Dead Metal wrote:Looks pretty cool, so far it just looks like Prime done in 2D.
But I thought this was supposed to be 3D chracters on painted backgrounds. So either the flyers are a little confused, or these are really just character studies and the show will just use the same stuff from Prime with a few tweaks and changes.
I'm thinking these might just be preliminary drawings created purely for promotional purposes. After all, the very first images we saw of the Prime cast on Hubworld.com features some cell-shaded 2D images for a few of the cast (mostly for the Vehicle modes and such).

What is this? Is this kinda like the new TMNT cartoon?
Dead Metal's referring to the original
press release for this cartoon, which claimed it would be "Blending 3D characters with hand-painted environments".
As for comparing it to the TMNT cartoon, that show is fully CGI, environments and all.

shockblast2 wrote:Optimus's rebirths are shameless at best. Why is it always him and not some other character.
It mostly stems from the original backlash the G1 movie received for its killing off Optimus, and how it was done. As for why it's always him, he's killed off so much usually for shock value or dramatic effect, and revived so much because, well, he's essentially Hasbro's baby. Writers keep trying to axe him, and Hasbro keeps demanding he come back. He's too valuable for Hasbro to let him be killed off for good, so they keep him alive as often as possible.
Makes one wonder why writers don't just have him "retire" instead. At least IDW had him resign from leadership back in 2009, having never returned to top command since (as far as I know, that is, as I'm still behind on the current issues).
shockblast2 wrote:I personally would have loved to see G1 Ironhide come back, although there was probably not much left of him after Megatron shot him in the face point blank.
Well, he's alive in the Headmasters cartoon (for reasons unexplained), so we can only guess that he must have been revived at some point after season 3 but before that series in Japanese continuity, at least.
shockblast2 wrote:What do you think was the most horrible death of a character? Mine would be G1 Prowl. That scene with his face and him being eaten alive from the inside mortified me as an adult when I saw it again after so many years.
The worst death? Well, the first one that comes to mind would be Optimus's first death in Marvel G1, in which he killed himself over a video game (seriously!).
Though, conversely, the
best death that comes to mind would also be from Marvel G1, and happens to be Optimus's second death there, in which he sacrifices himself as he flew into Unicron's maw wielding the Matrix against the Chaos Bringer, destroying the dark god and going out in a blaze of glory!

Nowhere does it say that this show will be "comedy for comedy's sake".
Not even Rescue Bots, the only official Transformers sitcom ever produced, uses "comedy for comedy's sake".
TreyTable wrote:Also, where are Bee's horns?
Prime Bumblebee didn't have horns in that cartoon. This isn't G1.
