there is no trailer for "Avengers: Civil War"

its "CAPTAIN AMERICA; Civil War"

and Bucky is about as strong as Cap

You do realise he does that sort of thing intentionally to troll yeah?

A change of name, a slight change of stance, and he manages to fool almost everyone. Even I'm not sure that's who I think it is.

I have to wait until IP addresses match up, I didn't get exact matches this time but they were close enough to the ones DG/GM used.

God, I don't know where to start. There's a lot to take in. This is easily the best marvel movie at the moment and the fight scenes are a thing if beauty especially the airport scene which is the big fight of the movie, in more ways than one with the introduction of giant man

Okay, time to break it down.
Plot: while I had been reading stuff about the movie I didn't go out my way to find spoilers about why all this was going down but it was a nice way to reinforce the theme of culpability by re imagining baron zemo into someone who had lost everyone thanks to the events of Age of Ultron. His mission was to break apart the avengers and boy...did he succeed. You may think that this should of been a Avengers movie by this setup and you would be partly right as it affects everyone, with Captain America and Iron Man bearing a lot of the focus.
I'm babbling so, moving on to a big thing in the movie. Spiderman. I wasn't sure about Tom Holland at first but after this I have no concerns whatsoever. He's the perfect Peter Parker, looking the part and sounding the part. His Spiderman is also the best incarnation so far. Black Panther was also handled well and the after credits scene sets him up for his solo movie and offers a potential plot for it now he's harbouring winter soldier and the secret avengers team.

That will do for now, there's still a lot more I can talk about but I need to sleep on it first.

UK and Australia both have long weekends, so I'm guessing that's why.

But hey, there are other big releases that we've had to wait up to two months for just so they tie in with school holidays. Then they turn around and wonder why Australians pirate so much.
Completely disregarding the fact modern Australia was founded as a penal colony.

Simply put, this movie is awesome, and if it's an indication of what the Russo Brothers are capable of, then the Infinity War movies are going to be awesome as well.

This is very much a Captain America movie, while there's a lot of other Avengers (and a couple of newbies), the story continues to build on what The First Avenger and Winter Soldier had established.

Great introduction of T'challa/Black Panther. Very much looking forward to his solo outing now.

Spider-Man? Going to reserve my opinion on Tom Holland until his solo outing as well. Speaking of Spider-Man ... the whole "Civil War" is about reigning in The Avengers, reigning in responsibility. Which is why I disliked the way Stark turns up at the Parker residence and recruits a teenager who has had his abilities for six months, and flies him around the world to put him smack bang in an all out super-powered brawl. To me that just screams irresponsible.

Other characters ...

It appears they're going to explore the Scarlet Witch/Vision relationship. Both had a great outing in this movie as their characters were already established, allowing them to build on them.

Falcon also had the benefit of having his character established and they built on his character, plus his wings abilities. Loved how they worked as a shield. Plus ... REDWING! (Of sorts)

Black Widow / Hawkeye ... these guys are effectively veterans of the MCU and it shows. While they had their screen time, they took a back seat.

Scott Lang - While his time was limited, he was still fun, if anything his presence was only to show off Giant Man.

Stark - If anyone has an overall story arc in the MCU, it's Tony Stark. Iron Man began the journey and we've watched him deal with his near death in Avengers, and the break down of his relationship with Pepper, to his transition from active combatant to management. This movie continued that story as he's confronted with the truth ... that the Winter Soldier killed his parents ... and Steve knew about it.

The story of Peggy Carter comes to an end with her passing, and the revelation that her and Sharon were related.

Definitely worth seeing.

I completely forgot that they were in charge of the infinity war movies, I have faith in them that they will deliver.

You make a good point about Tony with Peter Parker. I wonder though if that was his ego again though, dragging a rookie in like that and then just using him as a tool to just go after winter soldier, instead of using him as an individual.
I also liked the budding Wanda and Vision relationship, especially their first scene together in the movie and him cooking for her. This was an important movie for her as well since she's pretty much the straw that broke the camels back with regards to the sokova accords.

My question about starks parents though, what was that substance they had and when/ how did Steve find out? I know that the substance was obviously important to me creation of the rest of the winter soldiers but was it another attempt at the super soldier serum?

Last important question though, whose side did you think was right Burn?

I can only but wholeheartedly agree. This movie is awesome.

It knows what it's doing, and knows how to deliver each and every character.

If The Russo Brothers can keep Disney meddling to a minimum for the infinity gauntlet, its going to be awesome.

I think the introduction of Spider-Man is great. Stark is stressed, he needs help. He apparently has been following Parker's exploits, so has a sense of what he can do. Yes it irresponsible, but this is Stark. It fits perfectly with his character.

I was a little weary about Tom Holland, but from what is shown, I think, he's is going to work great. Can't wait for Homecoming.

All in all, this is how you do a fight movie. I hope DC / WB were taking notes. Everything DoJ got wrong, Civil War got right.

9 out of 10 in my book. Outstanding movie.

I just got back from seeing Civil War. It was good. Not great, there have been definitely better Marvel movies. It did have some great moments, though. Giant Man, "Mr. Stank" and of course the airport fight. Awesome. I liked Spider-Man as well, it looked like his best version on screen so far. Hopefully the actual movie with Tom Holland will be as good. I think Cap was wrong with trying to protect Bucky. He was putting his personal feelings above justice. I understand that Bucky was under mind-control, but he shouldn't get off scott-free, and just freezing him wasn't the right punishment. At 1st I actually wanted Tony to kill him, but I knew that wouldn't happen in a Marvel movie, and it would have been wrong. But he did deserve a severe ass-beating, as did Rogers for protecting him. I hope Tony gets his vengeance down the road. Oh, and Widow is now a backstabbing bitch. But what should I expect from a double agent in the 1st place anyway. Overall, I did like it, and I still say it should have been called an Avengers movie, not a Captain America movie.

See, I disagree to an extent. If anything, the Captain America moves aren't JUST about Captain America, having seen all three you can step back and look at them and say "These movies are about Bucky too".

Which, given his lack of involvement in the Avengers, make it a Captain America movie.

I am sorely disappointed that Steve Rogers is still alive.

I mean, I don't want to lose a character who is played so well, but Somebody needed to die in this film, and it should've been Cap. I'm just...I don't usuLly mind when they change the story from the source material, but that is one of the biggest things to happen in the Covil War story. It's like...if someone were to remake Star Wars, and not have Luke be Vader's son. Or like, when Disney eventually does a live action version of The Little Mermaid, leaving out the Sea Witch. Or the Red Wedding ending with Robb going on a rampage and eventually exCting his revenge on Goeffry.

You make some good points but what punishment is fitting for someone who didn't have any control over their actions. People like that need help not more punishment.

Tony obviously deserved justice, and Bucky was right there in shame but it was misplaced rage, he should be going after the remnants of Hydra for ordering his parents death in the first place.

As for the ending, Bucky was going under to protect others from himself incase he reverted to his programming, it was a bittersweet ending as his character doesn't get closure.

I saw a video on YouTube where they compared Bucky to Jessica Jones, so should Jessica Jones be punished for her actions while she was being controlled by kilgrave?

Actually nem, my niece will be relived he survived  considering the amount of changes that took place with this adaption, cap surviving made perfect sense. As a writer I believe that we shouldn't kill characters because we can just when we need to, and I don't think they needed to here.

I don't necessarily agree that. Icky should be outright punished, but shouldn't Cap go about this whole movie differently? To me it seemed like his whole reason for not signing the accords was "I'm not doing it because I don't like it and my childhood friend is more important than being reasonable and logical."

He should've tried at least explaining to Tony what Zemo was doing in the interrogation. Wouldn't a German Sokovian doctor saying the words "I want to see an empire fall" in thT exact order raise some pretty big red flags? He never once mentioned that to Tony.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:I don't necessarily agree that.

Actually caps reasoning to me was that while it looks like it would work, being under the thumb of the UN it would restrict them in doing what they're supposed to do, I.e. save the day and deal with the threats that the military just can't deal with. They may also be sent into places that they just don't want to go. Tony may say safeguards may be put into place later but let's face it, that isn't a guaranteed thing. Basically they would be forced to work under other people's agendas and on the world stage, nations only care about themselves (this is taken to the extremes in movies)

I can't remember the exact events that led to the super human registration act being repealed in the comics but it came after a distinct bleak period as the likes of Norman Osborne took the reigns of global sercuity in the dark reign event.

I can see the sokovia accords getting torn up in the aftermath of Infinity War, maybe after they've been abused in Thanos favour. Plus we all know Vision is going bye bye for a little while.

Can people please explain to me though why Bucky should be punished for things beyond his control? I'm asking as I have wrote a very similar situation in my stories but I wasn't quite expecting people to be asking that a brainwashed guy to be accountable for the actions that were programmed into him that bound his will.
