You just named a bunch of 3rd party items. When it comes to official MP figures, the MP-01 scale is dead.

Maybe it's just the camera angle but the head looks weird.

Btw tsutsukakushi, nothing against peaugh but I don't accept is reviews as gospel truth or from a man who just died and made god.

There were certain reviews he did on the KO G1 gestalt figs that though technically accurate, glossed over certain details that evry reviewer should have mentioned.

More than that, DacaToy's Jetfire and the DinoRobots are both scaled to MP-10, not MP-01, so the argument is moot. They may 'look good' with MP-01, but that's not for whom they were intended.

MP-01 scale is dead.

You got it all backwards. Hasbro is the one that pays liscense fees to Takara on the Transformers brand.

Buddy, you're so wrong. It has been stated by the top Hasbro brass at BotCon that they own the brand and let TakaraTomy do whatever they want in Japan.

You're digging a huge hole for yourself if you continue to think otherwise.

Carnage in C-Minor, the episode had several other unique (interesting) animation errors.

I don't think this toy necessarily fits with Hasui's MP figures in robot-mode, but regardless, that's easily the best Ultra Magnus toy I've seen so far. It's impressive how they matched the cab, and I like the fact that he has his own unique transformation without a white Optimus Prime inside. I think Titanium Magnus is the only other to do that.
The white robot wasn't part of the fiction, it was even ignored in his two G1 toy commercials.

I'm curious to see how the official Takara version will turn out.

I'm not arguing that the MP-01 scale is dead. I'm saying that, to me, the figures I listed look better with MP-01 than MP-10. I'm not saying it's something set in stone, or it should be. It's just my opinion. It's irrelevant if you disagree, it's not gonna change my mind, it's a matter of personal preference. You can like the current MP scale, that's fine. I have no problem with that or the scale itself. I just prefer MP-01 over MP-10 when it comes to Optimus figures. Just because the manufacturer (and probably even the majority of the fandom) says MP-10 is better, doesn't mean I can't like MP-01 better. My choice.

I'm not saying you have to believe MP-10 is superior to MP-01, or that you have to display your toys a specific way other than the way you like.

I'm just saying manufacturers aren't scaling new figures to MP-01, and that scale for all intents and purposes has been bypassed. If you don't care, awesome for you.

:D My point exactly.

I'm liking this figure, but not sure if I want to shell out nearly $200 for it. Is it pretty much agreed upon that MP-22 won't see retailers until next year?

I'm estimating March-April 2015 for the Takara MP-22 UM version.

Thinking the MP-20 & MP-21 toy will take longer than estimated for takara to release them. Possible repaints might delay MP-22 UM even further.

If Takara had plans to release MP-22 in 2014. Takara would have showed test shots samples at a few overseas toys shows by now.

Manufactors? does this include everything or just HasTak's MP TF toy line?

Because HasTak released that huge DOTM Ultimate Optimus toy that was in MP-01 scale. HasTak released that Huge BH Optimus toy that was in MP-01 scale.

Generations released Titan Metroplex. TF4 is releasing that one step Grimlock toy that is MP-01 scale.

3rd parties TF companies are releasing some non-Five member combiners,Singular huge toys like KFC UM,BTS Nova Lord,DC Kronos,3rd party new sculpt Metroplex,Those Huge scale MP Dinobots and the list goes on.

The point was,Hastak is back at making bigger scale toys for Classics Generations. So the MP-01 Scale & bigger is not dead for HasTak.

When the economy went bad around 2008. It took HasTak a while to adjust their TF toy scales to make them smaller. As the HasTak TF toy process from step 0 to the last step takes at minimal 18 months. around 2010-2011,Is when HasTak reduced the scale in Classics Generations.

I don't know where some TF fans got it in their heads. That the newer smaller scale for Classics,Generations was a permanet Fixated thing. Because it never was

Some like myself knew the Generations toys scales would get increased aqain in bigger, more supply. Once the Bad Economy got a bit better. Flash forward to 2012-2014 & Takatak has Created Metroplex,Leader scale Jetfire & Leader scale Megatron.

I suspect part of the reasons why HasTak created those Voyager sized cars-bots for the MP TF toy line. Was due to buyers not wanting or being able to afford the bigger higher priced MP TF toys. It looks like the Econonmy got betterm,,So Hastak & buyers want bigger scale MP TF toys like 11-13 inch MP Starsaber & 11-13 inch MP-22 Ultra Magnus.

I fully suspec Hasbro was the one who came up with the idea to reduce the scale for the MP TF toy line. Because Hasbro thought TRU,Walmart,Target & Kmart would welcome the Voyager sized cars-bots. As they would take up less shelf space & cost less. Since it took Hasbro so long to finally convince TRU stores to stock those voyager sized MP Cars-bots. We can only assume TRU felt it hard to convince it's customers to spend $40 to $50 for a tiny scaled Voyager MP cars bots. I suspect Hasbro then asked Takara to once again up the MP TF toy scale. Because TRU had a easier time convincing buyers to pay $80 to $140 for a much bigger scale TF toy on the MP level. This is why,I suspect we are getting MP-22 UM,MP-Starsaber & MP Victoryleo, all that will scale around MP-01 toy scale.

Hastak never truly phased out that 11-13 inch TF toy scale that MP-01 used. HasTak still uses it in the movie verse,TFA & TFP. For all those Ultimate scaled Optimus toys.

Wait......is this not speculation?

Shouldn't that topic be posted on MP-01 scale is back or something and not KFC HM not UM

In this day and age, just about any Tom, Dick and Harry can claim this and that, but at the same time, others will call you out if you've got nothing to substantiate your claims.

He tends to do that. He likes large toys. I dont know where he is getting the idea that MP-01 scale is coming back. Takara realized a smaller less coffee table sized MP scale would sell better. Theyre still to big for me, but for many it works. MP-10 scale is done for good.

Right well ... back on topic people. You're more than welcome to go and start another thread and speculate/discuss scale, conspiracy theories between Takara and Hasbro and what not.

What I don't want to see is stuff like this.
