Beautiful box, Knew it would be based off the box KFC Ultra Magnus was packaged with.

Love the book style box as it reminds me of MMC Hexatrons box and those later HasTak G-1 Reissues toy boxes.

I Really like the colours and detail but i'm on the fence about that transformation. The transformation seems unnecessarily complicated. Lots of tabbing and massaging brittle and delicate looking pieces into place. Interesting they made a Blaster transformation so intricate. It doesn't look very fun at all.

How much is it going for?

Most places has it for 140 not sure about diecast content though haven't really been following this things development

Just saw the video review, Think this is a epic toy. Blown away how articulated this toy is. The toy has excellent beautiful high sculpt. It was a smart move to do the toy in high glossy premium colors. The option of having Two heads is a nice thing to have. Love that this toy can hold the 1980's cassettes in the cassette holder. KFC scaling Transistor with HasTak MP Soundwave was a brilliant move on their part.

This is the only part of your statement that I can't agree with. I really want to like this guy. I'm not put off, or offended, by the empty bottom in alt mode. My only design complaint is how the arms cut through the shoulder pads when spreading out; I wish it was designed more like MP Soundwave. But that metallic candy red color makes me feel like he is going to look so out of place from all my other figures.

I'm looking forward to seeing this guy paired up with others' MPs, which will also allow me to hear about any possible QC issues (this is KFC, after all). I just can't put my pre-order in for now.

Probably so, which is another concern. If there were a V2 that was a flat red (or more like official MP toy coloring) then I'd likely jump on this as soon as I could manuever some spending cash. For now, it's a wait and see. But I'm not counting it out completely.

I for one love the shiny colouring. I wonder if it's just the plastic colour itself or if it's paint, but either way it's good. The actual shade is quite close to Blaster's on screen model, and for all we know, Blaster could have been shiny- the show's animation was so primitive that Megatron looked more like a flat stone grey than silver metal.

Also, it's shiny, that's a justification in itself.

I like the shiny too, but as I said earlier it just feels like it will make the figure stick out (in the wrong way) next to other MPs.

Think doing a flat, less shinny red color for KFC Blaster would be a down grade not a upgrade for the toy. Compared to the Shinny gloss red the toy currently has.

Think most of the 1986 TF movie characters were given glossy animation colors. So this KFC Transistor might homage the movie version animation.

the straws your grasping at are pretty thin. whats more likely is they went with the "premium" paint apps to make it look more, well... premium. nicer things sell better.

Honestly I don't think he'll stand out that much next to other MPs. Soundwave has plenty of shiny paint (which you could argue should have been white instead of silver but that would be silly) and the MP line in general tends to use really nice glossy paint. The shiny paint would probably leave him looking a lot more MP-worthy than he would if he was just giving bare red plastic or matte red paint. Plus, Blaster being the funky 'bot he is, having a shiny finish totally suits the character.

I like the glossy red and it has plenty of paint apps , i hate how many red and blue figures with lack of paint kfc have , so is a refreshing change and the standard they should have had from the start .

How do you tell metallic paint from non metallic paint in a cartoon ? After all, they are all made of metal.... :-?

The thing is: You don't mold it in a (FLAT RED PLASTIC) but in a gloss red plastic and is done when the mold is very smooth or polished . The plastic takes on what ever the mold looks like inside, ruff, smooth, lines, etc . If KFC's molds are very smooth inside, the plastic will look very glossy also.

If the do put out a reg. gloss plastic , I'm picking it up and selling this one off for what ever I can get at the time, don't care.

Last Night, I watched Peaugh's KFC final version Transistor Blaster video review. Think Peaugh did another fine job in this video review. Enjoyed watching the toy get transformed and the scale comparisons with MP Soundwave. Thought Peaugh did a great job showing off all the articulation and sculpted details this toy has. Peaugh is one of my favorite TF toy video reviewers and I've been watching his videos for years. Think he does a great job and I think he is very honest and trust worthy. I trust him a lot because he has built up a solid positive reputation in this TF fandom among fans.

Hey I love peaugh too, but try to fine a third party toy he says he doesn't like and warn fans to not buy it.

i watch peughs videos mostly because... he reviews pretty much everything. but for as many videos as he makes theyre pretty amateurish. id like to see him edit more (or at all). and i really feel he's a salesman. as mentioned above, he almost never says "dont buy this". my most recent beef with him was his review of "ark studios disguizers" and not even mentioning the ludicrous cost of them.

if i were to praise ANY youtube reviewers, itd be Vangelus, and Thew. they truely seem honest, theyre hilarious, and i cannot get enough of those guys. hell, even my girlfriend watches them :lol:

I like Peaugh because he's never rude in his videos and he doesn't talk down to the audience. Sometimes, he's downright hilarious (check out the Airachnid review). I like how he tries to cover a lot of lines and usually all of the figures in it, or close to it.

Vange1us is top notch. His range is a bit a limited in what he reviews, but his production values are amazing and he's absolutely hilarious. I love the self deprecating joke he runs with, it's so good.

Baltmatrix is good, but he gets flustered sometimes and recently has skipped out on the editing which makes it weird when he repeats himself and just carries on as if nothing happened. In all fairness, though, and this is a big thing... He's recently become a father for the first time and that will always take priority and should. I give him a lot of credit, considering. Not an easy juggle.

Back on topic, though, I'm beginning to cave. I really, really want this KFC Blaster. Dang it looks good and the transformation is awesome.

So...pretty much none of them? All of the main ones receive samples now, these days. Or, I should say, usually. Peaugh has received figure samples he put down, such as Bad Cube's Brawn and Outback. He even said they're not worth the money.
