I have a different opinion.
Knowing that the next phase of the toys is the Pursuit of Cobra, up to the end of 2010, and with the hints of Mecha, that the movie sequel will be set for late 2011 to summer 2012.
2011 will be the mecah side project based on movie side continuity with heavy influx from Resolute and Anime (as seen with the Cycle Armor)that will hopefully keep people interest until the second movie and the lines again focus directly of elements of that film.
The movie may not be the greatest piece of cinema, but it certainly has done enough to keep the line in Hasbro's good graces. Had it failed to the point for line collapse that we were threatened with, I'm sure we would have seen that result at Joecon, and not the vast amount of money magnets we saw. Oh yes Rasta-Viper you will be mine.

Well yesterday I was at toy r us and the big wall they have up front were they put big ticket items has changed again this time it is star wars. So I hope this isn't a sign that g.i.joe is doomed to fail since transformers ran from may till the middle of july and g.i.joe ran from july untill the end of august.

I think Star Trek was up there for less time than Joe was...
shortround wrote:So I guess the big wall doesn't mean anything these days it is just what is starting in the next month or so that gets the big spot.
shortround wrote:Well that sucks you used to be able to track the big items by that wall now it seems like just another promotional tool. I'm just waiting for barbie to appear on the big wall then we will know that it doesn't mean squat anymore.

shortround wrote:Well picked up the last wave of joes untill 2010 today. I really like paris pursuit bareness.
Editor wrote:Here is a disturbing thought. IF Hasbro's big three action figure lines are Star Wars, GIJoe, and Transformers, and 2 of the three have seen Disney crossovers...
Is there a plan sitting on someones desk for GIDisney?
shortround wrote:What a load of crap hasbro has said that after the wave with paris pursuit bareness there wouldn't be anymore waves untill 2010 but I just went up to hiss tank and there on the front page was an announcement for G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra Wave 4 being found at both toy r us and walmart
shortround wrote:It was according to hasbro at this years joecon that the wave your talking about had been pushed back to 2010.
