That's why it was my favorite moment. They all argued whether Vision was good or bad, and that was the most clear-cut way of settling it. I loved the look on all their faces afterwards. I did miss 1 thing: Stark didn't play any AC/DC. :-(

Unless I'm mistaken, Stark hasn't played AC/DC since Iron Man 3.

It's the last film he was in at all. Did he play AC/DC in that one? I only saw it once and don't remember.

If memory serves, no, there wasn't any AC/DC in IM 3. Lots of Christmas songs, though.

The best part about AoU was DareDevil showing up and getting stabbed a bunch.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe

Postby Duke of Luns » Mon May 04, 2015 10:08 pm

So I've been avoiding this thread until I saw it today. Spoiler tags necessary? Eh, just in case I'll use 'em:

It was awesome. I think better than the first one. Hawkeye has a family? Didn't see that coming, and Widow/Banner? Hmm, I like nifty twists like that. Cap was awesome as always, and I really liked his "Language!" line. I choose not to swear, so I'm with him there.

One thing I read online is that every Marvel Phase 2 film has a reference to Empire Strikes Back in it. Someone loses an arm. This film was no exception, as Klaw (Klaue?) lost his. Nice touch, hope he's back for Black Panther.

Couple minor nitpicks: Falcon wasn't present at the final battle. Disappointing there, but hey War Machine's back in action(War Machine Roxxx). Baron Von Strucker was wasted. I don't have much love for the character, but he is the most wasted character in the MCU. And Quicksilver died. Yeah...why? He wasn't X-ceptionally great, but it stinks he won't be around for any future movies, though comic book rules do apply. Regardless, we didn't get to see Cap Kooky Quartet in a real scene together, and probably never will.

And something I don't think anyone has commented on: Tony's replacement A.I., Friday. Perhaps a reference to the Smartship Friday from Power Pack? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartship_Friday Confirmation, other reference? I'd be up for Power Pack in the MCU.

Also, the holder for the Hulkbuster armor is called Veronica. Does he have a holder for the Thorbuster armor called Betty?

According to Age of Ultron fibryllium is the strongest metal on the planet. I thought it was adamantium.

There's no such thing as fibryllium. >:oP

Avengers Quicksilver was much slower than X-men Quicksilver. The Hulk was not enough of a factor in the movie. Thanos is becoming more and more of a joke in my eyes ( ie. Not as powerful as I thought, especially in Guardians of the Galaxy). I don't like where the story is going. It looks like it's becoming too fantasy and sci-fi. I want them to build the franchise around the Hulk.

Yeah, IMO IM3 was the weakest of the trilogy. While is all sounds really cool on paper (automated Iron Man suits against self-regenerating, fire-breathing superhumans), I was frankly underwhelmed by the actual fights.

While it was decent story-wise, it just lacked that "something" that gave the previous 2 movies that feel of an Iron Man movie. That missing "something" was probably Jon Favreau.

Zeek99g wrote:I think he did get wasted at his birthday party in Iron Man 2 though.

Duke, F.R.I.D.A.Y., in the comics, was designed by Tony so he wouldn't have to hire another intern/secretary. She is simply called "Friday" as a reference to "His Girl Friday."

In the film, F.R.I.D.A.Y. is one of apparently several replacement AIs for. Tony to put into the armor. I'm not sure what F.R.I.D.A.Y. Actually stands for, but I assume it's Female Robot In De Armor, Yay!
