Nice, I've got a soft spot for the really unusual looking Predacons. They could have messed up Manterror so many different ways, but they really came up with a fun figure in him. He was one of the first BW figures I bought back then when I was 16 and earning a paycheck, pretty sure I had gotten Grimlock, Cheetor, and Jetstorm (and either Rhinox or Retrax, I remember buying five) at the same time. It was a great time when the figures were cheap, plentiful, and awesome!

Just some Manterror love, since he's legally old enough to drink in the US now. I have to remember that 1997 was over 20 years ago and not "over 10 years ago". STOP GETTING OLD, ME!

Doing a bit of rearranging in our house. In the process, the rack of shelves that holds my Optimus Primes, and on the top shelve has Metroplex and friends, got moved from the craft room / office into the dining room. (The missus wanted to use the craft room more, and was worried about bumping into it and knocking guys over. She deserves her space, so I made it happen!)

Anyway, I still need to reload the Prime shelves, but I like how Metroplex and friends turned out in their new home.

It made sense having Metroplex off to the right, where he then butted up against the desk next to the rack. Then the larger bots (combiners and Six-Gun) kind of just stood wherever they fit in the space in front of him, and then the smaller bots in front of that. There was a bit of an attempt with at least the smaller bots in front in giving them a balanced arrangement, but it was a token effort at best.

Without being directly next to a larger piece of furniture, I placed Metroplex in a more centered position on the shelf. Then I arranged everyone around him with a bit more thought to the process.

Directly in front of Metroplex stands Six-Gun, and to either side of him is one of the newly-introduced-in-Combiner Wars gestalts. In front of them, on the outer edges, the classic Combiner teams. Then on either side you have a mirrored grouping of a Jumpstarter, a Legends class figure, an exo-suited human, a micromaster Target Master robot, and a Fansproject Target Master. Then, in the center, Windblade and Slammer.

I'm digging the symmetricality of the new layout!

I dunno why people were complaining. PoTP Grimlock is awesome! The Prime armor from the other Dinobots can combine with his Prime armor to make the biggest Hulk Hands ever! What's not to love here?










Also he's gotta be a Biker Mice From Mars fan, because he's wearing their logo on his underwear!

I imagine that the Protectobots often feel haunted by the memories of those who they couldn't save. Or I could be humanizing cartoon characters who were created with the sole purpose of selling toys. Either way, I was inspired to take this after hearing the Bad Wolves cover of Zombie, originally done by The Cranberries. I miss Dolores.
