The Hasbro version in 2014 will be the better product.

Some might argue that Roadbuster shouldn't be beautiful. ;) But this is definitely going to be in the eye of the beholder.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Fanprojects has a more miss than hit record. Out of all the stuff they made. I only think the City commander,Protector, crossfire combaticons & stunticons are decent.

That is most definitely a valid opinion, but I would disagree with you in almost every respect. More below.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Putting Protector on the decent list is kinda pushing the envelope. as it not as high end quality in plastic or design as the other on that above list. It barely makes the decent list.

I couldn't disagree with you more! I have never had any issues with the Protector armor. The only real issue is the complexity, and that was necessary to get a decent looking bot and alt mode. I think Protector is awesome! And it looks really cool in all modes, in my opinion. (Looks are important to me.)

Tsutsukakushi wrote:It sure seems like FP has different teams creating different products. I just think the WB001-WB004 stuff & the Headmasters are inferior products.

Yes, it has been confirmed elsewhere that there are multiple teams. I'm not sure I can agree with the term, "inferior products." Aside from Defender's weak knees and small feet, I've heard very positive reviews about them. I find Defender's transformation complex, but otherwise love the figure. I'm a Macross fan, so Assaulter appeals to me on many levels. Its construction and plastic quality is very good, as far as I have seen.

As far as the headmasters, while we have only seen two, I have no idea what you are talking about. Code is one of the best third party toys I have, and I love playing with him. There is a slight issue with the cockpit corners, but I fixed that almost right away, and really that was for my own satisfaction, not because I thought it was really that necessary. Quad U, while having a long snout, looks decent and is fun to play with. How do you find these inferior?

Tsutsukakushi wrote:In the case of WB001-WB004 toys,The toys are too overly boxy in all modes. The sculpts are just weird & don't look that great.

Again, that's a valid opinion, but is based on one's own preferences. I personally like the take on the aesthetics, but I can see that they are not for everybody. (But, again, inferior? What are you comparing these to that makes them inferior?)

Tsutsukakushi wrote:The FP Headmasters are not bad sculpts. These toys needed to be voyager scale not deluxes. The small scale ruined the toys due to FP using thin fragile plastic. Had the toys been Voyager scale,FP would of had been forced to used thicker more durable plastic by default.

Again, have you heard/read about problems with the plastic? I haven't seen anything here. Personally, I love the scale as it keeps the cost down.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:The Crossfire Insecticons are nice toys. sadly the toys are vastly over priced. Paying $75 for a scout sized toy is way over priced.

I think I got them for much cheaper than that, so cost is definitely not an issue for me. Still, seems kinda picky to call this a miss. These are fun both to pose and to transform. And FP even provided a fix to the previous figure's plastic issue (the blade weapon thingy.)

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Like others have stated in other threads here. The FP toys are not meant to be played with. the toys are simply to fragile to handle the stress of being played with or getting transformed.

I couldn't disagree with this more. Aside from Defender's weak knees and fiddly transformation, I enjoy handling and playing with these toys. The headmasters in particular are so much fun to play with that I hardly put them down.

It seems really, really picky to state that FP has had more misses than hits. From reading this board, I do not find that to be the case at all. FP consistently has been in the conversation as one of the best 3rd Party companies out there. Sure, they competition has caught them (and maybe even surpassed them in a situation or two) but they still put out great products that are fun to play with. I cannot wait for more Headmasters.

Were you the one in another thread (or maybe even this one) that was complaining that FP was taking too long to put out products and that you'd want to see faster releases at lower qualities? Maybe I have you confused with another user. At any rate, maybe I should ask this. If you think FP is a substandard company with more misses than hits, what would you consider a company that is top notch?

(No, I don't work for FP, but I do have a lot of respect for what they do and the stuff they make for fans. Part of it was the add-ons they started with vastly improving Energon Superion and Bruticus. Part of it was what they did to get donations for the tsunami victims in Japan. I don't mind criticisms of their projects as it can lead to better products. But I will defend very picky statements used as broad generalizations. I don't think FP is perfect. But they are damn good.)

[Edit] One more thought....maybe what bugs me about these comments is that it appears that just because something is not liked, it is considered a "miss." I don't like that. I personally don't like the TFC Superion set or their Predaking, but I would never call them "misses" just because they are not my preference. Does that make sense?

That makes me sad (not annoyed or frustrated, just sad). I don't to join Core, but I really like this Roadbuster. But that's how they get you, I guess.

Mooncake, are you a Core member? If so, what's been your experience?

As much as I like this, I also would like to see what Hasbro's got cooking. Maybe we'll get another official voyager Wrecker soon :P

Definitely a must buy for me. Love the fact they added that Yellow Core minibot.

Also, is that Rack'n'Ruin I see? I'm not a Wreckers purist so I like the thought of those twins getting the FP treatment, but I hope it isn't going to be a repaint. That would be disappointing.

Yep I'm a member. I've got nothing bad to say shipping is a flat rate and a little expensive but that's all. The last thing I ordered from them was assaulter when they had pre-orders up before everyone else and I ordered on the spot thinking it was another exclusive. But everyone else had it on pre-order a few days later, this could be the case again this time. I would've save some shipping money if I had it on BBTS but yea.

Ok, I REALLY like it. I'll still wait and see how the Hasbro one turns out though. If it's like Springer (well designed, solid, etc) I won't be paying 3rd party prices, that's for sure. If it's more like Blitzwing (more hollow, more kibble, not so well designed), then I'll get FP's version.

I don't recall seeing it mentioned here so thought I'd better say something... Revolver's instructions reveal the next two WB figures, which are based on characters from the WB comics, come with components for Revolver.

Now because I consider this thing to be a complete piece of crap I haven't paid that much attention, but the next two figures might be remolds of Revolver and them having the components needed to "flesh him out" might just be speculation, but I thought it better to say something so that people don't get a nasty shock later.

I like the powermaster & all the weapons this toy comes with. The strong thick joints remind me of the AEC toys. I just don't like the vehicle mode. The robot modes looks awkward & weird.

With the HasTak version getting released this year. I'm going to get this. HasTak will probably hit it out of the park. due to them doing a great job on 30th Whirl.

I can't wait for this figure. In my opinion, unless Hasbro nails the All Hail Megatron IDW Roadbuster, I don't see how it could be any better. Regardless, I'll buy it too. I'm not at all bitter about the add on pieces coming with the other figures either. I would have gotten them either way so the extra armor is just a bonus.

Hasbro Better? Maybe, maybe not. But definitely cheaper.

Defender is still the "Springer" on my shelf, but it would not be if Hasbro Springer came out first.

The Hasbro one is a very nice representation of the character, and many folks like it better. While I still prefer Defender, I don't like it that much more.

So for Roadbuster, I'm going to hold off till I get more info.

I also happen to have a Mugen Calibur as a stand in, so I'm not too desperate to replace him.

Yep, Hasbro will always be the cheaper option.

I agree with your sentiments on Defender though. He is my Springer on the Wreckers shelf but I love the HasTak mold. I bought 3 ^_^

I have both Fansproject's and Hasbro's 'Springer' on my Classics shelf. They're both great toys and represent Springer well for me. I think I'm gonna get this, and Hasbro's if it comes out too.

Technically I've already got a Roadbuster from the Combaticons remold/redeco, but I wouldn't mind one or two more. ;)

I also have a theory about why this is so far along. Their Stunticons are all done. The only other projects I know of are their Mindwipe, Quickswitch and... well, off the top of my head that's it.

No clue as of yet. I think there's a Toy Fair sometime in Feb that may answer that question.

Y'know...I was just looking at the good Doctor's signature, which contains a pic of 4 Wreckers from one of the comics, and the IDW rendition of Roadbuster looks a bit like BM Tankor, especially in the face. I wonder if the Hasbro Roadbuster is going to be a repaint of the upcoming Tankor mold. Image

Id rather get this just in case the hasbro version sucks. Im sure I can find 20 bucks somewhere months later to buy it If hasbro doesnt kill roadbuster. Granted they have been on a roll lately. But sometimes they ruin a good character by getting the scale wrong (huge springers and small tankors)
