ouch! that's 40 dollars down the drain. not to mention having to relocate to another address if the said user wants to sign up at TFC again.

gotta give it to him though, he got guts...that he did. stuck it to the man.

I quite like it, even the big ears and the skinny arms, though all that knee kibble is a bit distracting.

Car mode looks great, but I hope it all fits together a bit better than in that pic.

I'll reserve judgement on his bot mode for now, although like others said, for now its a little underwhelming. However, the alt mode looks pretty good. If they could take the ridges off of the hood, it would look so much nicer..it kinda detracts from the smooth look of the rest of it

I must say, I'm really happy that Hasbro managed to design a mold that gives us two different looking bots from the same alt mode.

It would have been easy for them to be lazy and just make Sideswipe a repaint of Sunstreaker (with a new head). But I'm glad they went the extra mile and gave them different transformations, which is a good homage to the original G1 toys.

For people complaining that his chest is too big, look at the original G1 toy first, his proportions suck! I think they've made a great effort of keeping him looking like Sunstreaker (car roof = body) and have definitely improved the proportions. In my humble opinion, of course.

This year is going to be great for transformers (for me at least). Classics, Animated and MP Grimmy! :grin:

Not Torso, just head.

Imagine turning the figure backwards. Now turn his legs so the wheels are not the knees, but the outside leg.

It now looks almost identical to the sketch, which was a yellow Sideswipe.

The problem with calling it "just head" ... is that it will leave the coloring/detail/articulation on the legs to where it is not desired. Also, screw holes can make an unsightly appearance. Nobody wrong here, just another way of looking at it. I'm sure they will set the molds up to look great both ways. 360 degree waist rotation is a MUST, though. It's much cheaper/easier than doing something like they did on the Alternators RX-8 mold for the hip joints, as well as painting both sides of the pelvis.

Oh yeah, I'm stoked too. Not only is this a Sideswipe, but a Red Alert as well! Not too mention Prowl means a Silverstreak AND a Smokescreen. :grin:

Ofcourse, like others, I will be kitbaching Sunstreaker in Punch/Counterpunch as well. Great bang for the buck per mold for Hasbro and for us.

Also, I am stocked becuase I now know that if Hasbro drops the ball on any repaints into characters I want to see, that FunPub will take up the causde and make it so. In fact I wouldn't be shocked if next year's Botcon exclusive was infact, Punch/Counterpunch, which would make it a must attend for me.

Not to endorse paying a huge premium for repaints ofcourse. Just that atleast there is a backup plan just in case Hasbro pulls the plug before then get to the repaints.

Not quite true imo.

This represents Sunstreaker.

His back would be Sideswipe's chest and the outside of his legs would be the Sideswipe legs we see in the sketch.

Not working.

However, ignore the tosro twist, stand the whole thing backwards, then twist the legs:

That'd be Sideswipe.

I love the alt mode but the robot mode reminds me of a cheeper version of the alternator version. Still im happy to see the line alive and of course will pick em all up

That's not hollow legs I see there is it? That's pretty annoying considering how far we've come. At least put a panel on to cover it up, ala Alt Mirage.

Otherwise, very nice. Head seems a little off, just can't figure out why. Oh, And I say more arm beef! Rotate those panels so that they're on the side of the arms!

Okay, I get what you're saying now ... hopefully there will be enough coloring and details to where that would work without having all of the details somewhere else. If they thought this through, you're golden!

Powerglide, huh? I certainly hope they take the time to hide his face in his alt mode. That was the primary reason I passed on getting Classics Ramjet.

Meh, I already have Skywarp and have my eye set on Rodimus next. I might get Rammy at some point, but I'd like to get a few of the other Classics that look really nice first. Namely, Rodimus, Astrotrain and Mirage. I did like his 'bot mode, so I'll probably end up picking him up sometime. I just want to finish getting new molds before I start getting retools/repaints.

Anywho, Octane is a must buy for me. He was my favorite character from G1 despite only getting one or two full episodes of air time. He was just such a cool, collected person. Shame he got so little spotlight.
