returnofplex wrote:Seibertron is right about this one. This reissue is awful, and the price tag definitely does NOT account for quality or pack-ins. The Toys r' us reissue from 02' was better than this toy. Which I believe retailed for $39.99. Theres no way the pack-ins make up that difference.
The voice box by the way, which does feature Cullen, is just his raw voice re-reading a couple of old phrases. There isn't even any of the G1 robotic voice distortion.
I may be alone in my thinking here, but I would have appreciated some upgrades to the original mold. Maybe fix the leg joints, new head sculpt, and if they're so set on accuracy; How about an actual toon accurate color scheme? White thighs, smokestacks, fuel tanks, and grill and bumper. At the minimum blue eyes and a tinted blue windshield.
The collectors who want an original Prime, or close reissue have a ton to choose from, most of which at a better or equal price. They barely did anything to this toy to call it a "special" edition.

It's not "a slap in the face to the fans." Although the next person using that phrase should get a slap in the face.

See? That's what happens when you buy from ebay, you get rejected Test Shots and start whining to other fans about "how hasbro failed you".

Personally, I think if they were going to do a true 25th reissue I would have liked to have seen a lighter blue head and blue eyes.

So Ryan got a rejected test shot by buying one retail at Wal-Mart?? He mentioned that he picked one up this week in the Illinois Sightings thread. Your logic (and research) needs some work.
Nekoman wrote:Oh, these are such surprising comments coming from you of all people. I don’t think Ryan even bought his off eBay.

Why do you have this vendetta against the staff and Ryan?

The right knee on my figure is loose. I haven't figured out what is wrong with it but it stands just fine. It just flops back/down when I'm holding the figure.
There was also a problem with one of the arms where part of the spring inside was sticking out between two of the plastic halves that form his arm. I carefully took his arm apart and put the spring back in properly without any problems. I imagine this problem will be limited to just mine.

Never liked the US reissues of G1 in the first place..

Sorry, that was my term for the Wal-Mart Masterpiece Prime that came out last year. It had that awful orange/red paint job and it looks like a slightly darker version of this Prime.

And that was more orange than pink. Hasbro seems to have issues getting the color red right as of late, lol.
I'm still alittle surprised at the price tag on this. That voice box must be hella expensive to make.

This voice box has to be better than Wal-Mart DVD Prime's. I mean, Chris Rock could have done a better Optimus Prime voiceover.
