Well i'm only taking the piss a little.
Here's the full story.
V2 is no longer V2. It will be called something else, that something has yet to be decided.
So until such time that it's decided V2 shall not be referred to as V2 but rather "The future version of HMW which was formally known as V2".
Redimus wrote:Now see why couldnt you have said that a few posts ago instead after we questioned it?
Burn wrote:Be thankful people. For once this isn't a one man show. For once we're being listened to. For once we're being told things. Maybe not everything, but it's a major improvement over what was.
No one has the ability to hold back the progress of this game outside of myself and Seibs. This game will move forward if it kills me (and it might).LuckytheWonderLlama wrote:Ha ha. Very funny.
So the Titanic gets a new name...
How does this help us now? We have people holding back real progress because they don't want to lose their Alt Modes.

No more riddles. No more clues. No more promises. This is just how it is.

I am attempting to get the new application started and finished by the time the movie is released.
I am not responsible for the problems everyone has had with this game over the last several years so I am not wounded at all. Just shooting straight with everyone.Caelus wrote:From the last thread, it seemed like OS felt wounded b/c he'd put in a lot of work and only heard complaints, very little excitement. Well, I'm afraid the people who would have been excited weren't b/c they don't put much stock in "soon", "a couple weeks", "less than a month", "when v2 is put up"...

Just saying this b/c I'm afraid that if someone doesn't, you'll have a rude awakening soon:
OS and the support staff are the only ones privy to this big change in how the game is being run. For the rest of the grunts, this just seems same-o-same-o, vague-talk and promises - same stuff we've always gotten.
You can keep telling us things have changed, that "we're being listened to" (frankly, I never thought we weren't being listened to), but other than a weapons restock, we've no evidence that things have changed.
From the last thread, it seemed like OS felt wounded b/c he'd put in a lot of work and only heard complaints, very little excitement. Well, I'm afraid the people who would have been excited weren't b/c they don't put much stock in "soon", "a couple weeks", "less than a month", "when v2 is put up"...
In otherwords, if you guys want to change the tone of the response your getting:
a) Actually tell the players in detail what you're talking about. Frankly, things have only been slightly less vague than ever. What were the new weapons that were about to be installed, what were the stat changes... etc. I don't think very many of the players give a flip about being 'surprised'.
b) If that's unacceptable, then refrain from all the hints which basically amount to 'I know something you don't know' taunting because it never ends well. Players get upset, make arguments (often intelligent ones) and the game staff (I assume) has good counter arguments, but they're so dedicated to keeping secrets they just say 'trust us, you're wrong' and expect the players to just drop it.
c) Start changing and fixing things, so that the players know it's not all talk. For good or ill, at least maybe more players will take interest in voicing their opinions and perhaps be a bit more realistic in voicing those opinions.
d) Remember that those who read these forums, and even less so those who post on them, don't constitute the majority of the players. If you really think changing something will benefit the majority of the players, but 5, 10, or 15% are unhappy and cannot possibly be appeased in some way, well, majority rules, even if they aren't the most vocal group.
Personally, I'd rather see someone try and fix things and fail (unless we're talking crash the game for 6 months fail) than listen to another month of unsupported promises and pointless circular arguments.

If that's true, then that's a step in the right direction. If you're pretty sure that the new "application" is going to be up in two and a half months though, why not go ahead and release the new weapons system? As Silverbolt suggested, it would be a good way to test them. And if we have less than 68 days left to play, then it doesn't really matter if the balance of power shifts b/c people aren't willing to reset. It's like worrying about the course of evolution, when total, unavoidable extinction is looming within ones generation.

Sorry OS, but i my eyes you will need to prove yourself, before i started believing in "V2" because lets be real i have been hearing about V2 being installed everyone xp restet for over 4 years now and it gets tiring.
Completely uncalled for.Naval Strike wrote:And Burn stop kissing ass already you are already part of the supportstaff or is that the reason why you stand up for OS because your opion is being heard in a closed forum??!!

I just typed up this nice long response. But you know what? You're not worth it.
If you have a problem with me being on the support staff then I suggest you take your concerns to Ryan. I'm there because I was asked to be there but if people feel my presence on the support staff is a negative factor for the game i'll happy step aside and let someone who can do a better job (you perhaps NS?) have a go.
Trust me. I don't agree with everything OS has done and i've had no trouble letting him know that.
