The biggest gripe for me though and one that noone's picked up on. If all the constructicons have merged together how come they're all still fighting individually??? That is just stupid surely?!
Sur_G wrote:I went to a pre-premiere at IMAX yesterday. This is my first IMAX experience ever and I have to say after all the build up, I was pretty let down by the size of the screen I expected a huge screen. Maybe its different in every Individual IMAX theater?
Anyway I just wanted to say I love transformers all my love, I have a separate room in my home, with only transformers from different generations in it. Its my Hobby.
I loved the first film and I waited every day for the second movie to come since the moment I saw the first one on 3 July 2006.
Yesterday was that moment....
What I liked:
-Optimus Prime Forest Fight
-Ironhides opening transformation
-Jetfire's voice and model
-A deeper story
-Soundwave and Ravage
-Bumblebee's fighting sequence with Rampage
-Shia acting more Mature overall
-John Turturros part.
-Wheelie's voice/humour
-Cybertron scene
-Megatrons voice acting
-Megatrons conversations with Starscream were great!
- The fact that we had a lot of Decepticons conversations overall, something that was lacking in the first movie.
What I didnt Like:
-The Fallen just sitting around and when something happens on earth he feels its time to show up.
-Megatron is a Tank, but he can fly in this tank mode, little bit weird
-Megatron can go from earth to cybertron in a very short time (less than 15 minutes all together). I thought Cybertron supposed to be in a different solar system.
-Pretender Isabel Lucas: Didnt add nothing to the story
-JOLT (GM VOLT car), was seen 8 seconds in the movie total. He is voiced by Anthony Anderson, but the only problem is, he didnt get one line!
-Arcee(Chromia/Moonracer) Could have been cut from the movie, she adds nothing and she is in the movie only 16 seconds, in robot mode, and maybe half a minute in bike mode.
-Ironhide/Ratchet, they get about 4 lines each in the whole movie and you dont see them very often. In the first film at least Irondhide got to say to sam: "Get to the building sam, we'll protect you" a couple of times.
-Sideswipe, has two lines and you get to see him in robot mode around 50 seconds in the whole movie.
-Devastator, he didnt fight any autobots.
-Why didnt Mudflap Die? Going inside Devastator, I just dont get it.
-Devastator: He is build from 6 constructicons, but the same constructicons fight autobots while devastator is build. Overall Devastator is a gimmick and Megatron could have done the same things by himself.
-The copies of same Decepticons: Grindor(Blackout), Rampage, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher(Same model from the first film).
-The fact that the humans have more fights with the Decepticons than the Autobots do.
-Sideways, he is a Joke, we dont even see his robot mode clearly, the only time is when he jumps through a building. Ohw and he is only in the movie for like 2 minutes before something happens to him.
-Scorponok could have just stayed where he was, this is not they way to come back, his part was alot better in the first film.
-Leo Spitz's character is quite annoying.
-Some of the collega humour was off.
-Movie has scenes that could have been cut, like most of the college scenes. And the shanghai scene didnt add nothing.
-Demolisher is so EFFING big. Prime is just a bug compared to him, but prime takes him out in 4 seconds.
Dont get me wrong Im very happy that movies of one of my favorite things in life are getting made. But its a shame when things can be so much better.
Im going to see the movies a couple of times more in the cinema no doubt about it, I will get the DVD and watch it alot times more. But Ill do it with less joy than I did with the previous movie.
Thanks for reading, please feel free to comment about my likings/dislikings. Im very curious in wich ways you agree/disagree.
Regards.

If you get a chance to read the previous posts, you'll see that several people, including me, have addressed the issue of multiple Constructicons, and whatnot (multiple Decepticons with the same alt form rather than a plot hole... much the same way all the Seekers in G1 were different colored F-15s). As for the Sideways bit, he is never referred to by name in the movie, only the toy line does so, as we all know, Transformers was a Toyline first, and a cartoon/comic/movie second.
And Megatron never flies to Cybertron, he goes to a moon on Saturn, as another poster mentioned.
I definitely agree with you on the Leo Spitz thing and the lameness of the Fallen just sitting around until he thinks its safe to go out now that his greatest threat is supposedly dead, although, in real life it makes sense.
Hope I was able to help clear up a few points there.
Also, did anyone else catch the UAV goof? The real life footage of the Predator drone they send out to Egypt had real word propeller driven flight, then when it cuts to the predator getting to the site of the action, it is jet powered? I think the same thing happened in Mission Impossible III.
wubloodkin wrote:My biggest gripe is how easy human weapons can now injure and kills Transformers. The Decepticons were mere cannon fodder during the end battle. And Devastator? One hit in the back and that's it? Hardly menacing.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

wubloodkin wrote:One more thing that gets me... it's 17,000 BC at the beginning of the movie. Location: Ancient Egypt - and human hunters are stalking what looks like a modern day "tiger"??? In EGYPT???
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't tigers native to Asia? The hunters certainly don't look Asian to me, and the Suncrusher is being built on what will later be known as the Giza Plateau (also not in Asia).
So where on Earth did the tiger come from? Must have wandered very far from home.

If I want deep plot I will watch a Shakespeare movie like Hamlet or the original Romeo and Juliet.
I wanted giant robots kicking ass and lots of action and I got exactly that. I really enjoyed it and will go see it again.

The majority were people who were hooked by the first movie...teens, young adults who probably don't know anything about G1 or Beast Wars or Godmasters or Pretenders. Transformers has gone mainstream, and in a HUGE way.

The seeker thing is a way to look at it. Makes me feel betterBut how did you know its a moon nearby?
About cybertron, on one hand im relieved that its just a moon very close on the other hand we didnt get to see cybertron, I thought I read somewhere that there would be home cybertron scenes. Anyway, can you explain about the decepticon babies? How are they making them?
Im not sure I get the thing with the Predator having different ways of being driven. Is this in the first 17.000 BC scene?
snowdevil86 wrote:--in the scene where Optimus flies toward the pyramid to attack The Fallen, there are three jets (couldn't tell if they were Raptors), and I think Prime attacks one of them...could those have been Starscream, Thundercracker, & Skywarp?

Gonna address this quick before the rest of my thoughts. If the humans and the Autobots had been fighting 'Cons for two years, they would have developed weapons specifically for that purpose- one's that are FAR mor effective than those used in the first movie. On that note, Devastator beign taken out by (JOYGASM!!!) a rail gun is not as far fetched as you may think. Those things are TREMENDOUSLY powerful and can easily punch a hole through a LINE UP of tanks...not just one. I believe they are designed as anti-ship weapons...to blast apart entire aircraft carriers.
