offs; they want to sell them themselves. Optimus Prime has been murdered once again, and so I say so long hasbro, and bite me.

Hero wrote:Hopefully Hasbro will hear the fan backlash on this one and fix the minor color problems with the mold and the later shipments can have this. Then the early adopters will have a "rare" release so they won't feel burned either and everyone wins.

1 - Deco should have been darker. I don't mind shorter smokestacks, but the deco should have been darker. Wether or not the red comes off as pink depends on the lighting, but I can confirm that even with my room's lighting G2 Prime is quite a bit darker than 25th Anniversary. The darker deco thing is true for the trailer also; it should have been a true gray, not a light gray (which was very nearly white when I saw it at Wal-Mart today).
2 - Is Roller supposed to be silver or blue? The back of the box has Roller painted silver; the actual toy is blue. It does say "product and colors may vary" on the bottom left of the back of the box, but Roller is silver (or maybe white) when he appears on the MTMTE DVD as well.
3 - Use the Encore release weapon. It's a lot better than the better known version (which even Pepsi Convoy has).
4 - Package the comic inside the box, not under the flap. Just as transformers_man said on page 8 of this thread:transformers_man wrote:i was at walmart today and saw these on the shelf boy was i disappionted its not worth 70 dollars and the comic book is a flap attached w/ velcro you gotts be kidding me .... glad im gettin one for xmas
I'd actually describe it as being something akin to the comic packs done for GI Joe and Star Wars; the comic is "blister-carded" (for want of a better way to put it) to the flap.

2) Encores' gun.
3) IPOD Convoy's head
Now that would've been a kick-ass Optimus Prime!
Oh yea
4) Take G2 Prime's voice box thingy, paint it silver and the insignia red, but Cullens voice saying "I am Optimus Prime" and "Autobots, transform and roll out" and the transforming sound in it and add G2 Prime's missile launchers.
