carytheone wrote:That's where I started with 3p add-ons then KOs of those add-ons, then a few clearance 3p figures, then a few KOs of 3p figures. At some point you get a little numb and money talks. I see no harm in picking up figires/accessories that would never be made or even figures you wouldn't have bought in the first olacw. Anyway do what feels right.Kurona wrote:My little morality check comes into play with the rather vague little guideline of "add-ons or things HasTak probably will not do". I don't exactly expect Hasbro to release better hands and feets for Combiner Wars, nor do I expect to see an IDW Cosmos, Tarn or even Rodimus in my lifetime. That's where it's easier for me - it's not taking money away from HasTak because HasTak weren't making a similar product to get money from me! Win-Win! Same goes for 'Ultrl Magenus' here. Is Generations truly going to come out with a specifically Legends-scaled Ultra Magnus, especially when the focus has shifted from smaller versions of big dudes like Optimus and Starscream to just making figures of small guys like Rewind and Brawn? Is a Legends-Scale Magnus really going to happen from HasTak? Is it really? So yeah, no remorse here~
... of course, then I find a 3P Legends Soundwave with Ratbat and Buzzsaw for £15 - and a Legends Soundwave doesn't seem too unlikely from official channels sometime in the future - and I start to waver. Especially when an official one is not likely to be of the quality shown nor is it likely to have two tiny Cassetticons...![]()
So what 3p Soundwave are you talking about? Iron Factory? Doesn't that one come with Laserbeak and Buzzsaw? I'm real close to. Pulling the trigger on Mech Planet's Sound Track.

Looks like I may have answered my own question, but I still didn't see Buzzsaw.
I think you called it right with Sound Board. After I did a little digging and rabbit hole following with my usual dealer, aliexpress, I saw the same thing. Odd that SB comes with two minions and SW only comes with one. I'd like a tiny Ravage too! Wouldn't mind the twins eitherKurona wrote:It's Mech Planet, yup. I was remembering incorrectly; it's the Soundblaster version that comes with Buzzsaw and Ratbat. I'm pretty sure Soundwave just comes with Laserbeak - could be wrong, hope I'm wrong; really want a Ravage.

The Soundwave version on Kapow is still on pre-order. Don't ask me why. Soon as he's available though, easiest purchase of my life.

I must say I do kind of like the scale with Prime on KOatron. Reminds me of Animated.
Gaaaah, that price... there any KOs out there?

Sweeet. I thought I'd have to settle for the Action Master

Super fun build! Very gratifying when all said and done. Couple of questions. Are you able to tighten the screw in his head tight enough? Mine kinda has a bobble head ATM.carytheone wrote:Fun build and toy eh? He's a nice large cyberverse legends class huh? Good stuff![]()

Obviously you guys covered the options by now, but that old T30 Megs is awesome. Even without Walthertron, I was perfectly happy with him as my Legends Megs. And you know, the Takara version has that great silver paint job just like that OSed KO Cary showed.Kurona wrote:Unfortunately turned off that Megs now. I don't follow, but I'm not as into the fiction as you are. For me a toy that represents a character can do just that. Not a criticism, just a way of thought.Kurona wrote:But the only problem is that the Hasbro version doesn't really fit outside of his tearjerking backstory
Oh, the scale game gets real fun when you can mix all the Class sizes. I actually really like FOC Deluxe Magnus as the Magnus to Legends Prime and Legions carbots. Good call on Voyager Sky Lynx being to scale in a LL world!Kurona wrote:Yeah options are always totally hard in this game. Thankfully though my little Legends resurgence is more of a casual thing; I'll gather up what I can get right now and won't be sad with what I can get - especially when most of the main players have SOMETHING I can get my mitts on and I already have a nice little handful. Heck, CW Sky Lynx is probably perfectly sized for the display; and I'm betting Generations Deluxe Thunderwing will find his calling here too...

Probably not, I had quite a few left over as well including one of the bigger ones. I tightened the head screw as tight as I felt comfortable and its a little wobbly at certain angles. I guess it's time to bust out that floor polish.Cobotron wrote:Super fun build! Very gratifying when all said and done. Couple of questions. Also, did you have left over screws? If so, how many? I had 1 of the 4 larger ones, and 3 of the smaller ones. Did I miss something?![]()
From what I understand he is the same size as Rook, but all plastic. I've seen a review-ish somewhere (maybe ben's collectibles) and he seemed to think it was great, but a little light. It's only a matter of time before Repaint Wars gets fired up all over again only this time it will be bigger and illegitimate.Cobotron wrote:OH SNAP! There was an itch in the back of my noodle that I knew I had seen this. I think the only difference between him and the Patron Saints is he doesn't have die cast parts, but I'm not sure on that. I wonder if he is the same OSed size as as Rook?carytheone wrote:Ah, but they do!Sigma Magnus wrote:The KO doesn't have a matching Offroad.![]()

I would love an oversized combiner made up of all the "new guys" with either Sky Lynx or Cyclonus as the torso. Preferably with wonky wrong paint jobs.
That guy looks awesome. I'm eyeballing a 3p KO Grimmy at Ali for about $30 shipped. Reximus is a good cherry popperitscramtastic wrote:And back to the KO 3rd Party..
I want all of the OS KOs. Forever. The one that sent me down the enabler path on these was Reximus Prime. That. Figure. Is. AMAZING. And if others are close to that level? I'm in.
You know my name is literally in my UNwilliam-james88 wrote:@Carry, I felt like shaving that piece that connects the chest to the pelvis but I realized that it is mean to be that tight. If you apply some pressure, it will click in. If not for that part, there is nothing else keeping the torso attached to the pelvis so shaving it might make it become too loose later.
The barrel not fitting too well in the back is a shame though. There is a ridge stopping it from being flush and making it connect at an odd angle. I just remove the barrel and leave it somewhere, looks better that way to me.
Yes, yes it is. I was super impressed with the transformation for such a little guy. I agree with all them statements, but I wouldn't call it the best KO/3P I have. That OS KO Shinebug is very nice for all the same reasons.william-james88 wrote:Anyways, back to Walthertron. I love the plastic, its a great colour, a nice gloss, feels good. I love the transformation. I own other 3p toys and I hate transforming them. They are usually overly complex and you can tell stuff was added once the design process was finished. But this little dude feels well thought out. He actually feels like a Takara transformation. I remember Scotty hoping that MP Megatron wouldnt take a ton of time to transform, but that wasnt the case. And someone else said that is was kind of insane how all these companies had a tough time making a streamlines transformation for a character that has a ton of alt mode kibble showing. This little dude makes it all work out. He shows that you can indeed have a fun gun megatron that doesnt take forever to transform but that can give a nice gun mode and a great bot mode with good articulation. So yeah, easily the best 3p toy I have.
carytheone wrote:Do you have the same kit as we do or the pre-assembled voyager sized one? I tried pushing that tab in, but it wasn't budging. I used a small "nail file" to slowly work it down until it went in with a little force. I have no worries about the longevity of the connection. It's nice and tight![]()
Same thing I found out with the barrel, it's the other stuff in the way preventing it from tabbing in well. I like the look, so I pull off the silver bit and it tabs like a boss

Negative Cap'n. You can have a giant OS KO Throttlebot combiner. I wan't to say they dupe up one or two of them and change the colors, but they do make enough bots to combine. The combiner bits are sold separately thoughwilliam-james88 wrote:And my issue with Shinebug is that I would like to have all of them to use the combining gimmick, but they only released Shinebug so far so we cant make use of that extra gimick.
Very unlikely. Shinebug was a random whim. I may get a few more as I like the look of the Jeep guy and SUV guy, but who knows. The quality is outstanding BTW. He is basically voyager sized, which works for me. I just pretend he is a big badass version of Goldbugwilliam-james88 wrote:Wll you be getting th others to combine him? And were the combiner bits seperate in the original too? Personally, I wish there were less OS KOs and just straight up 3P KOs like Walthertron. I dont have the space for OS.
