Burn, I respect your request to drop the issue. I ask that you allow me to say my piece, because I haven’t been able to yet. I will, and then I will dead it completely like I tried do to a week ago when our concerns were addressed by Top. I’m feel I’m owed this much, given all the false counter accusations levied against me thus far.
Thank you in advance.
Jumping right in:
In light of recent events, it’s clear who has maintained their integrity and who has not.
I would like to get a few facts straight right now.
As you’ve seen, I don’t know much about the mechanics of this game outside of how to fight hard to earn every scrap I have in this war; and how to rely on other Autobots to achieve objectives that seem unachievable. In my 10+ years fighting the Heavy Metal War, nothing was ever given to us Autobots for free (except that time Psych hooked myself and Cheetron up with 1 test lightsaber a piece.)
Other commanders from both sides can attest to this fact as well. What we wanted, we spoke up about AS A COMMUNITY and
EARNED through challenges appointed to us by Seibertronian High Command.
This was especially true for alt modes.
Anyone who knows HMW knows alt modes are much more than “just pixels”.
Sure, aside from Sharkticons and Allicons they afford no tactical advantage, but they are indeed more than just pixels.
Anyone who claims otherwise is either or not as knowledgeable about the history of HMW as they are claimed, or an outright liar.
This is especially true if said persons are stating this while exploiting the ability to equip any alt, regardless of faction,
as well as alt classes that were singular in nature and only experimental to begin with.Because as you see
here, other players knew about it as well but didn’t exploit it, and they’ve been here long enough to have multiple max level bots.
Simply put: Exploiting that feature was wrong.
That, not me, is the cause of any “ruined games” that might have resulted from the outcome.
I don’t need to be a moderator to say this. I’m an Autobot, a Heavy Metal Warrior, and the newly appointed
Chief Justice of the Tyrest Accord [newly amended], to be exact.
There are Seibertronians of both factions who are not impressed with any snooty, dryer filter lint level flimsiness being displayed simply because some illegal science laboratory got shut down.
Point blank,
Autobots have their specific alternate modes for a reason.
Decepticons have their specific alternate modes for a reason.
High Command are the only ones authorized to administratively reconfigure alternate modes for a reason.
That is how it has always operated here, post Great Reset.
If you’re a non-staff member and wish to implement changes to the set order around here without consulting the staff or the community first, you will be shut down. When you fight in the Heavy Metal War, you fight in it the right way. No short cuts. No cute buzzwords.
No petty facebook posts when people expose you for exploitation.
I, Jack Hallows, keep it in game, on topic, and in missions where it belongs. And I, Jack Hallows, leave the issue alone when it’s done.
We see how you’ve handled things.
You keep it in game, on topic, in missions and earn your keep like everyone else has for the past 10+ years since the Great Reset, and we won’t have ourselves any more of an issue.
I’m addressing this once and for all since bun bun loves so mention me every chance he gets and pretends to know my intentions:
My beef with you was because you were exploiting what we worked hard to achieve here.
That’s it.
That’s what you got called out for.
It got rectified.
I left it alone to let it sink in;
I didn’t bother y’all while you did your whole “Minimus Pixelton’s RDD Amatuer Hour Special” song and dance against our Autobot Science Officer recruit;
Even managed to go without telling you how us military folk generally view those who target the medics in a war;
I just hit the battlefield like I ALWAYS DO.
You dragged this out. Over a week and some
change apparently. I don’t care. Use all the manipulative language you want to attempt to sway my allies into believing whatever it is that fumbles out of your fingertips about me.
As long as you play the right way and earn your keep, I don’t care what you say or do.
You could take a lesson from Xenos Prime in that manner. He and I clashed for months in missions until his team became one of the most feared groups of beasts to assault the ground missions.
If there is any Con who deserves to have something handed to them for nothing, it’s him.
The loyalists know exactly what I’m talking about.
In my loyal 10+ years here, I have fought
every active Decepticon the Heavy Metal War has produced. And
every single one of them, along with myself and fellow Autobots, have
earned every exotic weapon we equip. Every exclusive alt mode we hunted for. Every inch of territory gained and lost.
WE have FOUGHT FOR ALL OF IT.
Not with cheap words. With heavy action.
So I apologize if individuals take personally my lack of respect for exploiters who abuse game features simply because they have the ability to, and who care so much about this game that they abandoned it for 10+ years while the loyalists kept trudging along through good times and bad.Yes, people may think i have an “entitled” attitude about it, but my position isn’t coming from a place of entitlement, especially since I was never entitled to anything here and earned everything I have. No, where it’s coming from, is a place of
loyalty.
The Heavy Metal War has been there for me through some of the hardest and darkest times of my life. Believe that.
Even right now, while I’m grieving an
old squad mate who just recently lost his life, I’m here, on HMW, coping with that by doing what I love. Except now I have to take time away from regaining lost ground in missions to finally fully address all this boltslag so it can be put to rest indefinitely.
What we have here means more to me than it
ever will to you, so I owe it to HMW to be diligent in noticing players engaging in tampering that other players before them have not engaged in, even if they knew how the exploits worked.
As they say, what one person treats like trash, another person treasures.
You can call me confrontational, rude, an ass, or any other ad hominem you like, but what no one can call me and be correct about it, is
wrong.
I may not have known how the exploit worked, and used words like “hacking, cheating and tampering” to get my point across, but the outcome was all the same: you and yours were noticed for exploiting the game by people who actually care and pay attention.
Very few people have the dedication to this game that I and other loyalists have shown, and I have yet to be proven wrong regarding any in-game/on forum matters I’ve spoken up about. As an Autobot and an HMW loyalist, I revel in that. Decepticons can’t have
all the jerks.
Besides, it’s the Loyalists who have made this game what it is, not a faction nor a tag.
So when the rest of you get bored and go back to your consoles and pc games, the loyalists will still be here.
Therefore, there is not a single thing certain players can do or say that will affect me, unless there is game tampering involved or people being rewarded with things they did not earn through playing the game as we all did.
Regardless of what happened before I rose in the ranks here, Autobots under my time have never asked for handouts other than what we have earned.
We are not wrong for expecting that to be upheld for ALL players, regardless of faction.
People may have grown to not care about this game, but the people that do won’t allow it to rust over and we won’t sit idly by while people treat it like slag.
But alas: we see what happens when a bot takes no scud and refuses to be pushed around after all the hard work they and other loyalists have put into the Heavy Metal War over the many, many, years:
You get one of the most elite weapons in the existence of the Heavy Metal War named after and used against you. (Personally, I take this as the greatest honor.)
Your fan club makes idols out of you for their hero worship fantasies. (Flattered
)
You get people at jumping at every chance to use manipulative wording to make it seem as if you’re not loyal to your allies while trying to do all they can get a rise out of you.
And as we’ve seen, you get posts made on social media that mention your name.(Thankfully not all RDD members are this petty. I already knew that, but someone informing me about the post, because they thought I deserved to know, proves it.)
But the best part? The Great Seibertronimus Prime himself appears in all gloriousness, shuts down the dark science experimentation of certain RDDer’s, and promises great things to come!
Contrary to what some people have said, this couldn’t have gone
any better.
And it all started because a loyalist refused to be pushed around for what they knew was right, and who protected what they held dear, regardless of what was said to or about them.
I would say you’re all welcome, but this is a duty that requires no thanks.
What I will say though, is that I’d do it all over again if it enacts the type of change we’re going to start seeing around here.
With all that out of the way,
AUTOBOTS: This here is addressed to you:
It’s been a while since my last transmission. Heavy fighting in the trenches has kept me out of comms; but trust and believe, the Howlers, the Wreckers and our compatriots have been hard at work bringing the Decepticons to justice during Operation Howling Wreckage.
As you see, Autobots, we’ve had some good days:
And some bad days:
Make no mistake, Autobots: the Decepticons may have the numerical advantage, but the moral advantage belongs to the Autobots and the Loyalist faction.
Regardless of all that has transpired on these board, Autobots, there is still a war to fight and new commanders are needed to champion our cause of bringing the Heavy Metal War back into the forefront of Seibertron Dot Com.
To address an issue brought to light recently, Autobots: I understand there is a discrepancy about what is considered to be “bullying.”
New Autobot players have expressed the displeasure of being outnumbered at lower levels by a specific faction of Decepticons and receiving no experience payouts for almost entire days, thus discouraging them into giving up completely. They have described this as “bullying” or “harassment”.
To those Autobots, if you are still around, I say: STAND FIRM.
I wasn’t being facetious when I stated that this will be the fight of our lives. But if we persevere and stand our ground, ignore the lies and propaganda levied against us by our enemies, and work together, we
can and
will turn the tide of this conflict. Guaranteed.
To the young Autobot Commanders reading this: Don’t let the overwhelming presence of Decepticons in the training missions (0-2) dissuade you from playing. The same thing happened to me. A few years back, I had a 59% win percentage due to experiencing the same type of opposition you Autobots have been reporting to me about. When that happened, I rallied the Autobots, much like I am doing now, and we were able to push back and eventually defeat the Decepticons in a hard fought, all out, fully sanctioned conflict.
You see, as Autobots, we ALL are being overwhelmed... but we are also ALL in this TOGETHER.
Prevailing in the face of overwhelming odds is what makes us strong.
It’s what makes us AUTOBOTS. It is why we wear the AUTOBRAND.
We PROVE that we are worthy of donning it every time we win against these odds.
I said this would not be easy, and my Wreckers are there to assist you once your troops reach the ground missions (lvl 1-3). But you need to get there first, and there always needs to be an Autobot presence around the ground missions to protect new commanders from players who gang up on already outnumbered Autobot recruits.
Along the same lines, some players have expressed displeasure at Autobots who have level 3 builds with more unspent experience points than what was put into their build. They call this “level bullying” because the experience isn’t being spent when it is available.
What they fail to acknowledge though, is that any extra experience a bot has, has no bearing on the way a bot performs in missions, much like their argument that an alt mode awards no tactical advantage.
My bots were built by the book, using the same parameters afforded to me and every single commander in the Heavy Metal War. No shortcuts. Only perseverance.
Is this wrong? Some Decepticons seem to think so, but the Decepticons also have the advantage of outnumbering Autobots 3 to 1 on most days, especially in the ground missions, so these concerns hardly warrant their merit.
As you can clearly see, Autobots, for allll the extra experience my Wreckers have, they still lose spectacularly along side of YOU. Fighting in the trenches like it was 2010 all over again.
On a side note, one can also see why the Wreckers are needed at that level, because the Con presence is merciless and will give no quarter, therefore, the quarter must be taken by force.
That said, this is also the reason why I made the call for Autobots to stand firm. I
want my Wreckers to level up. And when there is a significant Autobot presence in ground level missions and an Autobot commander steps into the role of protector of ground troops, only then will it happen. Only then.
If there is an Autobot out there who is willing to fulfill that role: Step up. I’m anxious to see what you’ve got and if need be, further train you for this difficult task. But you must be dedicated to the Heavy Metal War, to the Autobot cause, and to helping young Seibertronians be the best bots they can be.
Here’s the truth Autobots: the power we wield when we are united is stronger than anything our enemies can throw at us. Some of them will aim to DIVIDE and CONQUER us. Some will attempt to spew propaganda aimed at manipulating the thoughts of the newer commanders, others will coordinate forces to ensure Autobots receive no experience payouts from missions.
DO NOT fall for these tricks, Autobots. Trust your Spark, recognize what is genuine, do what you feel is right, and always stand tall and true.
Also, always step in for an Autobot in need:
Since Megatron’s days, some Decepticons have believed in the “peace through tyranny” mantra, but we Autobots, and even many Decepticons, believe in peace through transparency, charity and fair play. Which is, from what I hear, what’s been happening since the certain exploits were exposed.
Chalk that up as a victory, however small it may be.
But with this, Autobots, we can can only continue to move forward if we have new commanders to fill our ranks.
With the majority of the old breed gone after defeating the Decepticons in the last fully sanctioned war, we need
new Autobot commanders who will uphold the ethics and standards of the Autobot army, which include fair play and
working hard for everything we gain in this game. No exploits. No cheating. No excuses, sugar plating or boltslag.
But make no mistake: just because we are Autobots, does not mean that we can not work cooperatively with our Decepticon counterparts. We may have fundamentally different ideologies than most Decepticons, but right now we must work together to make the Heavy Metal War on Seibertron something to behold once again.
But we also must take heed Autobots, to not fall into the belief that we must view this war from the perspective of some amongst the Decepticon hegemony.
We do not, Autobots.
What we have to do, is play the game and
abide by the set rules. And simply because there is a Con majority, does not mean we, Autobots, must conduct ourselves in the manner that some of the more vocal among them do: meaning ganging up on new warriors and having the audacity to call an old warrior who will not be pushed around a bully.
No, Autobots, we do not have to play by their personal rules or be pushed around by them.
Despite all their attempts to shout us down, they do not control us.
We govern ourselves.
We are
AUTOBOTS.
It is imperative that you heed my words, Autobots, especially the younger commanders. I have been fighting in the trenches alongside you forever. Fighting with you, winning with you. Losing with you. If you don’t know it, or need a reminder; I am here for you. I will stand up for you. I will take all the flack for you, so you don’t have to bear it and become demoralized or disillusioned with the Autobot cause.
I am an
AUTOBOT; but first and foremost, I am a
WRECKER.
I will be as vocal and forthcoming as I need to be in order to ensure you will not be taken advantage of; especially when there is already a negative stigma associated with Autobots due to war crimes committed by our forebearers.
This is NOT that Autobot army.
As I said, Autobots, I could care less what some people think about me personally. This isn’t about me: it’s about the Heavy Metal War that we hold dear and protect; and the place of the Autobots, Decepticons and all around Loyalists within it.
There is only one thing outside of game tampering by non-moderator players that would affect me, and that is if the thoughts of my fellow Autobots were actually swayed by the manipulative words of our enemy, and came to view me as not supportive of the Autobot cause or the Heavy Metal War in general.
I quite obviously am, which is why some among them view my words as “digging my own grave”.
But guess what, Autobots? I am not one who preaches without practice, so you will continue to see me in missions. You will see the HMW Loyalists persevere. You will see those who never cared about the game to begin with disappear when they get bored again. But you know what you won’t see? The Autobots fold under pressure. Especially not with myself as the Autobot Ground War Commander and the newly appointed Chief Justice of the Tyrest Accord.
All we need now, Autobots, is a SUPREME LEADER. I look longingly to the day when one will emerge from the mists to take up the Matrix of Leadership.
So, to the Bots and Cons who are actually loyal to HMW, I will see you in the trenches. To the rest of you pups who are only here because PSN is down: earn your keep or keep it moving.
I will NOT be speaking on this anymore. AT ALL. Any attempts to engage me with sarcasm or ad hominems will be
ignored unless there is a
valid point brought fourth that requires intellectual conversation to resolve.
If any detractors wanna spit shine each others hubcaps to look cute for their friends, save it.
Other than that, cheers to the players on both sides who have played the game
fairly and squarely for years and years without incident. Y’all know me. Y’all know I only cause ruckus [out of in-game character] when the need arises. I have said enough and I don’t need to say anything else about it.
Now I go back to doing what it is that i actually log on to this website everyday to do: FIGHT THE WAR.
Time for
Operation Howling Wreckage to resume the offensive against the Heavy Metal War version of The Empire Strikes Back.
If you’re with me, I’ll be waiting for you.
AUTOBOTS: STAND FIRM.
