Creature SH wrote:This is pretty damn silly.
So Michael Bay says that he received death threats.
I say: So what ?
Tom_Servo wrote:I have two friends who got into a world of sh*t for making the wrong kind of joke to the wrong person. The lucky one only ended up in a "program" for a few months.
The legal term is "making terroristic threats" and it's a felony.

These two statements contradict each other.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I even enjoyed Pearl Harbor. For all its historical inaccuracies and silly subplots, it did have an exciting "imagine if you were there" feel to it.

Its alright mate, i like Pearl Harbor too. I havnt seen a Bay flick that i didnt immensely enjoy either so you arent the only one.

yikes, preal harbor is only 1 of 2 movies i have ever walked out of. the later was alone in the dark, but nonetheless!!
Tom_Servo wrote:Funny that Peal Harbor should come up. I was just watching Team America: World Police.
Creature SH wrote:In Team America, a far more intelligent spoof of Hollywood bigscale action movies than one would think, there is a lovesong in which the singer claims that he misses his beloved almost as much as "Pearl Harbour" sucked. The whole song goes back and forth between 80s love ballad and tangents about how bad that movie was.
Sunstar wrote:Death threats.. ruined childhoods... That's silly. That is totally silly. I don't think it ruined my childhood because I remember watching transformers and enjoying it.
I am not sure how something now could "ruin" a childhood. Maybe a second childhood...maybe.
Some folk are dorks..realyl dorks.
moonwalker wrote:When Courtney Love recieved her death threat she dismissed it as bullshit and continue touring. I would say to Michael Bay don't be a girl about it but then i think of her and realise not even girls act as scared. Its sad but true that noone will REALLY kill Michael Bay, and he's not the first guy in the movie business that recieved such mail, he would be the first one killed however and that way he could become a legend cause this way hes just gonna remain another asshole. I would never send anything of such content to him and not cause im scared of the legal consequences but because i don't think this man can be influenced or changed in any way or that my effort would be worthwile. I will simply not watch the movie where giant bugs are posed as realistic or good looking and then associated with the transformers. But im just glad he felt unease cause that seems like the least bit of justice that can be inflicted upon this stupid, arrogant prick. Transformers aside i have never seen a director with less acomplishment and a bigger ego. He has absolute no respect towards the fandom or the original series which to much of my amazement has found so much backing in many people online. Ok so its dated, he hats the designs and the characters he doesnt even know the names of. Thats all legit, hey i understand its not everyones cup of tea. But then why call it transformers? Why not make a film called mighty morfin giant insects from outer space. Cause he wants to profit from the very fans that he puts down in his every statement. So their money is good but their opinions lack judgement and they dont know whats modern? Whats modern a **** metal tarantula, jesus christ. I just cant believe that you cant honestly feel sorry for this guy.
But thats fine. Now just image something else you like , say lord of the rings. And instead of the faithful p jackson comes a director who thinks its a good idea to cast justin timberlake as aragorn cause well hes popular and that aragorn character was lame anyway.
Imagine this director expressed his disgust with the LOTR but agreed to do a movie cause he gets a huge budget and an opertunity to do some of his own ideas. Whats this swords? **** that lets make lasor guns man thats whats cool , swords was a million years ago.
And lose the hobbits they are ridiculous lets cast the Ousbornes i mean they are way cool.
And now imagine you said damn i aint gonna watch this LOTR travesty idiotic flick to witch some 9 year old kid was like: you old lotr fanboy , you idiot you dont understand whats vision , give it a try justin is great as aragorn i mean he has dance nubers and all(just cant believe some peopley and how worked up they are) .
Well if you imagine that , thats how people who actually know what the transformers are feel like. I dont mind people hating what i like. I dont mind them talking about it , hell i even liked Kevin Smiths Clerks 2 although it parodies the Tf . I dont even mind someone making a parody of transformers.
BUT FOR FU(K SAKES DONT MAKE GIANT INSECTS AND CALL IT TRANSFORMERS, and then make a press conference and say i dont know their names but they are made to look cool by cool me so relax none of that geek crap you'd expect.

I love that TF isn't my Star Wars... ...I feel for alot of you though, I guess if they ever made a Star Wars TV show and Jabba was blue, thin, and had legs, I'd be pretty pissed too.
Burn wrote:The enter key is your friend.
Not that your post was worth reading after your first line where you declared you'd laugh if Michael Bay was murdered.
Decepticlone Soundwave wrote:This is just stupid. Death threats won't get the man to change anything. I mean really, this is what will give TF's a bad reputation, if the fans are threatening his life. Really, it is stupid. This makes no sense at all & is quite embarassing for us. Whatever.
