my guess is that we will get something much different.

I know they'll be changes as Mister Fantastic was Starks right hand guy for this as well.

However I don't think they'll be changing the core concept by much. They don't want to upset too many fans

I never said what I was expecting, so thank you for reading into things.

I don't expect things to be faithful, there's too much not told in the movies to do so. Plus they've just revealed that T'Challa will be the one in the middle. So yes, we'll get something different, we always do with these movies.

Apparently Tom Holland has been secretly practicing gymnastics for months preparing for the role of Spider-Man. Talk about commitment. I mean, look at this guy!

So Ant Man is out. Went and saw it today.

I liked it. It was really just your typical Marvel intro movie with enough "easter eggs" to remind you that it's connected the larger MCU (including a Spider-Man reference), including an appearance by an aged Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, both of which worked extensively with Hank Pym decades ago.

There's a mid-credit scene as well as a post-credit scene which is directly related to Civil War.

And of course, Stan Lee.

All in all, good movie, not spectacular, but it does the job of introducing more characters to the MCU.

What firm does Stan Lee take in this film then? Deadpool has apparently already revealed it's Stan Lee cameo, and I think it's probably his favourite.

Post-credit - Falcon meets up with Cap in a bunker where they have Bucky imprisoned by his arm. They talk about how this would have been easier last week before "The Accords" and that they can't get Starks help. But that's okay, Falcon "knows a guy"

He was good, though you probably could have gotten any studly Hollywood actor to do the role. My one complaint would be the times when he was a smartarse I was reminded of Chris Pratts Starlord.

Bartender, barely five seconds, but it's his cameo.

Thank you. I like Rudd as an actor, but it's hard time see him as anything other than an Aptow player. Can't wait for this movie to hit redbox.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was worried I might be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised to not hate it.

Although I really really wish there was more to tie it in to Age of Ultron. He needs more screen time.

It has some odd Cameos/references in there - such as what looks like one of Marvel's Cosmic beings when he shirks a we bit to far.

Did Disney buy Thomas the Tank Engine when I wasn't looking as he's sure in the Ant Man movie a lot.

(something I thought I'd never say - well period) : I liked it when Thomas the Tank Engine crushed the police car.

I recommend reading Scott Lang's Comic bio if you don't follow every Marvel comic religiously - it's fascinating reading who he's been shacked up with woman wise over the years - especially as so many of them will be in the MCU over the next couple of years - just a coincidence - but I was still amused by it.

I hope the other license holders do get friendlier with Marvel over time as there is certain stories that would be great to see as movies that can't really be easily told as they involve say Mutants & asguard for example.

Overall I think Marvel do a better job of their movies than either Fox or Sony do and long term I'd say over most DC related Movies too (if they keep the quality up).

That red Blu-Ray case made me do a double take and think HD-DVD. Anyone remember that format?

So it's available digitally almost a full month before Blu-Ray. I've noticed that's becoming a trend. Kinda bugs me we have to arbitrarily wait, but as long as it doesn't obliterate physical releases I'm okay with it.

If it's the same(or some variation) on the one that was leaked from Comic-con, he makes another fourth wall breaking reference. I don't want a green suit! Or animated!

Ya know, if they'd used Mimic instead of Deadpool in Origins things would have made so much more sense.

I do think the tone of the erectile function joke slapped on the end of the latest Fantastic Four Trailer was a bad move as it seems tailor made to make woman viewers stay away in droves simply by association.

Which they'd perhaps do anyway as the cast has very little appeal to it anyway... so asking a Fantastic Four Movie to stand on it's story isn't going to happen in any Universe we live in.

---

I think Age of Ultron like Prometheus is a Movie that needs a new cut and for once not a Directors cut but a "Someone with some sense of story and some common sense cut".

You can put up with Movies being extended on a Home format more than on Cinema Release - and AOU really needs some of it's plot holes filling in as it looks like it's been edited by a senile chimp as it is. It's a pity really as you can just except that The Avengers (assemble) is a semi-awful Movie as it is, it still though does what it's supposed to as a "How the gang got together movie" but when you can see the only thing that is stopping AOE being a lot better is it's editing it's a darn shame to see it choke on it's own terrible cutting to a run time choices .

I never felt I was missing great chunks of story watching Ant Man or Guardian of the Galaxy (Heck Guardians could do with loosing 10-or-15 minutes and whole characters could be entirely removed too - Karen Gillan is sort of terrible in it I could have done with out that whole scene with her & Thanos & The non-entity rent-a-villian with the hammer "Ronan") But AOU is so chopped to bits and as it's missing an hour or so of footage you can only just hope that some of the scenes that flesh things out exist to be put back in sometime to turn a seven out of ten into an 8 perhaps.

They can leave out any further Hawkeye's family shtickt though or Drunk Stan Lee (heck his whole cameo should have enthusiastically been cut out).

I suspect a lot of people will be glad to see the end of those... He can save it for Princess Diaries 3 or something.

I'm starting to get the same feeling I get from a DelToro Movie which is they need to be edited by someone else entirely than who actually done them as they also leave boring pointless bits in and then cut out story essential info.

They also need to allow the MCU music to be a bit less bland too.

Thank you Marvel, for agreeing to look the other way on the Deadpool movie and let the filmmaker's truly go to town on this.

RAR wrote:I do think the tone of the erectile function joke slapped on the end of the latest Fantastic Four Trailer was a bad move as it seems tailor made to make woman viewers stay away in droves simply by association.

Missed that trailer, but honestly, most women aren't going to be pushed away from a film cause it makes a joke like that, if that was so, well, Avengers would've flat out failed ("This usually works"). And if all women were put off a film for some dirty jokes, well, we wouldn't have about 65% of romantic comedies.

RAR wrote:Which they'd perhaps do anyway as the cast has very little appeal to it anyway... so asking a Fantastic Four Movie to stand on it's story isn't going to happen in any Universe we live in.

How does it have little appeal? It's going to be another fun superhero romp. Will it be as good as some of the Marvel films (GOTG, CA: TFA?)? No, but it'll be better then Origins: Wolverine.
