But, I have to say that dino mode looks like Grimlock either ate too many Insecticons, or is pregnant.

Do the pieces need to detach, or do they remain in place during transformation?

They very much just stay there, and get involved in the transformation!

That's how it appeared in many of the pictures. It's one of the reasons this set is one of the best, in my opinion. I'm not averse to parts forming, but when the effort is there to avoid it? I think that's great!
Va'al wrote:There's a fairly bad quality review which shows how it works:
From the 8:20 mark onwards. It continues into the second part video, but as I said, it's almost unwatchable from the blurriness, shakiness and the figure not being in the shot most of the time. Still, only one out there that I've found so far!

There's actually two way to attach this set. One of which can remain attached but there is an alternate way to attach in bot mode. It comes with a few extra ball joint pieces for what they call classic mode. In this way, you detached the little T-rex arms and there is a little ball joint arm that you attach in their place. This allows you to attach the belly cover pieces directly to where the T-Rex arms attach. Then there is another ball joint piece that plugs into the holes on the belly cover pieces where you can attach the T-Rex arms. In the classic mode it can't be transformed.
