Where was it established that Michael Bay doesn't like Transformers? I think what would be more appropriate would be to say that you don't care for or like his iteration of TFs, thus you feel that the movies need a new direction. Simply because you don't like the films doesn't mean he's making them because he doesn't like TFs and has now decided to make 3 films just to give you the middle finger.

As far as a reboot goes, I'd be all for it, with one caveat. It can't be an adaptation of G1. I don't want to see More Than Meets the Eyes leap from 2D to 3D. And I don't want to see the '86 movie in 2014. I'm all far another new direction of the franchise, as Bay has done, that takes things to new heights. But I don't want to see regurgitated ideas just to stick to a rigidity of having to be the same as the franchises first steps.

I like the films, they're entertaining, even 2, as bad as it was, was still entertaining. but Bay has said in the past, in interviews, that he really doesn't like the whole concept, and originally wasnt that enthusiastic to do the 1st movie

a new director, might not want to continue Bay's version, or he might stick with that continuity, and make his own changes, depends on who it was anyway, in all honesty, wether a reboot i neccisary or not, that's probably what we'd be getting anyway

Its simple hot rod will show up and be a a pick up truck with no flames and galvatron will show up and be a pistol since they have been soo accurate so far but the abuse of my child hood heroes will continue its hollywood.. :sad:

I loved what Chris Nolan did with Batman Begings so perhaps somone else taking over the making of the Transformers movies would make for a much better movie.

I honestly don't think they should reboot Spiderman. they should just learn why 3 was worse than the first 2, and then blow us all away with 4. But whatever. I'm deffinately glad they rebooted Batman. I love The Dark Knight. Superman deffinately needs a reboot with a capital NEEDS! We'r gunna need a Justice League movie with Batman and Green Lantern coming out. I like that they didn't reboot the Hulk movie. They just fixed it so it wasn't so boring. The Fantastic Four doesn't need a reboot either. But most of all, Transformers deffinately doesn't need a reboot. They just have dramatically change the plot lines with a few changes seeming how they would get a new director.The movie wouldn't be the same if they didn't. I say it all depends on how DOTM ends. However, a reboot could kinda help the dumb story with the Fallen. I Didn't like how the matrix looked either. Or the fact that Prime wasn't a ranking. I say the second movie ruined the series anyway so why not?

Reboots need to be done far more sparingly. You need some time between movies like how there was almost a decade between Batman begins and the last film. If comics rebooted everytime someone made a bad issue they'd never get too far without rebooting. They just do slight retcons or keep going like the bad stuff never happened. Transformers can easily keep going with what they have so far. They haven't painted themselves into a corner by anyway means.

Bay leaves either way by dark of the moon. (unless Hasbro manages get him back for another; money can make anything happen.) So you will likely see a new director regardless of a reboot. I'd prefer new stories than having do whole origin story and recreate a new mythos when it hasn't even been decade old. This just seems too premature and the story hasn't been remotely bad enough to warrent stopping.

I posted this in another thread but figured it'd be appropriate here...

I like Michael Bay's sensibilities for the past two films. He's an expert at car chases and explosions. So having a movie about transforming cars that make things explode obviously appeals to Bay's expertise.

After watching Unstoppable, I realized after Michael Bay leaves after the third film, Tony Scott would be really awesome with the Transformers franchise. Almost the same style in terms of action and comes from the same Bruckheimer school.

And I love the relationship between Sam & Bumblebee, which is the crux of this new iteration of Transformers especially in the first film. I hope they keep this dynamic in future films.

I've seen movie series that are far more reboot happy than anything America's done (HELLO Godzilla!). Honestly, whether we see a reboot will be decided by a few factors.

1. How this particular trilogy ends.
2. How much money it makes (a no brainer at this point).
3. Whether Bay can be brought back at a later date (unlikely, he wants to move on).
4. Whether Hasbro wants more movies to be made (another no brainer, it's a cash cow franchise).

Ultimately my prediction is with a continuation under a new director. Same continuity, but probably with a new cast.

I'd say continuation, with more thought into it, cause there is still much to be told, many characters to see. I just don't want to see combiners that can be defeated by the twins and fake weapons again.

I'd just like to see a combiner that stood up to it's legacy. I get it... movieverse, but after reading it's profile... named after the winds on cybertron.... come on, this thing had trouble with the pyramid and the twins. It was ok for what it was, just ummm... We need to use our "imagination" a little better with the next one. If there is another?

Rail guns really do exist, they just aren't used in active duty because they basically break too often and require too much power to be viable in the field. They were looking to make versions soldiers could use in the field to phase out M16s. In theory the Navy could have one of those prototypes still on a ship from a test. Whether it works remotely as well as the movie showed is another story, but they do however exist.

This is the only reason I didn't want him in DOTM. If Unicron is going to be in a movie, you make damn sure it's the last one! Plus they need to take at least 3 whole movies to build up his arrival anyway. Unicron hasn't even been mentioned in the first 2.

Well, yes in that sense they exist... but not like in the movie. Those kind of rail guns are not so Classified as Simmons was crying about. None like that kind. but yeah they are out there.

So it does exist, but it's too low-quality to use in real combat. Yet.

Altough, seeing how efficient it was against Devastator in ROTF, they could use it in DOTM agaist the D'cons. And more than just one shot.

Given there's an alien invasion that world had a bit more reason to pursue the technology than ours does. Also who knows if studying the corpses of Decepticons might given them ideas on how construct a better one. I ultimately didn't find the Axiom gun(what they refer to it as in the Rotf games since they have alot of them there.) to be that far fetched as who knows if it would be able to fire again heh. (the problem real world rail guns have they break too dang easy.)
