Having asked around about this, this appears to be a case of "Action Toys just did it on their own to see if they could get away with it since no one at Warner Bros. would really care that much to make any kind of fuss over it".Agamemnon wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I'm amazed to see this having happened at all since I didn't think they even could do so at first, what with the rights having been split between three different companies, two of which being rival companies even.Agamemnon wrote:Nice! I'm right there with ya! How many things in life are overly complicated due to regulation or IP rights holding. But, since we actually got a VW Beetle MP Bumblebee, I like to think anything is possible. This only furthers the hope!
On the other hand, might there have been some rights lapse or other timing? (Actually, I'm not that curious. This is one of the reasons I have no desire to become a lawyer...)

That price is ridiculous.

Sabrblade wrote:Finally! Colored pics of one of the bigger, non-GoBots-related Machine Robo figures coming from Action Toys: Tough Trailer, whose original toy was made from the toy mold of the mech named Titan Boy from the 1986 Super Sentai series Choushinsei Flashman.
What's more interesting is that Titan Boy was part of a truck-and-trailer mech called Flash Titan that was originally an attempt by Bandai to make their own answer to Transformers's Optimus Prime/Convoy for Super Sentai. When the mold was used to make Tough Trailer for Machine Robo, the original trailer unit itself was not carried over.

This big truck dude is so cool looking. I love how they aren't trying to modernize these. Just doing them better, but sticking to their OG 80's designs.
