It's why I feel the likes of CJB and Tifereth and even Hoistimus were able to rise through the rankings so quickly, but have now pretty much stagnated as there's very few higher than them to leech off.

It is good to be mentioned from time to time.

U r right Burn, im the kind who luvs cross level missions. I increased a lot in a short time but then stopped, not because i found no opposition. I couldnt play enough in the past months cuz i was really busy at university (my schedule was horrible  ) now im in vacations and i wanna beat as many cons/preds possible maybe bots too, i wanna be maximal ^^ .

It is true that in higher levels the r more cons. Personally i dont see a problem, i luv the challenge ;).

I'd hate that. It's the only place I can face Cons of level 10. Every time I check the missions, it's always a bunch of Cons levels 4-8, maybe a 9 sometimes.

yeah, you totally missed the point there M,G; if you turn the arena off all those level 10 cons they have to go to the missions aswell

obviously it's a perpetuating cycle you only go there becuase you can only find level10s there, they only go there becuase they can't find you there,

and before you say well then the bots will still be outnumbered, well guess what? you can only get 10 bots on each side maximum in any given mission so either you'll if you can get 10 bots on at the same time(or at least 4) you can fill up missions and stop yourself being outnumbered. which is good for everyone

i'd rather have half my missions full, than all my missions half full

and please don't put words in my mouth. libel offends.

I guess I should go on record as saying that even though I use him as the butt of my jokes alot I don't really have anythign against HO personally. Sure his n00b-thusiasm can be grating at times but from the PMs we've swaped in the past he seems fine enough.

And I'm all for mixing experienced players with newer players for the councils... it helps build up the next generation of player/leaders.
I know D-max hates it when I say this, but HO's situations reminds me alot of when Dyna started... he had alot of energy and despite us all trying to beat it the hell out of him he kept on. Eventually he became the beloved and respected leader of the RDD. Ok maybe not respected... or beloved.... mmm tolerated maybe. (I kid :P )

Anyways, I'd support cutting off the Arena after level 3. That was probably the last time I used it on any kind of regular basis.
Lord knows I could use the support in missions.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

ahhh poor Dynamax, I was really hard on him when I first started, and unfortunately I wasn't joking. I truly had it out for the guy, and I don't even know why. I think I must have been dealing with some issues in life and chose to take it out on him.

And before people jump up and down, I have apologised to him for it. Though he's probably forgotten. :P

I'm spending less time on the forums lately, mainly due to the game being down beforehand and the sheer work I have at the moment (after January though, I should be clear for the time being), so I'm missing these debates about me more often.

I think I've said this before, but I'll be happy with not being voted in, and would rather see someone else voted in if they will do a better job, I may want to be on the council, but if everyone else sees someone else (Red mainly) as a better candidate, then I'll respect their decision, because overall it works out better for us as a faction.

Getting more on topic, Tam, even though I'm nowhere near lv. 3, I fully agree with you, the Arena is really only supposed to be there to make money, and money is only a real concern for lower level players, everyone around lv. 3 and up seems to be loaded (or so I believe).

It would encourage a bit more fair play in the game...and stop the furries and squishys from hiding from the missions!

You do realise that in the crazy world of HMW the factions are backwards, it's the Decepticons that are honerable, orginised and true... not the cowardly, decitful, smelly autoboobs!

That's exactly the same problem I'm encountering under the current system; even putting one of my L10s in a mission with plenty of time on the clock, I rarely see any 'Cons above L9 get involved...but usually multiple L9+ Bots. Due to the lack of good opposition in missions, I can earn a lot more xp getting pummeled in the Arena at L10 or L11 than I can with a decisive win in an L6 - 10 mission. Beyond that, the Arena allows me to fight Sprockitz, increasing the amount of L10+ opponents available to me. Not saying Sprock is an Arena lurker, just that there's no high level Maximal vs Autobot missions. If the Arena were turned off, there would be more high-level 'Cons in the missions, sure, but less high-level opponents in general for me to face, as I wouldn't have anywhere to go up against the L10+ Maximals (and there's only one Predacon character above L8, so that's not an option). L11 is even worse than L10, as there are only 5 Decepticon characters (2 commanders) to fight in missions, but 10 potential opponents in the Arena and only 1 other Autobot character to compete with.

But, that said, I'll try an experiment and, for the next week, I'll play Brutallica (L11) only in the missions and see what happens. If I start seeing more high level 'Con opposition, I'll keep it up. If not, back to the Arena.

True that. I guess i just keep seeing the missions with no level 10s in them and think that's how it'll stay.

You mean they *can* find me there.

I'd actually rather be outnumbered. More of an experience distribution. Not overwhelmingly, mind you, but by 1 or 2.

I'm just throwing ideas out here:

drop all missions to 4 slots a side

make the RDD a seperate faction from the main Decepticon faction

bring back NPC(quint) missions

give the autobots massive xp boosts.

if you defected to the bots, you'd pretty much be you're own faction.

Dunno.

We seem to have a good habit of making those in charge disappear. Haven't seen Caelus around lately, and Mkall seems quiet ...

Oh, is that it? Sorry. No need to get offended, though. It happens. Happened to me once. Next time it would be more productive to just point out the error instead of complaining. But I'll make you a deal: I'll pay more attention to the code in my posts when you start proofreading yours. ;;)

I'll go correct it now.

Autobots seem to have more rammer alt modes than Deceptichumps, and thus the easy way out is the arena. Plus one on one is more honourable, and you filthy Deceptibums just want to gang up on us.

you do realise the idiocy of this statement right?

strafers do worse when they outnumber

thus it's best to have a rammer when you outnumber the enemy
(well really it's best to have a medic and not attack the outnumbered enemy at all)

of course the fact this topic was started by a con and the najority of the replies have been from cons about how to sort out the problem of bots not reaching the high levels in sufficiant numbers and how to remedy that

the cons have 87 alts which can ram
