"Consider the knowledge dropped."
From ToplessRobot.com:• "Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is marginally better than sh***ing your pants, but it takes a lot longer." Very well put.

Thank you, I was a little apprehensive about posting that.
No problem. I wish you could at least make people re-read their posts before they hit the submit button, and I didn't think you were aiming that comment in my direction anyway.
...or were you? (Vader's Imperial March music plays)
Not aimed at you at all. And I just changed my ring tone to the Imperial March the other day.

I was watching FIght CLub the other day when I relized that the main character was right, he was talking about how he is anti-consumerist because he is afraid that everyone becomes self relyant on the product and they take over, he had atheroy that the deep space programs would be named after major corperations like "Planet Starbucks" for example, and that we should try to accept that we are not perfect and that we are all eventually going to die one day, once you get over that fear, you relize that you dont own yourself anymore, and that your possesions own you.
the point i'm trying to make is that, I may be one of the biggest Transformers fans out there, but I will know when to stop and say, "Hey, its just a toy or cartoon", your life dosent depend on it. so in the end i have to say is,
STOP WRITING DEATH THREATS!!!!

and
b) There are a lot of people who hate his work with a passion and blame him for everthing they consider wrong with Hollywood films
While sending death threats to anyone is ridiculous, I find it really hard to believe that this is something new for him. I mean, he's responsible for the 'Got Milk?' campaign. Did that not anger the militant vegans?

They didn't make Transtech because Beast Machines was a retail failure that was cancelled early and they wanted to reconsider their market approach.

But then I started looking at the designs more and more, and started realizing how practical they were. The blocky G1 designs, yeah they will always be awesome since that is what we grew up with, but from a animation standpoint, they just don't work.
So yeah, I was pissed at Bay, talked about how in his movies, like Armageddon, the only reason the movie was good, is because it had a damn good assortment of actors behind it.
So like most people I've warmed up to the designs. However, if the story sucks(I haven't read the script), well the story as it's told in the movie, if they do a bad job at that, I'll be pissed.
Not pissed to the point of issuing death-threats, as that is just damned retarded.
However, if Bay got death-threats from people, do what anyone would do, slap their e-mails or whatever online, and let the fans dispense their justice in the form of spam and what not.

Not sure about Jar Jar, but R.A Salvatore received a number of them when he wrote the death of Chewbacca in the Vector Prime novel. It wasn't even his decision to do it, he just had to write it in to the book.
As for threats against Bay (I have not read all the posts in this thread, so this may have been mentioned already) in this thread on DM.net Iceforest (aka Nelson from shootfortheedit.com) states:
The freaky thing is I would be the first one to get these emails and some of the were so descriptive that I though these guys wrote the Saw or Hostel movies.
This is just absolutely disgusting to hear. I find it deplorable that people have to take this hobby this seriously.

I side with Bay on this one. Even if he had decided to use paper cut outs pasted to popsicle sticks and use little girls to voice the characters, that would still be no reason to send death threats. C'mon morons. There's more to life than movies.

Actually, I'm surprised Bay hadn't gotten threats about Armageddon. That movie sucked worse than Battlefield Earth.
Ok bud, them be fighting words...
I, for one, really like the designs of the characters (I'm still wishy-washy on Megatron, but I will easily get over myself) and I am glad Michael Bay is/was the director. My 2 cents.
My 3rd cent is that some people need to find themselves a new hobby. Death threats? Very lame.

I am sure Lucas did, especially for those abominations called Episodes I, II, and III.
But back to Bay: It wasn't me!
Death threats are just stupid, IMHO.

I'm talking falling-down laugh-out-loud funny.
But maybe that's just me.
Also, if you view the current quality of Hollywood cinema as an average of both the best and the worst films (and everything in between), then his death would immediately raise that quality average just a little bit.
I'm just saying, there'd be a bright side, is all.
Plus, all future TF movie directors would really, really, really listen to the longtime fans. Maybe even buy them all ice cream.
Yours in comedy,
Botch

Maybe Bay could issue death threats back at them - like "See my Movie or die!"
Or better yet; if I was Bay, I'd respond like "Hah! Yes I DID kill your childhood! And just wait until you see what I have planned for the sequal!! Your life is OOOVER!!"
Then again - it's always hard to know how to react to stuff like this... outrage....distance...humor... nothing seems adequate...
The fanbase should apologize to Bay for some of its' members...
Of course no one will hold us ALL accountable for the comments of a few dumbies... but it would just make the rest of us ever so much more serious, mature and cool looking to apologize anyways
