I'm about 20 episodes into Blood +. What do you guys think of it? So far, I find it to be an interesting take on vampires.
Also, is it just me or is Keitaro from Love Hina the ultimate victim of circumstance?

It's weird how shows can be like that. Darker Than Black for example; I thought the show itself was largely a snooze fest a lot of the time, though some of the fight were quite good. But I thought Hei's character was brilliant and pretty much carried everything else. It was the mask that really sealed the deal, it made him a creepy and mysterious main character. And while I don't remember much else from it, I'll always remember him.
Whereas in Blood+, I barely remember anything because none of the characters really did anything to stick in my mind. It's a shame.

I thought it dragged on a bit in some places, but it was actually a pretty good series.

Yet to watch the episode, but my understanding was that this series will follow the manga much more closely.
Hopefully it doesn't follow on from the first anime series, since some of the Homunculi were switched around/vastly different from the manga versions.
Kinda weird, the Manga seems to be all but ready to finish when a new anime starts...2 years after the first one finished.
And DB Kai was... interesting, I like the quicker pace, but in some places it is almost too quick a pace. Will need a few more episodes before I can make proper comments on the voice actors and such.

I'm not liking Roy's new voice, his voice just doesn't have the same impact this time around. And I wonder if they gave the role to Miki Shinichiro just because he's a popular name. I will probably grumble about that more as the series goes on.
Other than that I wasn't disappointed in the episode at all. Some of the characters were kinda pushed out there in a rush to get them all on screen but it wasn't done badly I suppose. And I guess that this time around they're thinking there's no need for proper introductions as we've all met the characters before.

All right, now for something topical. As we all should knwo by now, that in a couple days the "2009 cavalcade of fandom hate" makes it next tourstop with the release of DragonBall: Evolution.
Who knew that Spike + bad Romulan make up = Piccolo.
Regardless, If that and the fact that Tobey Maguire is trying to produce a live-action Robotech is bad enough, it looks like this is just the tip of the iceburg.
In my daily news read, I normally check SCI FI Wire, and in todays headlines we have:
"DiCaprio casting Ninja Scroll with Japanese musicians"
"Live-action version of Full Metal Panic anime is headed for the big screen"
Not to mention the recent posts about the North American animated Astro Boy
I'm pretty sure we are in the dawn of the full scale attack on anime and manga by the tapped out resources of Hollywood studios lookign for anything that might put buts in seats and sell DVD's.
What horrors await us in the news releases coming up for this years Comic-con and Anime Expo?
-- Death Note with Zac Effron?
-- Haley Joel Osment and Miley Cyrus are Ranma 1/2?
-- Arnold is Back, and this time he's leading the Tank Police?
Honestly, anything is possible at this point.
Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

I don't care about Dragonball or Robotech, but I hope a FMP movie never sees the light of day. If it does I will have to go and see it, and I don't want to cry in front of a theater full of people.

I saw the DBE movie, or at least the Asian cut of it. It was fantastic. It was absolutely nothing like Speed Racer, if that's what you're worried about. Piccolo is much greener on screen and his voice is pretty close to Christopher Sabat's. The only major difference is his lack of antennae.
So I watched FMA: Conqueror of Shamballa yesterday. It was good. I didn't like how they spent so much time in "our" world that ends up not even being our world because of one major difference in the timeline. Also, Hughes was a Nazi. I did not see that one coming.
I'm watching Gundam SEED again. I was going to do Destiny, but it's been a few years since I last watched SEED so I figured I'd do both CE series in one go. All in all, SEED has less characters that annoy me than 00, and the only one off the top of my head gets blown up near the end of the series. (You may know which one. Hint: Flay)
EDIT: No, wait, I completely forgot about Cagalli.

Arnold would be interesting as Britian, but it's more a question of filling out the rest of cast.

First off, it's spelled "Geass," second, it was damn near the point of this thread when new episodes were still coming out.
I haven't watched it (meaning sat down and watched the whole series beginning to end) since it ended. I might try that sometime in the future.

I still have people I know from when I worked in a comic shop years ago refer to me as their "pusher" who used to help them get their weekly "fix".

As far as my humor goes, that's fairly mild. I have to tone things down for the PG-13 rating on this site. You should have heard the things we said when I spent the week at Tweezy's place. It would make Howard Stern blush.

To be honest, you HAVE to watch the first season before you continue with R2, otherwise half the story will be total nonsense to you.
Anyways, now that I have to twiddle my thumbs until the Gundam 00 movie comes out, I'll be watching the new version of Full Metal Alchemist (which seems to have half of Gundam 00's VA cast in it! heheh...)
Seems odd that two weeks ago that Shinichiro Miki and Keiji Fujiwara were trying to kill each other (Lockon Stratos and Ali Al Saachez), now in FMA they're best friends! (Roy Mustang and Maes Hughes)
