I loved the movie, very intense, and i can't stop thinking about it. I'm definately going to see it again. Yes,there were some good shots of the monster, but i really wanted more. I'm not dissapointed though, the movie worked really well. Very creepy and dark, and really, not particurly what i was expecting, but, i got a fantastic treat anyway. I would suggest seeing it in theatres, because if you were to watch a pirated cam version of this flick, you'd miss half of the movie because of the dark way it was shot, maybe an anti-piracy tactic. Yeah, all in all this movie rocked, and i've got to see it again.

Everyone in the theater was into the movie. When the movie ends, there was 10 seconds of dead silence...

Um.. That is because the producers did not want to give the monster away.
Go see it and you will see the monster.

I realize that . But what is the Movie about? Whats the significance of the name Cloverfield? I mean That cant be the name of the Monster so what harm is giving us a little premise.
But Yeah I know Hollywood.
All Im saying is that it cant be anything that scary that we hadnt seen before. A Bunch of wasted hype and the Joke will be on us.

I asked this to someone on another board, what exactly were you expecting from the movie?

TheMuffin wrote:Well from what I understand. And from what Abrahms has said. This monster has been down in that Mariannas? Trench which is the deepest part of the ocean for thousands of years. They've discovered freaky creatures from down there that look completely alien. They're devoid of color and just look nutty. I get the feeling that these were actually barnacle type things that had stuck to it over the thousands of years and when it came up top, the temperature caused them to sort of unthaw and wake up. Hence you have these crab type things no one has ever seen before that emit toxins through their fangs. Like an ocean bound scorpion or Black Widow spider.
Least that is the idea that I came up with.

That makes sense to me.

It wasn't when the monster was towering over Hud? Is he gonna get eaten? Is he not gonna get eaten? Frig. *That* was nerve wracking.

Maybe to thin the blood of the Cloverfield monster or such and to be bit by them might affect the pressurization or such of our blood to where we would explode. Get Dr. House in here to come up with a theory. I just know it isn't Lupus.

What if IS Lupus?
I thought it was a fun movie, I was kinda hoping to see a flaming hobo, (see the movie get the joke). If you watch right before the credits roll, you'll see the creature falling out of the sky as they pan over Coney Island.
Can't wait for Cloverfield vs. Mecha-Cloverfield.
