What amount of xp is a good amount to make the jump to level 1? I’ve been looking through mission logs belonging to level 1 ‘Bots, and it seems pretty brutal out there on the battlefield. lol The reason I haven’t levelled up is because I want to stand half a chance and not get smashed to pieces in every mission.

Alts with a tactic costing 1000 for the first point means the earliest you can get to level 1 is 10,000xp (3 points in stats 2 into a tactic. Or vice versa). Each time a tf avoids it earns 50xp extra, so fighters are a sensible choice of alt mode early on. One or two extra upgrades means 14k to 22k. The potential for more frequent mission spawns/times and more frequent competition also means better returns over time. Plus the rare chance for a massive payout in the 1-11s.

There is no 'correct' time to level up. The sooner you do it, the more you'll have your ass handed to you, but there's more to it than that. Base win xp and money is better, the chances of getting more exp is better because you're attacking higher level characters and it gives you access to about the same number of missions again to what you had at lvl 0, so if there's a lot of lvl 2s in missions, but not many lvl 0s, you can deploy your 0s instead of 1s, and vica versa.

RNG is still very much God down there too, which means while you probably will get killed, a lot (especially as there are *WAY* too many bots who should be lvl 1 who aren't), you will, in all likelihood, noting a marked increase in xp gain regardless. Which means you'll get to a good lvl 1 build a lot quicker than if you just farmed xp at lvl 0.

Life is tough all over , man.

Even my level 2-3's still get one-shot-killed in under 30 seconds sometimes.

But without great risk there can be no big reward. What you could get grinding for weeks at 0 you can get in a day or two (depending on play time)at 1.

An example I personally know of would be the decpeticon Kick Axe.
He doesn't play much but he just recently got his first couple level 1's (biggest one is 14K) even in his worst missions (as long as he's not shut out) he's making way more than at level 0

Sure the Bots have a different situation over there but a good example of how to make it big would be Wingz. When I came back to the game a couple months ago we were around the same place XP-wise (she might have been a bit lower) but while I screwed around with various crappy builds relying on backup to pull in XP she found builds that worked for being outmanned (avoiding, repair, strafe) and by not shying away from the 1-11 missions she hit big and has greatly surpassed me.
