Dude, what exactly are you hoping to accomplish here? Seriously, chill. Everyone else unhappy with the weapons being delayed, myself included, has dropped it and is patiently waiting for the next step.

We're seeing real progress here and have a fairly firm promise of even more in the near future, so why not give OS a chance and a little bit of time to follow through on them? Can't hurt anything, right? Especially for a free game the site has no obligation to even provide, never mind OS spending his own time with no compensation, working on it?

It's not just about the weapons. My biggest concern is how little community input was involved with OS' decision in this instance.

According to Burn two people made this decision. I don't really feel that comfortable knowing how disconnected the HMW staff is from the actual player base when it comes to its decision making process and development schedule.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet 20 bucks USD that if you put up a poll on the HMW front page and it asked, "Would you rather have the weapons revamped for balance and usefulness or would you rather have the alt-mode rotator fixed?" the weapons revamp would win in a land slide.

In fact, I'll make that bet right now. If you put up this poll and the alt-mode wins I'll gladly donate 20 bucks to the site. If I fail to do so within one week of the poll close you can feel free to delete my account forever and I'll never post or play again.

Sound fair?

Sure does. Because the "two people" that made this decision were none other than SEIBERTRON and OMEGA SENTINEL. As far as I'm concerned, those are really the only people that can make these decisions. Sure, we can throw our two cents in, but when the smoke clears it's S-Tron and OS that have the final say.

Suck it up and deal with it. I have, and the rest of us have as well.

Would it make a difference if I said the two people who made the decision (which came out of left field for everybody btw) was the HMW programmer and the site owner?

They don't owe us an explanation as to why they made their decision, but I do hope they realise that claiming to listen to the community is one thing, but then deciding things on their own is no step forward from what we've had in the past.

Of course if we hadn't had a carrot dangled in our face in the first place only to have it snatched away ....

Ikavadas, I don't recall ever having the pleasure of talking with OS about this, as I was in LA with -Soundwave- for the week it happpened and only once actually logging on MSN to say hi to Carnosaur and the regulars I talk to, and I state againOS is not amongst them.

Personally I don't care what is implimented when, we get it when we get it, why worry? Now as for the call, bogus or not sometime decisions are made by those in charge that the people have to suck up and take it. Our employers do it, our family does it, our political leaders do it and by God sometimes we do it. That means sometimes OS and Seibs will do it. By no means am I saying don't voice your opinion, I don't have that right. But don't run around making baseless accusations at people who voice an opposing opinion.

As far as I'm aware, OS dosnt even use MSN etc. HE seems to make it pretty clear (to me at anyrate) that these convos happened in THIS forum, and via PM, followed by a telephon convo with Seibs/Ryan/site owner/god as far as this site is concerned when they both finally made the decission.

Now please shut up.

The discussion obviously didn't take place on this forum. If all the decisions are going to be unilaterally made by OS and Seibs than fine, I don't have problem with that. What bothered me was that this decision was made under the pretense of community input while OS's own intro letter to the forum talked about how important the community and it's involvement in the development HMW is when it clearly isn't a factor at all.

Just don't pretend that community input matters when it obviously doesn't. This is the last post I'm making in this thread so feel free to insult me all you want afterwards and then slap each other's asses about a job well done.

Btw, someone should probably remove the HMW bulletin about weapons.

You do know that there was another HMWGD thread about this where the matter was discussed before Seibs and OS ruled on the matter, right?

A user picks a Alt-Mode class for their TF but instead of picking a pre-prepared alt mode they name it themselves and there's a section like a avatar where you can link to a picture which would have to bee the same size as the current alt-mode pics. This would also mean that real shrunken pictures would be possible.

Taking my character "Vincent" his listing currently goes
ALTERNATE MODE
Class: Motorcycle
Desc: Motorcycle

Under this suggested system it would be (of course the pic would be drastically shrunk)

It might also be possible to link to a sig sized picture where user's could put a single fan-art (or recolour) of the TF in questions Robot Mode.

You could keep the classes similar to what they are now but i suspect adding a household implements classes might be needed for an influx of toaster-bots!

"Combat Vehicle" - The Combat Vehicle is identical to the tank, except that it doesn't say "tank" when it transforms. Because it really bothers me when trucks are described as tanks and trains as trucks in the mission logs.
Examples: LRV Warthog from Halo, Onslaught's truck form, military halftrack, other vehicles sturdy enough to ram/runover enemies, but also equipped with vehicle-mode turrets.

"Heavy Rescue Vehicle" - A collapsed category for Firetrucks, Ambulances, and other nonconstruction vehicle rammer/repairers.

"Light Rescue Vehicle" - All avoider/repairers.

[Edit: It would also be fair to say that Firetrucks should have strafe instead of repair in the first place, but I doubt many would be keen to accept that.]


"Giant Animal" - All ground bound animals of larger than 6tons. Dinosaurs, Elephants, Mammoths, nonflying dragons, some monsters. Same stat layout as the tank - the strafe represents fire breath or quakes.

"Large Animal" - Animals ordinarily slightly larger than a human such as horses, bulls, etc. Get Ram and Avoid.

"Predatory Animal" - Animals that wouldn't ram an enemy per se. Would get a renamed or new tactic like "pounce" or "Maul". Examples: lions, tigers, velociraptors...

"Venomous Creature" - Critters that are distinct for their venomous bites and stings. Would have avoid and "poison", as I'm betting that tactic eventually shows up. Examples: Snakes, arachnids, some insects, platypi...

"Small Animal" - Animals that traditionally would be unable to 'ram'. Have a single, very affordable tactic: avoid. Examples: Insects, rodents, rabbits, bats, birds, lizards...

"Flying Beast" - Large airborne animals like pteradactyls, condors, or flying dragons. Have avoid and strafe.

The catch with the animal alts is this: Each Beast Alt would have an associated set of common and core alts, but occasionally, the alt gif for one class would appear on the list as a rare alt for another class. This way, players would occasionally have the chance to pick up giant spiders or venomous dragons.

Gatling fusion cannons---FP/10, SK/10 damage-devestating no recharge

Gauss rifle---FP 7, SK 4 damage incredible high recharge

Battle fist--SK 4 damage very heavy no recharge

Burning Plasma Blades--SK 10 INT 5 (believe that you should have some intellegence to use them and not catch yourself on fire) damage Devestating to incredible no recharge

Energon scythe---SK 5 damage very heavy no recharge

Erupting Burning Finger---SK8 FP 8 Incredible damage high recharge

Energon Shard Sniper Rifle---FP 10 SK 8 damage beyong incredible, Very high recharge

Energon spark splitter blade---SK 10 INT 10 damage total recharge obscenly high

Devestation class fusion cannon--Maxed out all stats, damage unbelievabe, recharge very high

Sub-Zero blade SK 7 Damage devestating no recharge

Energy Hammer- SK 5 damage high to incredible short recharge

Gravity cannon-Sk 9 FP 9 incredible damage high recharge

Partical Projection Cannon (PPC) SK 8 FP 9 incredible damage very high recharge

Lightning Blade SK 8 FP 5 incredible damage short recharge

Air Assault--This is basically for jets/planes/Choppers that really would be to loaded down with weaponary to be avoiders first. Using a custom of mine as a example (and something that I'd love to see in the game for that matter)

For the vehicles in this class I would use the following

Strafe 1500/avoid 4500


I would also like to see a strafe/repairer

Repair 1000/strafe 3000

Transformers that could use this would be a alt like Blades of the protectobots. A armed medical chopper. Repair would be unlocked with 1 intel as it is with the ram/repair group.

LOL, it's cute that you'd post such "scathing" question after I made it clear I wouldn't be back but I couldn't let this one slip.

On page 6 OS himself asks everyone if a stat reset is what we all want and the answer was "yes" by everyone except Burn, SymbioteSpiderman14, and Redimus and then the concern shifted towards armor stockpiles to which OS replied he'd just add some if ya needed it.

What's hilarious is that on page 8 QuietStorm made a post with the following paragraph:

And then we get some back forth mostly between Caelus, Redimus, and QuietStorm of which QS is the one voicing the most concern about losing his alts. After that, we get this post:

This never happened.

Finally, QS gets emo and the thread is officially locked.

So basically the entire thread was hijacked by one person, it was locked, and then the follow up discussion simply never took place. Let's also not forget that people pretty much unanimously agreed the weapons should take precedence, they just disagreed on how to handle any resets or if there should be one at all.

Everything got scrapped for a few gif images, of which these gif images will be lost anyways once V2 hits. Is 2 months of staring at a dual-tone 30x30 pixel gif image really worth holding up the most broken aspect of this game and making sure it is thoroughly play tested and balanced before we get to the real version?

Weapon Ideas:

- Energon Shuriken - FP1/SKL1, light damage, no recharge.
- Quantum Destabilizer Cannon - FP10/SKL6, devastating/incredible damage, long recharge.
- Nano-Machine Darts - FP2/SKL8, very heavy damage, short recharge. Would have a "transformation lock" effect, if non-damage effects are implemented.
- Chaos Magic - FP4/SKL10, devastating damage, long recharge. Damage dealt is not reduced by opponent's armor, only by their END. Decepticon-only weapon.
- Light Magic - FP4/SKL10, devastating damage (damage is reduced by armor), short recharge. Can be used to "hit" allies for a repair effect. Autobot-only weapon.
- Telepathic Attack - FP1/SKL10/INT10, incredible damage, short recharge. Damage dealt is reduced by opponent's INT.
- Telekinesis - FP5/SKL5/INT5, light to incredible damage, short recharge.
- Pyrokinesis - FP6/SKL5/INT2, moderate to devastating damage, short recharge.

I can't take credit for it - but I don't remember whose idea it was. :oops:

Edit:

Hex Bolt - If it hits, target deals damage to himself with his next attack. If it misses, the attacker deals damage to himself on his next attack. A risky weapon to use, but can be worth it if fighting bots much higher in level than you. Calculating xp awards on it would be a bitch though.

Some weapon ideas:

Fletchette Gun-- shotgun-type weapon that shoots out little razor disks at high velocity

Pulser-- rifle that fires small darts at extremely high velocity

Tri-Barreled Plasma Cannon

Railgun-- shoots heavy slugs that can go right through the target

Magneto-Fusion Assult Cannon(MFAC)

Quantum Gun(Q-Gun)

Nanite Cannon-- shoots bolts of energy that damage the target's internal systems.

These are just some random weapons I've pulled from books I've read and games I've played :grin:
