Hasbro has a better robot mode but FP has a better alt mode. Im not a big fan of the N.E.S.T. dune buggy. So I think Ill buy both versions cause thats how I roll.

Ya know, I kind of hoped I would like Hasbro's version more than FP to save my wallet some grief, but... I guess I'm in the minority here. I don't see what every one else is seeing here with Hasbro's Roadbuster > FP Roadbuster.

The chest and head on Hasbro seems ill-proportioned, the guns (admittedly meant to entice with spring loaded firing) looks goofy, the arms and leg joints throw me off... Possibly the only thing I'm appreciative on the Hasbro version is the alt mode and that's only by a little bit when compared to the unarmored version of FP's.

Maybe once I get a better look at it in a review or something my tune will change, but I'm just not that impressed with the Hasbro version on this one.

Wow. I guess I'm exactly the opposite point of view. I really don't like Hasbro RB's arms and legs, but I like the alt mode better.

I was hoping Hasbro's version would make me forget about FP's but it's not been the case. I still prefer FP's take on the character.

I don't get what you guys think Fansproject has over Hasbro's Alt mode but i will say Now i've calmed down and seen the two robots side by side i can honestly say FP have the better figure when it comes to proportions articulation Transformation , for me Hasbro has the more appealing aesthetic and price point and very much fits my needs .

The real problem i have with hasbro's is how simple this transformation is it's flawed the figure the forearms/no wrist swivel  the legs (maybe that's the crap pose he is in), also i was would have liked more G1 looking eyes .

Hmm, okay. These pics make it a bit more clear now. The glossy look does earn some beauty points over FP. However, I still feel the proportions of FP's version are better than Hasbro's. The head, chest and legs just lack in my opinion where FP's version is just more well-defined. Maybe it's the complexity that's swaying my opinion, but I honestly don't think Hasbro has anything on FP for this one except gloss and price range.

I don't like FP Roadbuster,It looks overly boxy in both modes. It literally looks like a Legos Kreo build it figure.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the glossy look on Hasbro's pics. Don't let Photoshop deceive you! Only the Takara version will actually be glossy.

I kinda wanna see how large this'll be, but the cold, hard fact is that the price factor may edge out FP for me.

Hmmm, is the Hasbro offering better or as good as FansProject? Debatable.
Is it good enough when considering the huge cost saving over FP? Damn right.

I think I'm still with FansProject on this one. Their alt. mode strikes me as being closer to G1 while still being a fairly unique form. I'm also finding Hasbro's robot mode a little gangly. He's got a hulking chest but slim arms and legs. I'd like to have gone for the cheaper option, but my conscience won't allow me to settle.

Yeah, this is probably the most truthful thought related to these figures. And Hasbro's, while not perfect, is:
1) Not a repaint
2) A very good representation of the character
3) not likely to slice open my fingers when I try to transform

Again, I love FP for what they have done. If Hasbro would have never produced this I would have been very happy with Revolver. But I don't want to shell out a bunch of money for two of the same thing when the cheaper one will do nicely.

I wish I had the same confidence in FP enough so to make this statement, as the FP version does look good and appeals to my aesthetic tastes more, but I don't. FP has been one disaster after another for me, so I'm more than happy that Hasbro is putting out their own Roadbuster. This thing can shelfwarm into oblivion for all I care. >:oP

I've never been a big fan of the Wreckers. I don't read the comics, so I have no emotional attachment to them. However, their toys tend to be pretty damn sweet. I will gladly buy their toys, oh yes.

Roadbuster is one of those figures. I don't need him, because I don't care about him, but I do like his toy. I was considering FP's until they pulled that "You need to buy $300.00 worth of figures to complete him" crap, and then Hasbro came along and said "Lookit our's." and it's complete, looks good and it's only $22.99...

No brainer, official won this time. If they keep doing that, I won't have a need for 3rd party.

(HINT HINT HASBRO)

I'm inclined to agree, but I don't think we'll ever see a decent combiner from Hasbro. Or anything that looks like a gun.
Anyway, what the heck am I going to do with my Mugen Calibur now? These will be worth nothing on the secondary market!

Oh absolutely. There will always be a need for 3rd party. Both Galvatron (Maniaking) and Menasor (M3/Intimidator) are proof of that.

I think Hasbro-haters will warm up to their Roadbuster once we see some more in-hand pictures, and some poses that are not as bow-legged as the ones we've seen.

That's the truth. And coming from a staff member too.

By now we know that the Warbot line isn't a line of triple changer homages, it's a line of Wreckers Homages. (except Steelcore) I think if the line continues with this theme, many people will buy them all to have matching aesthetic on their Wreckers shelf.

I never liked the look of Revolver (and have trouble with the overall look of the Warbot line to be honest) so I'm happy the Hasbro one turned out so well. I like the look of it in both modes more than Revolver, the lower price is just a happy bonus. I'm also convinced the quality of Hasbro's will be better.

When it comes to characters I don't have much attachment to, I'll stick with the $30 Voyager instead of the $100+ figure. Especially since the HasTak one is looking pretty decent.

The one ting that this version has over the Hasbro version is his beefier legs. I sure hope the spindly legs of the Hasbro ver is just a bad camera angle.

I'm not in love with either TBH.
Revolver is too blocky and I don't like the alt mode very much. Someone's Logo comment is dead on!
Hasbro's version is pretty spindly and the wheels on the limbs are just lazy, but I do like his alt mode.

Both are OK takes on the character, but neither hits it out of the park for me.

However, the price factor wins this round, hands down.

That was me,I coined the Lego's Kreo nickname.

I also don't like how small the FP RB chest piece is in robot mode.

I don't like my 3rd party TF toys more blocky than the original 1980's HasTak TF toys. Kronos & Revolver look more blocky than the 1985 HasTak toys versions.

The Hasbro effort looks like it is covered in clear stickers like Whirl. I actually got a kick out of stickering Whirl so this is another plus for me over the FP version.
