I can agree to that, for me it doesn't matter how many are active.Tammuz wrote:Burn wrote:You know, i'm sure at the time the increase to 6 active was an idea put forward by "them" because "they" were the highest players at the time and "they" needed more chances to ... you know ... i don't really care about the active roster, for me it's all about expanding the team roster.

It's clearly obvious why YOU want this to happen, everyone knows you have more characters than Flashback has vinyl pants.
However, in your honest opinion, what does it really do to benefit the game as a whole?

Except that offers more variety to the game, and with the expanded alts we get expanded classes which gets away from the clones we have running around at the moment.Jesus Prime-Rose wrote:There's no point in shooting down an idea because you see no reason to go with it. But there's also no reason to go with it "just because".
What it comes down to is there's no real benefit to it being added, and there's no real downside to it being added.
So it's either added, or it's not, whichever happens it's not really going to have much an effect on the game as a whole.
And I think most of us would fall into the category of "whatever happens happens" with only a handful wanting it or not wanting it.
And i'm in the "whatever happens happens" category with a hinge of "not really seeing the point of it but eh, whatever".

Jesus Prime wrote:Well, I want it (as does Tam, presumably) so as to have room to create all the characters I have ideas for - though, to be fair, the 'non-combat character' idea I mention elsewhere would accomplish that and add to the game beyond the creative side.

And THAT I could go with.
And Tammy, as far as alts go, the variety is nice but I think a lot of people just like to look at all the pretty pictures.

Caelus wrote:Hey! Why don't we reduce the number of character slots!
Obviously, if adding more would do nothing to improve the game or the players' experiences, and if there is nothing special about the number twelve, it couldn't hurt to reduce the number of characters!
The game would probably run a lot more smoothly if every player just had 1 bot! Even cutting it down to three could be a big improvement!

what's stopping you having just 6 members, now?

I don't like using superglue. I once took a piss without realising I had wet glue on one finger after putting some Tyranids together.
