hahaha toe knuckles . I don't know man. I like the articulation on the PE ones its just the size of the fingers I think.
Don't get me wrong I think they are an awesome addition to any Combiner Wars set especially those feet I think i am just being picky about the hands I guess.

The two tone of the feet with the black gun barrels looks great along with the splash of colour in foot mode. The feet are a little "roundish" still for me ,if that makes sense? I'm not really 100% on them because i'd have liked to seen more of a streamlined aesthetic in that mode.

On the other hand the black set with this foot design will look fantastic on Defensor.

Y'know... honestly I'll totally be buying sets of these (purple/Menasor, White/Superion, black/Defensor) but for Superion at least, I might keep using his stock hands. I still REALLY like the missile/mini-gun knuckles.

Lol, its the toes sticking out of his hands that bothers me the most. (ok I hate the small feet too) I guess to each their own. But for me the PE hands/feet are what makes this figure look more like a child's toy rather than an adult collectible. I felt the same way about FOC Bruticus without the Boosticus add on set.

I just watched the video, and from your post, I thought the problem would involve QC or something like that. But in the end, it's more an aesthetic preference than anything else - he just doesn't like the thinness of the hands. Curled up into a fist, I think the PE hands look fine - it's not like you can unfurl the stock hands and do a comparison that way.

At any rate, his point that he'd rather have just hands and feet that work really well as hand and feet over hands and feet that are OK because they do too many things is well taken.

I'm not canceling my preorders, so I guess I'll see what I think once I have them in hand. Hopefully that'll be soon - I'm waiting on UT/DX9 Cocomone (that's the only version of that mold I'm willing to buy) before my TFsource order ships.



Also, mooncake, can you give me the low-down on nonnef? What's the quality of his work, previous projects, materials used, your thoughts, etc.?

Yep canceled purely on the aesthetics of the hands. I agree with Peaugh in that it looks way too skinny and skeletal.

I've never gotten anything from nonef.. but I've heard good things. we shall see once I get these feet pieces.

Currently, products are only available when in pre-order from the site. Helps fund the cost of the molds and setting up production. Wholesale ordering becomes available once a product is in stock and you'll see them at any interested stores.

Im good with the PE hands and feet because the hasbro ones suck in my opinion. People seem to like them, but I cant sugarcoat toes spiking out the knuckles by calling them "blasters". I might end up buying the noneff stuff too down the line. Lets see...

I'm interested in those Nonnef feet for Superion; I got the PE set for Menasor, but I don't necessarily want him and Superion to have the same hands/feet, even if they are awesome. I'll probably get a set in black anyway.

Someone asked about the quality of the plastics in the PE sets; I don't think there will be any problems any time soon with breaking. The thumbs on my purple set were a little tight, but I popped them out and then back in, and I think they were simply not in the socket all the way.

It says coming soon on their website, but we don't know for now. I hope they get it out in the next month or 2 though.

Did a quick photo shop pic where i increased the upper legs on CW Superion. to illustrate that only replacements longer upper legs parts. will eliminate the long monkey arms on CW Superion.

The PE height boots did nothing to make the Superion arms shorther. As the Arms with or without the PE Hands and feet still reach the same spot on the knees area.

Totally disagree tsu. The PE hands are smaller than the hasbro hands and the PE boots are at least double the height. Maybe me and you have different opinions of what constitutes "monkey arms". I will have the PE set in hand by noon today as my pile of loot arrives. I will take some before and after pics plus comparison shots of the parts side by side to show what I mean.

Considering picking the PE ones up, are they any good? The feet look solid enough, but I'm concerned if they separate too easily. Also the hands, while I think they look fine, are they sturdy?

The weakest part, IMO, is the ball joint that acts as the ankle tilt. When I connected the feet into the limbs, I had to use a lot of force which caused the ankle support to pop out of the rest of the foot. In further attempts I found it easiest to detach the ankle support, plug it into the limb, then attach the thing to the feet via the ball joint.

What I've done is just split the foot apart before attaching it. But yes, that's really the only trouble I've had with it. Both parts are pretty solid, no worries about the feet splitting unless I want them to.
