Even though I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, looking through the future line-up I've decided to skip most of Phase 3. Civil War, Black Panther and Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 are the only Phase 3 films I plan to watch because they're the only ones I have any interest in. I didn't like the Thor films so Ragnarok is an easy pass, I'm reserving judgement for Spider-Man until we know more about it, I don't know or care very much about Doctor Strange, Carol Danvers or the Inhumans, and while I enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy I'm not interested in a sequel.

Tom Holland cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

I'm a bit unsure of this actor choice but I'll reserve judgement till we see how he does spiderman. Some of the comments I've seen online have been ridiculous though, complaining that he's British (wasn't Andrew garfield British? People also responded with this by saying imagine if James bond was played by a non British actor...). There is also people saying about getting his origin story again when it's highly doubtful since he's going to be introduced in a movie which has a lot going on in the first place.
Honestly I'm interested in seeing how they play out this high school setting their going for and the main thing I want them to get right is Eddie Brock, maybe doing it the way the spectacular spider man did it would be best.

At this point, I didn't expect Spider-Man to appear in Captain America at all. Marvel is really cutting it close there with filming underway. He'll probably be just another cameo, but if he ends up being something more, I will joypuke on my wife and all over the theater.

I wish he would to show up until later. Although I do understand his importance to the Civil War story. I'm just worried this movie will have too much going on.

Well, I hope he'll do well in the role, I do agree that they seem to be making Captain America: Civil War into Avengers: Civil War. But, I have faith in Marvel.
As much as I enjoy Asa Butterfield and hoped he'd gotten the role, this does free him up for Disney's Artemis Fowl, a role he was practically born for.

To be fair, we all knew what was going to happen as soon as Civil War was announced but we shall see how it turns out as we've got about 10 months to Civil War now?

I really wish they would just call it "Civil War," which IMO, would make me feel better about the movie as opposed to it being a Cap3 film with more proportional focus on other characters. I don't know.
I just have to keep telling myself "Disney takes of us, Disney takes care of us..."

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Civil War seemed more of a Captain focused story once those kids were murdered, so yeah, I'm okay with Cap being the central focus of the story. Plus, it's the MCU. They could take a huge dump on 616-continuity and still make it awesome.

Actually it was Captain America and Iron Man central, with Spider-Man stuck in the middle. All three are involved so this movie has a lot of story to tell. The disagreements between Rogers and Stark, Crossbones' involvement, Winter Soldiers involvement, plus there's Avengers 2.0 and Spider-Man, possible S.H.I.E.L.D. involvement, all the while setting up future Avengers and Spider-Man movies.

From what I've learned from most "fans" you can do anything with a movie, as long as you don't change the way anything looks.
